Tbh a lot of the info on boycotting is misinformation, and it is indeed virtue signaling. Boycotts only work when people focus on what they can get rid of for a long period of time. It's impossible to boycott EVERYTHING bc of the way capitalism works, hence the importance of targeted boycotts. The book issue is just ridiculous too bc the issue goes beyond a single book or author. I'm sorry you've had to deal with all this bs on top of personal issues. Sending you lots of hugs ❤️

i fully realize that it’s important to care about where your dollars are going and that’s why it’s important to know who we should boycott bc they’re supporting a literal genocide etc but god it is so exhausting when you’ve had a personal week from hell between a huge, extremely sensitive and depressing family emergency and a strep throat case that has made you more sick than you’ve ever been in your life, and then you log onto twitter and find out you’re not supposed to like a book about dragons anymore and also taylor swift’s one unproblematic ex is actually a zionist. i just want to know less about everyone 😭 it all really makes me think of the good place and how nothing is actually a harmless action because if you buy roses for your wife as a good deed then it turns out you actually did something bad because you supported a farmer that used pesticides that poisoned and killed small children like you can’t do anything right 😭 and again i say i know it’s important to know these things but sometimes it all starts to feel a little virtue signally when i feel like people are putting more of an emphasis on telling people to unfollow a social media celebrity than they are putting an emphasis on calling your representatives to demand a ceasefire
