GFD Trading Covid-19 Update - March 25th, 2020
We would like to assure all of our customers that we will remain open for business during this difficult time. Since the 18th of March, all of our staff have been working remotely and are fully equipped to provide the usual support and advice for our customers. The websites remain live and functional as ever, with all phone, email and live chat support continuing uninterrupted.  We want to reassure you that we will continue to function as normal and our teams are fully committed to our customers, our staff and our partners. Below are the latest specific updates:
Quotes & Placing New Orders:
Our sales teams are all working as normal and all websites remain live to take orders 24/7. Orders are now being allocated on a ‘first come first served’ basis, and once manufacturing resumes these will be processed and delivered in the order that they were received.
Our staff remain on hand to answer your questions, help you with your quotation and process your order. We do anticipate high volumes of demand in the coming weeks once the government rules are relaxed, so if you do have a project or order requirement we advise that you place your order as normal to avoid disappointment or delay.
If you wish to place your order and postpone the survey until after the self isolation period, this is completely fine and your appointment will be given priority once the government rules are relaxed.
Existing Orders:
As of March 25th, the majority of our manufacturing plants have temporarily halted production. This is in line with government advice and to protect the health and wellbeing of staff. If you have a delivery booked in the coming days or weeks, you will be contacted by a member of our staff to confirm what is happening. Many customers are asking us to postpone deliveries, particularly for heavier items where assistance is required. This is completely fine and we are happy to do this.
If you have an installation booked, we do still have installers available for essential work only, observing the social distancing advice from the government at all times. You will be called before the visit to confirm if anybody in the household has any symptoms, in which case the visit will be postponed. If you prefer to postpone your installation date this is no problem, please let a member of our team know ASAP.
Warranty Claims & Remedial Visits:
Any warranty claims for replacement parts etc. will be dealt with as normal, although please note the delivery of any replacement items will now be delayed for at least three weeks as most of our manufacturers have temporarily shut down. All parts will be sent out as soon as staff are back on these sites.
Any remedial visits will be carried out as normal, subject to the social distancing measures outlined above. Please allow for extended lead times on remedial visits during this difficult period, as we do have limited installers available. We also politely ask that customers delay any ‘non essential’ remedial work requests until after the government rules are relaxed and work life is returning to normal. This will allow us to better serve customers who have more urgent requirements.
Please note all measures are subject to change given the current fast-changing situation, and we will always act in line with government advice for the safety and well-being of our staff and customers.
We would like to thank you for your understanding and continued support. We wish all of our customers the very best during this testing time, and encourage everybody to stay safe and healthy.
Regards
GFD Trading LTD

WarmCore - All of this and so much more
The above graphic was lifted straight from our WarmCore Homes site and shows the range of products we offer under this banner, in the simplest of terms if you are having an opening in any wall in your home, we have a product to fill it. Over the last couple of years Aluminium has seen a huge resurgence in the fenestration market with the introduction of UPVC core elements within the profile and the use of enhanced double or triple glazing, the thermal insulation has been massively improved, plus the technical advances in powder costing have opened up a whole new colour range for those with more exotic of taste. The WarmCore range is not without competition but we believe that it is one of the most engineeringly sophisticated and stylish of the products currently available representing excellent value for money, particularly as we install nationally and we are not restricted to specific geographical areas of installation.
The majority of our customers are attracted by our Bi Fold doors a product whose reputation is continually growing with every new sale and the subsequent customer referrals arising from each of these transactions – and we frequently find that customers are so pleased with their Bi Fold that they return to purchase their French Doors or windows when their individual need arises.
Further down the opening page of our website we actively encourage our customers to consider purchasing all of their fenestration needs from ourselves with the use of the following graphics.
Tumblr media
The number of customers who are taking advantage of using our services for provision of all of the ir fenestration needs is most definitely on the increase, but we are equally aware, because it is one of our most frequently asked questions, that the cost of replacing all units with the WarmCore range can be expensive.
Question – We would like to purchase all our doors and windows from yourselves but our budget will not stretch that far.
Answer – WarmCore is part of the GFD Group of Companies and we have a group company that specialises in whatever your requirements may be – UPVC Bi- folds, UPVC windows, Composite Doors, Lantern Lights, Rooflights etc
We would normally continue by referring hem to the appropriate group company website.
If you would like to place the fenestration fitting out of your home or extension with one company here at the GFD Group we are more than happy to mix and match our various product ranges to accommodate our individual customer requirements to check out the products we can offer take a look at –
Timber Composite Doors, Global Door, Composite Door prices, andBi-Fold Door Prices for all of your fenestration needs and
Eurosecure  for all of your domestic security needs With our nationwide installation service applying to all Group companies, plus 0% Finance available to customers who meet the qualifying requirements why would you not take up the GFD Group offer to supply all of your fenestration needs

