Derek waking up from his pre-game nap normally times with Skye’s dinner time, so when he walks into the kitchen and finds no sign of either his two-year-old or any indication she’s already eaten he isn’t quite sure what to do with himself. “Hey?” He yells out into the apartment, in lieu of any other plan. “Derek!” Vee immediately yells back from her room, “We’re in here! Come help!” She doesn’t sound panicked, despite the words she’s saying, so Derek doesn’t run down the hall. He does walk pretty fast though. He also doesn’t knock before he enters. There’s clothes everywhere. A pile on the floor amongst strewn, empty hangers. A pile on the chair Violet has in the corner. And two piles on the bed that Skye appears to have turned into some sort of throne for herself. “What are you doing?”  “I have a date and Skye’s helping me choose an outfit.”

i wasn't active on tumblr when it aired but trust i was feral for it on twitter, especially for the rocks sisters.

(i also bought myself a pink build-a-bear that smells like candy and is dressed as a knight, i regret nothing)

ANYWAY on the rocks was this whole coffee shop au i had planned where instead a being a kingdom candia was a coffee shop and instead of a war there was like,,, retail politics ig? and all the sisters were ALIVE. thank you.

(to be fair in series timeline it would have been set as the war was starting anyway so they'd've still been alive but like. i wasn't gonna kill them in a coffee shop au was i lol)

ohhhhh i actually need to rework this fic but there's a lot written that will stay

its mattdrai! its an accidental child acquisition fic with a wishbaby (wish toddler, ig) spin on it! and the reason it needs reworking is bc i realised i wanted to make mattdrai exes getting back together in it,,,,,

anyway here's a couple of snippets from the sections i have written for it:

1.

“Brady thought she was a ghost at first. Asked her how long she’d been three.” “How did she even respond to that?” Matthew grins at the memory, a glimmer of pride shows through it, “She bit him.”

2.

“Why are you even out? You clearly don’t want to be here.” Matthew sighs, something deep within him shifting as he turns fully towards Leon, “Brady talked me into it. Hockey players are oblivious, but me missing a karaoke night is apparently something that everyone would notice.” “Karaoke night?” Leon stops, his glass midway to his mouth, “This is a sports bar.” All he gets in response is a raised eyebrow. “We’re in Church-Wellesley,” Matthew says, as if that explains everything. “Every bar around here either has a drag act or turns into a mediocre karaoke spot come 10pm.” “Wait,” Leon pales, looking slightly horrified, “Are we currently part of one of those groups of straight people invading a queer space because it's hip!?”

“C’mon, we’ve gotta get going.” His condo isn’t that big, where did she even go? “I don’t wanna!” Comes a response, finally, muffled from somewhere underneath the sofa.  He perches himself on the edge of the seat, feet planted firmly on the floor where he thinks they’ll be within her eye line, resists the urge to sigh from deep within his soul. It never used to take him this long to leave the house. One of the many things in his life that’s changed in the last few months. At least he's got a trick up his sleeve, “Wanna wear the shoes that light up?”
