I’m so sick of seeing videos and posts of a bunch of privileged college students who decided to make a geopolitical conflict their whole personality and who view college as a LARPing opportunity instead of fucking school. You just know they wouldn’t be screaming about this if they had any actual hobbies or any ideology besides what’s popular online and what pisses off their parents. It’s all about a radikewl aesthetic while affecting absolutely nothing in the real world. And now with Columbia University’s rabbi urging Jewish students to stay away from campus because it’s unsafe, what the fuck have these LARPers done other than harass Jews off campus instead of going to class in their “Gaza solidarity encampment” (AKA their excuse to skip class and not do assignments)? People in Gaza are still hungry and displaced, Hamas still has hostages, but don’t worry, guys! Students at Columbia are being antisemitic by praising 10/7 and cosplaying anarchy instead of going to class “for Palestine”!
They’re just insufferable, and their First Amendment rights don’t exempt them from the rest of us judging them for their actions

I think something folks are missing is that a lot of, if not most of, people in the activist sphere are perfectly aware of the antisemitic undertones, messages, and individuals within their movements.
They just don't really care.
Antisemitism is seen by most left-ish goyim as a lesser prejudice, something that's not really an important issue. So when someone they're organizing with harasses, assaults or vandalizes random Jews, Jewish-owned businesses, JCCs, or shuln, they're perfectly happy to brush it off. It's a minor blemish on what they feel is a noble and righteous movement, not a big deal overall. You can point out the ways in which they are harming Jewish people and communities by spreading antisemitic talking points and obvious lies all you want, but they're still just going to reply with a non sequitur about Palestine.
The students at Columbia are perfectly aware of the naked hatred of Jews on display in the off-campus solidarity demonstration outside the gates. They are aware they are creating an environment in which the majority of Jewish students do not feel safe or comfortable being on campus.
They simply do not care.

REMINDER TO NOT TALK TO THE GUARDIAN ABOUT DIY HRT IF ASKED ❗️❗️❗️
Susanna Rustin is a huge TERF too, and a quick search of her name on The Guardian brings up repeated proof.

The #1 issue with doing antisemitism education imo is trying to convince people that yes, people do actually believe that. Yes, people do actually believe we have horns. Yes, people do actually believe we steal Palestinian organs or Christian baby blood to bake matzah. Yes, people do actually believe that we’re lizard people who operate a global cabal that controls all the world governments.
Seems crazy, no? But Jewish communities have had to protect ourselves from people who actually genuinely believe those things for centuries. Every single synagogue shooting and pogrom and massacre has that level of crazy bullshit at its heart. It’s the common thread between the Protocols of the Elders of Zion and Mein Kampf and the Charlottesville riot and Pizzagate.
People who actually believe that insane bullshit are in your communities. The left, the right, the center? Doesn’t matter. They live in your neighborhoods and they work at the stores you shop at. They’re everywhere. And if you want to be a good Jewish ally, you have to account for the fact that a solid chunk of your community seriously believes we’re mind-controlling aliens.

Just a reminder that there is an antisemitic history of comparing Jews to pigs. I don't think it should be too hard to criticize Israel without using historically antisemitic rhetoric.

it’s insane to me that people are painting the protestors at columbia and yale as “anti-war.” in fact they are very much pro-war! they have cheered for iranian missiles and hamas rockets, shouted “october 7th will be every day” and “burn tel aviv to the ground.” they don’t want the war to end, they just want the side they support to succeed in killing more jews. absent that, they themselves are happy to harass and physically assault local jews that they can get their hands on.

I don’t know how this isn’t common sense, but:
If your movement has managed to put an already oppressed minority group in danger to the point where they don’t even feel safe to leave their home to go to school, your movement is heavily flawed.