WarmCore Homes :Every mans home is his castle
WarmCore Homes :Every mans home is his castle
When in 1604 Sir Edward Coke declared –
“the house of every one is to him as his Castle and Fortress as well for defence against injury and violence, as for his repose” which over the years has become simplified to “a man’s home is his castle”
-who would have believed that we at GFD Trading and our WarmCore subsidiary would some 414 years later be installing our very first castle with Bi fold doors. We accept that we are massaging the facts a little as the “castle” in question is actually a new annex extension to the original building, but it is not every day that we are asked to carry out an installation in somewhere quite so grand.
Tumblr media
However when Bi fold doors are of the quality of WarmCore doors they are a welcome addition addition to any home as our installation photographs show.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It is not difficult to imagine, even from these “construction” photographs, just how superb these doors will look when the annex has achieved its final decoration as the annex mellows into the surroundings of the main building so will the WarmCore doors
At WarmCore we are not surprised that our Bi Fold doors have been chosen for such an illustrious setting as these are doors which simply ooze quality.
The unique WarmCore profile with its multi chambered ORANGE UPVC core wrapped in aluminium is extremely versatile and is at the core of the WarmCore range of products doors, Bi fold doors,
Tumblr media
At WarmCore our goal is to give all of our customers sophisticated and stylish products that provide a” Warm Living experience “in their homes whether it be a new property an extension or an alteration this is a product that will improve the quality of your home..
The range which continues to expand currently encompasses single residential doors, French/patio doors and a multitude of sliding door options to fit openings up to a maximum of 6000mm wide x 2400mm high with options of 2 to 7 panels dependent only upon the size of the opening and WarmCore product is –
-stylish and thermally efficient compared to compatible products up to 25% more so with double glazing and 75% with triple glazing.
– the stylish good looks come from the aluminium frame which comes in a range of four anodised colours pure white, heritage cream, anthracite grey or jet black and the strength
-the thermal efficiency come from the multi -chamber “orange” UPVC central core of the aluminium frame
– the glazing options which can be either double or triple glazed and which provide extremely efficient thermal ratings, 1.4W/m2K for double and 1.0W/m2K for triple glazing
Every WarmCore door single residential, French or Bifold is both strong and durable having achieved accreditation to PAS 24 and” Secured by Design” (the one recommended by the Police and most Insurance Companies).
They are all designed and constructed to ensure that they will keep your family safe inside and the weather locked outside.
Even if your home is not a castle, we can guarantee that when you install WarmCore Bifold doors it will feel like one (but without the draughts) and possibly even better than the style and sophistication they will add to your property these doors are so thermally efficient they will guarantee huge savings on all of your heating bills.
please note all trimming and finishing is being dealt with by other contractor who are fitting ZINC to edging (boxing off etc…)

WarmCore Homes :Remember This?
WarmCore Homes :Remember This?
Almost a year ago back in April 2019 we included a blog entitled “WarmCore not quite the norm but we love it” on our website which featured a commission where the client had requested a full property fitted out with our WarmCore product a request to instal 13 windows, 2 bi-folding doors and 1 set of French doors.
Within the text of that blog we made the following statement –
“Take away the scaffolding and put down the landscaping and this property will be stunning – we think so and clearly so does our client – we take great pleasure in printing his words below-
“The new windows and doors have completely made the building come to life after seeing it as a shell for so long! We couldn’t be happier with the finished result and the frames look even better than we imagined! The anthracite grey looks stunning in aluminium, and we are so glad we went with the flush sash. All of the tradesmen we have on site have commented on the quality of the windows.
Special thanks to our Warmcore project manager who took the time to go through all the options in detail and kept in contact with us throughout the project. We were worried after the survey as one of our openings was too small for the French doors the architect called for, but Warmcore found a great solution with some tilt and turn windows that we absolutely love! It is refreshing to deal with a company that really know their stuff and care about the customer’s needs.
We must also praise the fitting team who were superb, working tirelessly and showing attention to detail with all finishing off. We have saved for years to build our dream home and we are so pleased we chose Warmcore Homes. Thank you again.”
We can now state with certainty that both our client and ourselves were correct – the scaffolding is down; the landscaping is in place and the property is stunning. Compare and contrast the above photograph of the rear elevation of the property with the finished article
 Rear Elevation
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The finished photos from the client truly show the transformation of this home
Or maybe the front of the property? Which we featured as individual window and door photographs in the original blog
Front Elevation
Tumblr media
And the one we like the best of all – the rear elevation as taken from the opposite side of the Gable which features the large panoramic Bi Fold door which did not appear in the original Blog as at the time of the original photographs were taken it had not been delivered to site and all that could have been photographed was a hole in the wall. Now that it has been installed it looks stunning and creates a superb focal point to the rear of the property from the outside and a wonderful window onto the garden from the inside.
Rear Elevation featuring panoramic Bi Fold door
Tumblr media
As we stated in the title of the original blog “ not quite our norm ( although it is becoming so as more clients are looking for a complete house of our product or a change out of all their existing windows to our product) – and yes we do love it” as we are sure you would too if you decided to change your doors and windows to WarmCore.

