AO3 Comments are SO SO SOOOOOOO important because you can only leave Kudos ONCE. You add to the hit count ONCE (every 24 hours).
So whenever someone updates their fic, the ONLY way an author knows who their regular readers are is if they comment on each chapter. And we WANT to know who's still reading.
Believe it or not, some of us think about the name that pops up constantly in the comments and go "omg I can't wait to see what they think of THIS SPECIFIC SCENE cuz I KNOW they'll say something about it!!!"

These are just the last three fics I wrote. I appreciate the likes, believe me I do, but you have to understand. Likes do nothing for content creators. It’s the reblogs. Because that’s how you find shit on your dashboard. Through reblogs. Not likes. This isn’t twitter or tiktok or instagram. This is a website that’s run by the reblog system.
Reblogging helps content creators put their stuff out there. Why do you think so many people stopped writing fanfic and creating beautiful fanart and edits? It’s because they put in hours of work and don’t get nearly enough notes for their masterpieces. Yes we do this because we enjoy it but like...some validation won’t hurt. A boost of confidence here and there might be all someone needs to finish whatever thing they started and left.
Anyway, I’m still going to reblog my shit...

+Timmy can't just wish Jimmy back to normal/they can't use the Brain Drain helmet to fix him.
++The two are in a relationship.
+++It's a secret relationship and Jimmy accidentally reveals the secret to Danny and Spongebob while compromised.
++++Jimmy's behavior/intellect is like what it was when he was brain-drained in the third Power Hour special rather than in Normal Boy (aka somewhat aware of what's going on but still otherwise silly and goofy and, well, lacking intelligence)
+++++Jimmy ditzily hits on Timmy akin to how he calls Cindy cute/pretty the two instances he loses his intelligence in the show.
++++++Jimmy says I love you for the first time while brain-drained. Timmy is both thrilled and anxious he doesn't actually mean it (obviously he does)
+++++++Basically a fic filled with fluff and chuckles.
