I imagine that after years of Victor’s fans seeing his cool, suave, pre-Yuuri image where he pretended to have it all together and be a Serious Athlete™️, Victors fans are now living for the moments when Yuuri stealthily sneaks footage of Victor being his silly, goofy self. Includes, but not limited to:
- Victor and Georgi lip syncing Brittany Spears greatest hits during gym time
- Victor cracking up at some joke Yuuri made in the middle of lunch and nearly spitting his drink all over the table
- Victor practicing corny pick up lines, complete with over the top winking and eyebrow wiggles, as he skates past Yuuri in practice
- Victor teaching Yurio some of those old hand-clapping games and giggling in delight as Yurio gets more and more frustrated at not being able to beat him
- Victor loudly critiquing the plot of bad rom-coms during their movie nights (“So what, she spends her life waiting for him to love her, and now that he has nothing left, he can just come crawling back to her?? After he treated her like shit?? No listen Yuuri, stop laughing, it isn’t right! He doesn’t even like her dog, why would you put up with someone like that???)
- Victor singing silly children’s songs to Makka in every language he knows while she lets him rub her belly
- Victor getting ready for a photo shoot, but instead of him getting dressed like he’s supposed to, he puts on parts of different outfits that look rediculous together and comes out to jokingly model them, complete with over-the-top posing
- Victor trying to tell Mila a joke he heard, but laughing through the punch line every time until he and Mila are crying laughing just from the fact that Victor can’t get the stupid joke out
- Victor breezily pretending not to speak Russian or English while Yakov yells at him at the rink
Essentially Yuuri’s social media presence has gone from nonexistent to only existing to show the world what a world class dork his fiancé is, because they have been deprived of it for too long.

Hands down my favourite part of Yuri On Stage
Many thanks to @thatshamelessyaoishipper for subbing the entire section.
This line of dialogue (spoken by Yurio) is genuinely so important to our understanding of Viktor’s character. It’s fair to say that a lot of us kind of view his character as lovable, childlike, and whimsical, and that isn’t wrong. But this proves it, he’s only like that around Yuuri, according to somebody who has known him for three years or so at an absolute minimum.
This is the Viktor Nikiforov without Yuuri, the one the majority of people know. This is the Viktor Nikiforov who sits alone in parks in the snow, with only his dog for comfort, as he contemplates how his life even turned up like that.
I know this is a particularly bad moment, to be fair, but just look how miserable he looks.
Even here, he just looks so bored and serious.
This is Viktor without Yuuri for what? Three days?
The actual effect Yuuri had on Viktor’s life is astounding. With Yuuri, Viktor learnt to let everything go and just be him, rather than his more restrained and serious self, morphing into the usual personality we see and love for the duration of the anime.
All I can picture is the first day Viktor and Yuuri start training again at the rink in St Petersburg, and are absolutely gobsmacked to witness Viktor smiling, laughing, with his arms draped around Yuuri like he’s a buoyancy aid. Quiet, serious Viktor Nikiforov actually looking like he’s enjoying his day. He’s the opposite of the kind of man who would tickle someone publicly, but there he is, chasing Yuuri Katsuki around the rink like a five year old. It’s like some kind of bizarre dream. Even Yakov would have to admit that Yuuri’s presence has transformed him.
And perhaps Yakov even asks him once, unable to help himself, where Viktor suddenly got so much inspiration from, after so many years of misery.
The only answer he gets, as Viktor starts to walk away, is “he gave me his love, Yakov.”