GDPR: how GFD Trading Ltd will look after your personal data
The other big event in May – or
GDPR: how GFD Trading Ltd will look after your personal data
If it were not for the Royal Wedding the forthcoming introduction of GDPR would probably have ben given somewhat more publicity – but with a certain inevitability it will arrive on the 25th May and it will affect all of us
GDPR – what is it and what does it mean to you – European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) represents one of the biggest changes to data protection rules in two decades.
GDPR is legislation is designed to harmonise data privacy laws across Europe and give greater protection and rights to individuals.
The EU’s GDPR website embraces the legal definitions and interpretations of the rules in great detail as they can be both complex and difficult to understand for individuals and companies. However, the basic intent of the rules is itself simple – all businesses that hold and process personal information will need to have proper processes and policies in place for handling this type of data –
which of course includes our business – and your data.
As we at GFD Trading Ltd have stated many times in our various blogs and articles we take great pride in our professional service and our reputation for looking after our customers best interests and therefore we can advise that over recent months we have been working with external Consultants, across all areas of our organisation, and third parties, ensure that come the 25th of May- all of the legislative matters that impact our customers’ requirements under GDPR are addressed.
As our business is one where many of our staff have telephone interfacing with our customers they have all been briefed and undertaken internal training to familiarise them with the requirements of GDPR.
As a company there are a number of important compliances which we have to adhere to and we have already completed these tasks – notably
Updating our processes and policies for privacy and data protection – now displayed on all of our web sites
Removing old and obsolete records
Improving IT security and testing
Improving marketing processes and systems
For anyone unfamiliar with Data protection Laws and GDPR represents an update rand tightening of the rules rather than something new they are entitled to ask the question “what’s all the fuss about?” and “what data a company is likely to hold on them?” and “why?”
In most cases there is nothing sinister in the responses to the above questions – if you purchase anything on line you need to provide your contact details to fulfil the Contract of Sale and provide details of a place for the delivery of the goods.
GFD Trading Ltd as with the majority of online companies incorporate customers details into a database to register date of sale and monitor any future transactions (guarantees/repairs/ additional sales etc) and to offer any future promotions which may benefit the individual customer. The personal information we request from our customers is limited to the essentials
Your name                                                                                   to fulfil contractual obligations to you
Your telephone number                                                     to fulfil contractual obligations to you
Your email address                                                               to fulfil contractual obligations to you
To provide additional information about GFD Trading Ltd its services or publications/articles
Your Location                                                                            to fulfil contractual obligations to you
To provide you with relevant promotional mailings.
The GDPR is not only about the Company it also gives the individual greater control over the use of their data by companies
The GDPR provides the following rights for individuals:
The right to be informed
The right of access
The right to rectification
The right to erasure
The right to restrict processing
The right to data portability
The right to object
The Information Commissioner Office web site   gives more information of these rights and how individuals can be exercise them.

WarmCore: Not quite our norm – but we love it
WarmCore: Not quite our norm – but we love it
This below is the norm –
At WarmCore Homes we have built our reputation upon our ability to supply and install quality Bi-Fold doors just like the one used in the photograph above, but anyone who has visited the WarmCore Web site will quickly realise that there is a lot more to the range than just Bi fold doors –
Tumblr media
Residential doors,
Patio Doors
French doors
and Windows are all part of the range
We install them all – but it is the Bi-folds that our customers love –
and then along comes a client who puts their faith in us to deliver – not one set of bi-bolds but 2 and that was just the start this was a new build with a full range of WarmCore products required
a Full self-build house, where we have supplied and installed 13 windows, x2 bi-folding doors and x1 set of French doors.
This was a client who placed his faith in our service and know-how he first contacted WarmCore in June 2017 and we have guided them through all stages from advice with planning, technical details, choosing the right product and even assisting with building control after the install (providing the right documents etc)
The client was looking to achieve a modern look to the property so we recommended flush sash windows in Anthracite grey (the clients colour of preference for all doors and windows) to contrast the traditional stonework
Even from the construction photographs it is clear to see that this property is going to look spectacular when it is complete and it is one we will definitely be revisiting for our “gallery shots”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Take away the scaffolding and put down the landscaping and this property will be stunning – we think so and clearly so does our client – we take great pleasure in printing his words below-
“The new windows and doors have completely made the building come to life after seeing it as a shell for so long!
AT GFD Group of Companies of which WarmCore is one, we are used to receiving excellent customer reviews through TRUST PILOT, but, as in this case, when we take on a project which is a little unique for ourselves the client comments are appreciated even more. The whole GFD Group philosophy is to provide each and everyone of our clients with a quality product and quality service at all levels – sales- installation and after care.
The product and the service are only part of the solution we know there are many who will look at these photographs and say “but what did it cost” – clearly that is between the client and ourselves but as a clue – in the client’s words –
“The quote came in 10k cheaper than leading local firm in the South West”
So competitive pricing can be added to the list of service benefits you get with a GFD Group company.
This is not the first full house we have completed but they are the exception rather than the norm so if you are contemplating a new build home why not follow the example of this client and choose WarmCore Homes for all of your doors windows and of course Bi-Fold doors.