"Jews aren't indigenous to Southern Levant"
My guy, you literally used the word jew. Jews comes from the old kingdom of Judea, it literally means from Judea. Judea existed before Palestine.
How tf are you going to claim jews are not indigenous whilst using a word which is linked to jewish indigenousness

Love how the “leftwing antizionists not antisemites” crowd keeps bringing up khazar conspiracy theories, phrenology and outdated race science, and use skin colour and nationality as a litmus test but display zero knowledge of ethnicity and heritage. The crazy right wingers mostly use religion as their main arguments, so it’s as if these guys are trying to argue their prejudice has a more…scientific bent to it…

You mentioned you like Stephen Fry! Be wary, he is a Yid and he is only friends with you to extract wealth, which is the primary objective of a Jew. He may seem nice to you but in reality all he wants is more sympathisers and your money. You can't trust a Jew as far as you throw it. No need to thank me, education on them should be mandatory not volentery. Dirty, evil creatures. Keep up the good work with the books.
Look, this is a bit embarrassing, but I’m afraid that I’m a fully-paid-up honest-to-goodness barmitzvahed-and-circumcised Jew myself. And while I would, of course, like sympathisers and money, I most certainly do not want yours.
Also, it’s spelled ‘voluntary’.

How to Tell If That Post of Advice Is AI Bullshit
Right, I wasn't going to write more on this, but every time I block an obvious AI-driven blog, five more clutter up the tags. So this is my current (April 2024) advice on how to spot AI posts passing themselves off as useful writing advice.
No Personality - Look up a long-running writing blog, you'll notice most people try to make their posts engaging and coming from a personal perspective. We do this because we're writers and, well, we want to convey a sense of ourselves to our readers. A lot of AI posts are straight-forward - no sense of an actual person writing them, no variation in tone or text.
No Examples - No attempts to show how pieces of advice would work in a story, or cite a work where you could see it in action. An AI post might tell you to describe a person by highlighting two or three features, and that's great, but it's hard to figure out how that works without an example.
Short, Unhelpful Definitions - A lot of what I've seen amount to two or three-sentence listicles. 'When you want to write foreshadowing, include a hint of what you want foreshadowed in an earlier chapter.' Cool beans, could've figured that out myself.
SEO/AI Prompt Language Included - I've seen way too many posts start with "this post is about..." or "now we will discuss..." or "in this post we will..." in every single blog. This language is meant to catch a search engine or is ChatGPT reframing the prompt question. It's not a natural way of writing a post for the average tumblr user.
Oddly Clinical Language - Right, I'm calling out that post that tried to give advice on writing gay characters that called us "homosexuals" the entire time. That's a generative machine trying to stay within certain parameters, not an actual person who knows that's not a word you'd use unless you were trying to be insulting or dunking on your own gay ass in the funniest way possible.
Too Perfect - Most generative AI does not make mistakes (this is how many a student gets caught trying to use it to cheat). You can find ways to make it sound more natural and have it make mistakes, but that takes time and effort, and neither of those are really a factor in these posts. They also tend to have really polished graphics and use the same format every time.
Maximized Tags (That Are Pointless) - Anyone who uses more than 10 one-word tags is a cop. Okay, fine, I'm joking, but there's a minimal amount of tags that are actually useful when promoting a post. More tags are not going to get a post noticed by the algorithm, there is no algorithm. Not everyone has to use their tags to make snarky comments, but if your tags look like a spambot, I'm gonna assume you're a spambot.
No Reblogs From The Rest of Writblr - I'm always finding new Writblr folks who have been around for awhile, but every real person I've seen reblogs posts from other people. We've all got other stuff to do, I'm writing this blog to help others and so are they, the whole point of tumblr is to pass along something you think is great.
While you'll probably see some variation in the future - as people get wise to obviously generated text, they'll try to make it look less generated - but overall, there's still going to be tells to when something is fake.
I don't have any real advice for what to do about this (other than block those blogs, which is what I do). Like most AI bullshit, I suspect most of these blogs are just another grift, attempting to build large follower counts to leverage or sell something to in the future. They may progress past these tattletale features, but I'm still going to block them when I see them. I don't see any value in writing advice compiled from the work of better writers who put the effort in when I can just go find those writers myself.

if Jews don’t feel safe in the environment you’ve created, you’ve created an antisemitic environment. i don’t get why that’s a hard concept to internalize and comprehend.
