I take that back, I should have been his replacement,” he added, quickly correcting himself. “It’s nice to meet you Sela.” He paused to take one final sip from his beer bottle. “So, how did you get stuck with the late shift?” As he was glancing around, he couldn’t help but notice there were anyone else working with her that night, maybe it was a good thing the bar was so dead that night.
“I don’t know. I watch a lot of daily show... I’m kind of biased.” A shrug of sorts, a hint of an amused smile on her face. At his question she shrugged once more as she looked around the bar herself. “I didn’t get stuck with this shift. I prefer this shift, actually. ...I’ve always been a fan of the night. Plus, people who come here when its dead usually tend to keep to themselves. But sometimes they come in for conversation too.” Clearly she was speaking about him there, eyebrow arching for a moment. The polite smile on her face gave away that she didn’t mind the conversation; it was the first one she’s had tonight. “The tips suck, though.”

“You didn’t have to get me gas either but you did. No te preocupes por eso.” She waved him off before continuing to scratch the card off. She pause for a chuckle, looking at him briefly before back down at the colorful game. “Will do.” After a few short moments she had scratched off the card, holding it up and looking at her winnings. “I got... oh! Ten bucks! That’s the most I’ve ever won in one of these.” It was no jackpot but it was still exciting to the woman. “That means five dollars go straight to you. Don’t spend it all at once.”