Bi -fold doors would your home suit them?
Bi -fold doors would your home suit them?
We have to admit to being biased but we at WarmCore Homes believe every home suits and will benefit from the installation of Bi- Fold doors because not only do they add value to your property, much more importantly in our opinion they can improve your quality of living. If Bi-Folds can be installed in a property such as the one in the photograph they can be installed in your home and just think how good they could look.
If you only have conventional windows it is difficult to get “fresh” air circulating in your home on those rare balmy summer days we experience so infrequently in the UK, if you have patio of French doors you are part way there you can open them wide and experience a flow of summer into your home, but if you have a Bi – Fold door unlike the more conventional lift and slide doors or French doors, bifold doors open up the entire wall or any space as big or as small as you wish to make it, this is due their concertina opening style. Open them wide and it is as if there is no wall there at all, just an extension of your garden to relax into and enjoy your garden.
Whether the opening you are looking to fill is narrow or wide, there is a style in the WarmCore Homes range of doors that is perfect for you from a simple two door format right up to a seven panel configuration which can fill openings of up to 6.00m wide our bifold doors are so versatile that you can choose your preferred number of panels to fit any opening.
vimeo
Warmcore Homes Aluminium Bi Folding Doors-770Out-HD 1080p from WarmCore Homes on Vimeo.
The versatility of our doors does not end with the number of panels because no two homes are the same and each of us has differing preferences – you also decide how your doors will open and where they park, inwards outwards left or right – there are in fact so many options that the best way to check out all the options is to visit our web site “Designer “ page where you can design the configuration that best suits your home. We have to agree with our customers when they tell us that this configuration issue sounds a bit complicated, but really it is nowhere as complex as it first seems the styles are describes in three numbers, the left number refers to the number of panels you choose for your door, the centre number shows how many left and the right number show how many open right, pretty straightforward – we actually make it as simple as possible by graphically illustrating each of your choices take a 6-4-2 – 6 panels 4 move left and 2 move right – it’s that easy
Adapt your door to suit where you have the space more space to the left of your room more panels to the left, or the opposite if your excess space is to the right, or you’d like one panel to open by itself, you decide the options you want, that’s what our designer is for.
With our range of configurations whether you are simply aiming to open up part of your kitchen dining room, or looking to create a wide-open space into your conservatory, or opening up a full wall to the lounge our bifold doors are flexible in design to suit either a new build or your home improvement project.
As bifold doors fold away neatly to one or both sides, they create the illusion of so much extra space when they are open making your room seem that bit larger and more inviting.
But what of the material from which the door is manufactured as the the WarmCore Homes door is described as a – A COMPOSITE BI-FOLD DOOR- what makes it different it is actually a bi- fold door with a UPVC core set inside an Aluminium frame –
providing the best of both products – from the Aluminium the precision engineered frames which can be manufactured to any size and which will be guaranteed to retain their strength and rigidity, ours are strong enough to be capable of carrying the weight of either double or triple glazed glass panels and provide solid and secure fixings for all of your handles locks and runners
from the UPVC – the inner core strength that both improves the “U” values whilst providing a superb “cold break” within the frame all but eliminating the transfer through the structure.
The original concept of the dual material WarmCore frame has now evolved into something altogether very special –
Slim line aesthetically pleasing frames
Guaranteed strength confirmed by the doors “PAS 24” and “Secured by Design” accreditation
Double or triple glazed units that ensure excellent thermal values which can be further enhanced by the introduction of thermally efficient “Celsius” glass
The introduction of thermal breaks in the frames to enhance “U” values the excellent draughtproofing all contribute to keeping your energy bills down and your home warm and secure.
Smooth and sophisticated operating systems that glide rather than are dragged into position
Low thresholds that actually do prevent water ingress
A carefully selected minimum range of colours for exterior and interior– jet black, anthracite grey, heritage dream and pure white seem to enhance the exclusive nature, and appearance of this door rather than detracting from its appeal and of course the handles and accessories can either be colour matched to the frames or provided in contrasting colour to suit your décor.
Will it suit your home? Of course, it will a Bi- fold door from WarmCore Homes the one you want to come home to.

WarmCore Aluminium Bi Folding Door colours -
WarmCore colours –
The warmcore profile, orange on the inside but what colour on the outside?
The orange inner core of the warmcore profile that provides its superb thermal efficiency and stability has proven to be very popular among our customers many of whom have asked the question why can we not have the orange core visible as it looks so striking. We have to agree as a part of the profile it looks good but we at WarmCore Homes doubt that if given the option many of the purchasers of our expansive range of products would go for orange as the exterior or interior colour of their Bi-fold, patio or residential doors and the thought of a full household of orange coloured external core windows is not one we really want to contemplate.
Tumblr media
The aluminium cladding of the warmcore profile comes in a choice of four much more subtle colours which can be used to blend with your décor both inside and outside of your property –
Tumblr media
Pure White, Heritage Cream, Jet Black and Anthracite Grey offer a choice of colours that will blend with the décor inside or out of most properties – and if you require a “Jet Black” outer frame and a “pure White “inner frame that is not a problem any combination of matched or contrasting colours is possible, the photograph shows a Pure White exterior and Anthracite Grey interior
The best way to check out your options is to use the WarmCore Homes door designer – steps 7 & 8 allow you to choose your exterior and interior colours and provide a graphic illustration of how your door will look once installed.
The WarmCore Home door designer provides you with all the options you need to design your perfect door starting from “Delivery Only” or “premier Installation by WarmCore Homes” working through your full chosen specification and when you have completed your design send us your “e” mail request quote and we shall respond in as quick a time as it takes us to work out your price.
Now you have the hard choice – the interior a nice neutral “go with anything white” or a dramatic Jet Black – and for the exterior – what goes best with a rustic facing brick???

