Oh, yeah, I went to Raiders of the Lost Ark with the live symphony and it was gr8.
What surprises me the most when I go to these is that the stand out themes/pieces aren't always the ones that are my "favorites" on the recordings. The "Ark theme" was probably the stand out live experience.
And in this particular movie, the music synced punches land way harder when you've got live percussion, lol.
I feel like I'm reaching the breaking point of trying to compete with Mud in agility.
Mud's movement looked a little funny a couple of mornings last week. I think I was seeing a bit of a head bob, but he was also slinking around after watching bunnies out the window. He's not non weight bearing lame, but he's not moving as...freely??? as he does when he feels good. His posture actually still looks pretty square, though, so it's just the movement that looks off.
I think he's still dealing with the tunnel slip from March. His hair is still swirly behind his shoulders and if he's painful behind the shoulders, that would explain lack of extension.
I'm going to see what we find at his massage on Friday, a day before an agility trial, but I'm getting the feeling that I will be scratching that so I don't aggravate whatever is going on. It's just so frustrating that he will look good and then something like this throws him off. I can't seem to keep him sound for a decent length of time.
The will he/won't he is wearing on me. It'd be easier if it was a career ending injury, but I would like to avoid that so he can be sound in daily life. He's not passionate about the sport, so I don't think he'd be "missing" anything. He likes scent work more. His "trial stress" at trials last year was probably from being sick. I can finish his CD and he'll have the VCD1 because I eked those Novice agility titles out of him while he was sound.
I feel like I'm so cautious because I want to avoid chasing injury dx and paying for expensive surgeries. He already had expensive surgery. I've also paid for some other injury treatments. I have to pay for all kinds of maintenance for agility. I'll still need to stay on top of maintenance, but I don't think it will be as...urgent? as when he's doing agility.
It's kind of ridiculous that this current "injury" is likely from a "low impact" class that has no jumps/weaves/contacts. I think surface/conditions will almost be more important if I continue to keep running Mud than the equipment he is doing. :/ Honestly I do think I still might play with him on equipment in practice, but not show him. I think part of the "stress" about running him is the entry fees I'm flushing down the drain when I have to scratch him because conditions aren't right. I don't really have the "disposable" income for that. I might try to do some NADAC video run stuff with him. He might be able to NATCH that way, lol.
The real struggle here is that attending trials helps me get clients for portraits. I guess I could start going down as just a vendor. :/
Final brush test, painted with my new rake brush pack which I’ll be releasing next week! Free / pay what you want like always! All my free brush packs can be found here and the rake brush pack will be as well!
