I love how Adelina’s “redemption” in The Midnight Star doesn’t center around Magiano, her love interest. Instead, it’s her sister she sacrifices herself for. Yes, Magiano helps with her illusions and is a comfort, but it’s always been Violetta she trusts and loves the most. She was willing to give up a chance at a life with Magiano for her sister’s revival. And I think that’s really cool.