We don’t do that –tell lies that is
To paraphrase the Meatloaf hit of 1993 – We don’t do that a set of lyrics that still has people wondering what he would not do for love – we here at WarmCore Homes have our own theory on the matter we believe the key is the 4th line of the lyrics where he sings –
“I’d never lie to you and that’s a fact”
Meatloaf would not lie to the lady I his life and we at WarmCore Homes will not lie to our customers.
At WarmCore Homes we do not simply sell doors – we live doors, we love our product our whole team work tirelessly to ensure that we not only give the best product, service, installation, customer protection at the most competitive of prices.
In the simplest of terms we sell a genuine product at a genuine price.
We always enjoy the experience of talking to potential customers and we take on board both their commentss and their praise – and that includes complaints, the most recent of which rather threw us – the client loved our web site, loved the product but when we asked what was stopping them from purchasing we were somewhat surprised to hear that our price was not competitive. As we take pride in developing good commercial relationships with our customers we were able to ask the name of the company who were providing the same product at lesser price.
To paraphrase another company’s slogan “never knowingly under sold” (John Lewis Group) we were concerned, so we did exactly what we believe our customers would expect us to do, we checked. The source of the price was a competitor “on line” retailer, nice web site advertising Warmcore products with an “e” mail link for a supply of price (not dissimilar to the structure of our own web site) – we filled the “e” mail application and awaited a price, which, when it duly arrived was cheaper than that of our company WarmCore Homes.
Initially we were shocked, but as we read a little deeper into the specification elements of the quote alarm bells rang, it looked correct but it felt wrong – this specification was for a door other than a Warmcore profile door. They were using the “Warmcore” graphics to secure the interest of the customer and then providing an estimate for a different product.
The words “caveat emptor” (buyer beware) come to mind – we as professionals in the industry were almost taken in so we can appreciate how difficult it can be for potential customers to pick their way through the selection process, particularly when the boundaries of that selection process can be blurred by the vagaries of the internet.
We have to admit this experience taught us a lesson – we spoke to the potential client advised them of our findings and pointed them in the direction of a company genuine Warmcore product supplier to obtain an alternative price, the overall outcome was good – WarmCore Homes were the most competitive and the customer knew our product was the real deal rather than an inferior substitute, they have not signed up yet but they are looking at the benefits of our 0% finance package (another benefit of using WarmCore Homes) so it is imminent.
The lesson we at WarmCore Homes have learnt is that we must ”up our game” to ensure that our customers are never in any doubt that the product they are purchasing is the one they actually want as we said in one of our recent blogs “WarmCore by name, WarmCore by design” we could have chosen any name for this company but we recognised a product that was so good that we wanted to be associated with it and the greatest accolade we could give it was to use the same name.
The lesson for potential customers of the ”Warmcore” product range – ensure that the company you intend to trade with is selling you the product you wish to buy rather than an inferior substitute.
To paraphrase the title of a 1970 Simon and Garfunkel song “keep the customers satisfied “ – we try very hard to comply with this statement by providing our customers with the best product , installation, customer protection at the most competitive of prices and we try to do it in a friendly and informative manner – back to Meatloaf – we will do many things to assist our customers in making the choice of their new bi-fold door– BUT WE WON’T TELL LIES”
We don’t do that –tell lies that is was originally published on WarmCore Homes Blog

WarmCore a new ERA in Bi-Fold doors
WarmCore a new ERA in Bi-Fold doors
The WarmCore era begins with the “orange UPVC Multi chamber core” and the superbly styled aluminium wrap around cladding which gives us the warmcore profile – throw in some superb engineering to shape and form the profile into any one of hundreds of door combinations – extend that engineering to cover some very stylish rollers – add some beautiful powder coating finishes and a choice of glazing options which provide thermal ratings of 1.4W/m2K for double and 1.0W/m2K for triple glazing – offer as an option every conceivable configuration of doors in sizes up to 6000mm wide and 2400mm high and the WarmCore Era has begun.
That word Era when spelt with capital letters as ERA is particularly important because ERA are the suppliers of hardware for every WarmCore door
With 175 years’ experience ERA a specialist “Total Security” a company formed in 1838 and servicing the fenestration industry with locks and security systems for the whole period are experts in their field, which is why we chose them to supply the handles and locks on the WarmCore Homes range of doors.
Tumblr media

When is a mirror not a mirror ?
When it’s a WarmCore Homes picture window
It looks like a mirror and reflects like a mirror – which could well be a trick of the light caused by the “triple” glazing – the one thing we do know for certain is that when this customer in London asked us to provide and install a WarmCore Homes triple glazed picture window, we may have underestimated the manpower installation requirement, the triple glazing was rather on the heavy side as it took two of our crews to manoeuvre and lift into position. Heavy, yes, but well worth it in respect of insulation benefits – not only does a clear pane of this size give an unobstructed view of your garden it also provides a thermal insulation value of 1.0W/m2K- which is pretty impressive by anyone’s standards.
Just to prove that it is not a mirror, here is the view from the inside looking out
Tumblr media
The Warmcore profile- the one with the orange multi chamber UPVC core and the Powder coated aluminium wrap around cladding has so much versatility that it is not hard to believe that so many beautiful pieces of fenestration could be manufactured from such an attractive core profile.
Tumblr media
It is the orange inner core of the warmcore profile that provides its superb thermal efficiency and stability and with the aluminium cladding available in a choice of four powder coated colours (to maintain appearance and resist scratching), Pure White, Heritage Cream, Jet Black and Anthracite Grey a selection of subtle colours which can be used to blend with your décor both inside and outside of your property –
Tumblr media
– and if you require a “Jet Black” outer frame and a “pure White “inner frame that is not a problem any combination of matched or contrasting colours is possible
The original concept of the dual material WarmCore frame has now evolved into something altogether very special –
Slim line aesthetically pleasing frames
Guaranteed strength confirmed by the “PAS 24” and “Secured by Design” accreditation when used in the production of our residential, French and Bi- fold doors.
Double or triple glazed units that ensure excellent thermal values which can be further enhanced by the introduction of thermally efficient “Celsius” glass
The introduction of thermal breaks in the frames to enhance “U” values and the excellent draughtproofing used in our residential, French and Bi- fold doors all contribute to keeping your energy bills down and your home warm and secure.
Smooth and sophisticated operating systems on our Bi-Fold doors that glide rather than be dragged into position
Low thresholds for our residential, French and Bi- fold doors that actually do prevent water ingress
A carefully selected minimum range of colours for exterior and interior seem to enhance the exclusive nature, and appearance of the profile rather than detracting from its appeal and of course the handles and accessories for all door and windows (other than picture windows) which can either be colour matched to the frames or provided in contrasting colour to suit your décor.
If you like the look of our picture window maybe you would like to take a closer look at some of our Bi-Fold door options, you can find out everything you need to know about the warmcore profile and its many uses by a visit to our WarmCore Homes web site
Tumblr media
If the idea of triple glazing seems a step to far, had our customer requested double glazing rather than triple glazing this would not only have saved the “bad backs” of our installation crew it would still have provided a very acceptable thermal insulation value of 1.4W/m2K and a further point to consider, both double and triple glazing alternatives are guaranteed to improve the acoustic insulation values of your room.

WarmCore by name – WarmCore by design
WarmCore by name – WarmCore by design
The Warmcore profile – the one with the super-efficient orange multi chamber thermally efficient core encased in the ultra-sophisticated slim line aluminium outer casing is starting to revolutionise the way we think about doors, windows and particularly Bi-Fold doors. It looks good, it works brilliantly and when combined with either “A” rated double glazing or if required triple glazing it produces some of the best thermal efficiency performance figures available for domestic doors or windows.
Here at WarmCore Homes we take great pride in the fact that we are retailers of this tremendous profile, so much so that we branded our on-line sales outlet for the products we retail manufactured with it, with the same name – WarmCore Homes sell doors, windows and Bi-Fold doors manufactured with the warmcore profile – a fact against which there can be no argument. We realise that we are not alone in using the Warmcore name a simple use of the term in the typical search engine will produce a number of companies who clearly state that they are manufacturers / retailers of the product even when their own company name does not necessarily reference the product – for example “Warmcore Bi-Fold doors from Wally’s windows” which gives the potential customer a clear understanding of what he is likely to be purchasing if he were to approach “Wally”
Tumblr media
As with most companies who operate on line we keep a watchful eye on developments in our industry and we have noted that as the popularity of this product has and is continuing to grow a number of companies have taken to branding the product as their own, a practice which is fine by us, if a little misleading for the customer, we have even heard from customers who believed that they were purchasing doors, windows or Bi-Fold doors manufactured from the warmcore profile only to find out later that this was not the case.
Tumblr media
Doors, windows and, particularly Bi-Fold doors may not be the most expensive item we will ever purchase but they are far from cheap, therefore we believe that the customer should be left in no doubt as to the product they are purchasing – this when coupled with exceptional Sales and Installation service of the kind provided by WarmCore Homes is our way of ensuring that all our potential customers know, understand and love the product that they are purchasing.
WarmCore Homes by name – Warmcore profile by design – WarmCore service guaranteed.

Live Warm with WarmCore
Live Warm
A WarmCore homes Bi fold door always provides a warm welcome no matter what the season
With a name like WarmCore Homes there had to be a philosophy that initiated such a name – and there was- from the very beginning we knew that the WarmCore profile was an excellent product which we were pretty certain could be adapted for use in all manner of fenestration products that would protect your home from the elements, whilst keeping you secure and warm on the inside.
Tumblr media
If the WarmCore profile was at the heart of the concept – what was our philosophy – a very simple answer – “Live Warm” – warm homes, warm doors and windows, warm conservatories, with a product as versatile as the WarmCore profile the options were considerable and to elaborate upon our philosophy –
“Our goal is to give all of our customers sophisticated and stylish products that provide a” Warm Living experience “in their homes whether it be a new property an extension or an alteration our goal – give our customers the product that improves and defines the quality of their lives to ensure they “ Live Warm” “
The range which continues to expand currently encompasses single residential doors, French/patio doors and a multitude of sliding door options to fit openings up to a maximum of 6000mm wide x 2400mm high with options of 2 to 7 panels dependent only upon the size of the opening and WarmCore Homes is –
-stylish and thermally efficient up to 25% more so than some of the competition
– the stylish good looks come from the aluminium frame which comes in a range of four anodised colours pure white, heritage cream, anthracite grey or jet black and the strength
-the thermal efficiency come from the multi -chamber “orange” UPVC central core of the aluminium frame
– and of course, the glazing options which can be either double or triple glazed and which provide extremely efficient thermal ratings, 1.4W/m2K for double and 1.0W/m2K for triple glazing
Every WarmCore door single residential, French or Bifold is both strong and durable having achieved accreditation to PAS 24 and” Secured by Design” (the one recommended by the Police and most Insurance Companies) .
They are all designed and constructed to ensure that they will keep your family safe inside and the weather locked outside.

WarmCore Bifolds in 5-6-and 7 panels wide
WarmCore Bifolds come in 5-6-and 7 panels wide a question of statistics
Your dilemma you have the space in your new build sun room to incorporate an opening for your new bi fold doors of between 5.00metres to 6.00 metres how many configuration options do you have? The simple answer you would think would be to ask the experts – the window company who is designing your door – if that window company was to be WarmCore Homes you would receive an even more confusing answer – we do not know. Yes, we know that sounds ridiculous but please consider our position – every door manufactured is bespoke to the customer so we do not actually design it, you do, we simply place all the options before the customer. For any standard opening we give the options of –
Doors opening to the right – in the centre – or to the left – which is three options for any configuration
Then you have the choice of Doors opening in over to draw the outside into your room or out over which can greatly enhance your internal living space when your doors are open a further two options
We reckon that’s two x three six options for every door style
The next step is the hard one your door configuration, do you minimise the number of panels to maximise the open aspect of your view or do you maximise the number of door panels to give you greater control over the environmental factors of sunshine and draught – no easy choice and something we at WarmCore take for granted, having never actually tried to work out the permutations we offer our customers.
We worry about our customers here at WarmCore Homes, just Like a dog with a bone who will not give up chewing, we thought about the configuration options and decided we now had a problem that we had to try and resolve not only for our own peace of mind but to have some semblance of a response if we were ever asked the question – “how many options do you offer?”. We limited our choice to the 5.00 m to 6.00m width we selected three widths just to see what our web site ” designer” would throw up – the minimum of 5.00 the a random 5.40m and the maximum of 6.00m.
The results are as shown below-
for the 5.00m width (we chose sliding to the left) and came up with these six options multiply that by the previous six variations and that’s 30 options for this width alone.
For the 5.40 width (we chose a centre opening configuration) and came up with seven options multiply that by the previous six variations and that’s 42 options for this width.
For the 6.00m width (we chose sliding to the right) and came up with four options multiply that by the previous six variations and that’s 24 options for this width
So, for 3 options of width we came up with an amazing 96 variations in configuration and as we can manufacture all of our units to mm of tolerance there is the potential for doors to be requested in a potential 1000 widths between 5.00metres and 6.00metre s which if a random three sizes can produce 96 variations we estimate could be a figure as high as approx. 3200 variations being available – probably as well we are an internet sales company because we would never find a showroom large enough to supply them all.
Our assessment is only based upon door widths of 5.00metres – 6.00metres wide so the full total of our options when taken against the range from 1500mm up over could run into hundreds of thousands because we also offer a 380mm width variation in door height.
After carrying out this whimsical exercise we at WarmCore Homes can advise all of our potential customers with certainty that if they have an opening for their new bifold door of between 1500 -6000mm wide and 2020 -2400mm high we can accommodate all of their needs and configurations – but please do not ask us how many options we produce.
The WarmCore Homes designer gives you all of the options you need to design your perfect door– why not try it for yourself – with doors that open outwards to minimise loss of space in your living area when fully open or inwards to welcome your garden into your home – they are all your choices and that’s before you get to choose the glazing, external and internal colour – pure white, heritage cream, anthracite grey or jet black and hardware options – picking the number of panels and the configuration that once seemed so difficult now seems remarkably easy.

WarmCore In Detail from WarmCore Homes on Vimeo.
With every WarmCore Homes Bi fold you are guaranteed-
a stylish and thermally efficient door- the stylish good looks come from the aluminium frame which comes in a range of four anodised colours and the strength and thermal efficiency come from the multi -chamber “orange” UPVC central core of the aluminium frame – and of course the glazing options which can be either double or triple glazed and which provide extremely efficient thermal ratings, 4W/m2K for double and 1.0W/m2K for triple glazing
a door that is both strong and durable and has achieved accreditation to PAS 24 and” Secured by Design”. To ensure that it will keep your family safe inside and the weather locked outside.
Whereas other Bifold door suppliers may treat the hardware on your door as of minor importance this is not the case with WarmCore Homes doors, our hardware is very important indeed the locks and handles are from ERA – ERA a specialist “Total Security” company have been around since 1838 servicing the fenestration industry with locks and security systems – that’s a lot of experience – 175 years and counting which is why we are able to offer the ERA 5 Star guarantee when you purchase a new bifold or French door from ourselves this is a guarantee that should not be missed read more on our Security page and find out exactly what the ERA 5 star security guarantee could mean to you.

WarmCore Bifold Doors - Installed by You!
WarmCore Bifold doors – installed by you ?
First impressions could be wrong – it’s a nice van and its driving through some nice countryside with your new bifold door and a team of our excellent installers on route to install your new door – well it could be but it’s not – no installation team and no they are not in a separate van following on behind.
This van contains your new WarmCore Bi fold door our driver and his mate because it’s part of our new service WarmCore Bi Fold Doors, Windows French doors etc. in fact all of our doors and windows are available as a DIY service – so if you are an installer yourself or maybe a very competent tradesperson we are offering you the opportunity to purchase our superb product and install it yourself. The normal caveats will of course apply as it’s a DIY product once you tackle delivery the responsibility of installation is yours, this does not mean to say we at WarmCore Homes would walk away – that’s not the GFD Group way ( WarmCore Homes a is a GFD group company) we will still be there to support you should you need us.
Tumblr media
Rather than set up a complete set of web pages to offer this new service we have simply added the “Delivery only” option to our “Quick Quote” facility on the home page same easy to navigate “designer” but now with two routes to achieving your required quotation – all that is required is that you follow the step by step guidance questions (remember to complete them all) and when you have completed – enter your “e” mail particulars and we will get back to you virtually by return with your “delivery only” price and you can start looking forward to an outlook like that below.
One word of warning – if you are a DIY enthusiast rather than a dedicated installer of fenestration products – if your new Bi- Fold door is to be installed in an extension or an alteration to an existing opening there is a lot more to consider in respect of line, level, square and cill calculations – if you have any doubts leave it to the professionals. When it comes to professional installation services they do not come much better than WarmCore installers and as our Installation service includes a full dimensional check and structural review we take care of all the little things that could frustrate your installation.
At WamCore Homes we take great pride in our product because we know just how good they can look when installed correctly – a part of that pride is knowing just how much our customers will love their new bi fold doors for many years to come.

Buy Bi-fold doors on line and experience the world
Buy Bi-fold doors on line and experience a world without barriers
London may be the capital of the UK but neither London or any major UK city can be tagged as the centre of the UK Bi-fold door market, the World Wide Web has swept away all of those geographical barriers not only nationally but also internationally, distance and location are now no longer barriers to any sale, a philosophy which we at WarmCore Homes heartily embrace.
We do not expect that many readers will have heard of WarmCore Homes – the name may be new but the company is not– WarmCore Homes are the latest subsidiary of the ever expanding GFD Group of companies – a company that specialises in on line sales of door windows and accessories and among its other companies are –Timber Composite Doors, Global Door, Fusion Door, Composite Door Prices or if it’s just accessories your after Eurosecure . The GFD Group is rapidly now into its tenth year of trading (2017) during which time it has successfully installed approximately 10,000 Composite doors for satisfied customers – a cursory glance at the TRUST PILOT reviews on any of our sites will establish that we know what we are doing when it comes to doors.
At WarmCore Homes we may not be one of the major companies in the Bi fold doors market (but we are on our way) we sell a quality product and provide a quality installation service throughout the UK courtesy of a long-standing agreement with one of the premier door and window installation companies in the UK. We are not shackled by showrooms be it in Hartlepool or Hereford, the internet gives access to customers throughout the UK and our installers have over a dozen depots throughout the company so we are rarely more than fifty miles from the home of any of our purchasers.
As a new and progressive company WarmCore Homes have “bought in to “ the whole digital revolution concept so not only do we provide a superb web site, but our whole Sales and administration service is geared to be as automated as possible, minimising the chance of errors and maximising our ability to provide our customers with exactly the service they demand, it is only by doing everything that we can to assist our customers that we leave them happy and recommending our services to their friends.
Bi -fold doors are not new they are a concept that has been around for a long time the Romans the Greeks the Chinese all historically used forms of folding screens which are the forerunners of what we now call the Bi fold door. The modern bi-fold has been developed to maximise the area of glass available and have the capability of opening up a room by folding back the glazed wall of the opening whenever you chose to do so.
The original concept has now evolved into something much more expansive –
Slim line aesthetically pleasing frames
Double or triple glazed units that ensure excellent thermal values
The introduction of thermal breaks in the frames to enhance “U” values even further
Smooth and sophisticated operating systems that glide rather than are dragged into position
Low thresholds that actually do prevent water ingress
Bright and colourful – white for UPVC or Grey for aluminium are a thing of the past – foils and powder coating have revolutionised the appearance.
Possibly the most important – price – as Bi folds are now not seen as simply a commercial product the number of competitors in the domestic market has risen – more manufacturers = more competition = cheaper prices.
These are all standard for any modern bifold door and are all included as standard in our doors – but that which sets the WarmCore Homes door aside from the rest is that it is not manufactured from a single material, it is a composite a UPVC core set inside an Aluminium frame –
Tumblr media
providing the best of both products –
from the Aluminium precision engineered frames and doors which can manufactured to any size required or configuration required and which are guaranteed to retain their strength and rigidity so as to allow the capability of carrying the weight of either double or triple glazed glass panels- the aluminium also allows a solid and secure base for the fixing of all handles locks and runners etc.
from the UPVC – the inner core strength that both improves the “U” values whilst providing a superb “cold break” within the frame all but eliminating the transfer of cold through the frame
a Warmcore Homes Bi fold door offers so much – the things you would take for granted from a company such as the GFD Group, – Quality Sales Service, Installation, Aftersales, an excellent Financial assistance package (subject to qualification)
but what can our customers expect of the of the actual Bi fold door –
Tumblr media
A Quality Product, most certainly, and one which encompasses all of the following features –
Precision manufacturing – designed as a new concept with slim line aluminium profiles and the latest design technology using a UPVC core, which when combined produce a high quality superbly styled, clean lined finish to both the doors and the frames.
vimeo
Warmcore Homes Aluminium Bi Folding Doors-734Out-HD 1080p from WarmCore Homes on Vimeo.
Personal configuration – you the customer make the choice – when you use our “door designer” we will provide you with all of the configurations of doors which fit your designated opening size to allow you to choose that which best suits your home.
Colours – If it is available as a RAL colour (which pretty much covers every colour) then we can provide it – we can even if you so wish provide dual colour if that’s your choice subject to an extra cost.
And for the more technically minded –
The Composite construction of a UPVC core encased in a Aluminium profile ensures strength, structural integrity and a frame which when combined with the option of double or triple glazing guarantees one of the lowest “U” values (thermal efficiency) available 1.0W/m2K (triple)– 1.4W/m2K (double).
In order to ensure that structural integrity of all components is maintained at all times your new door and frame is constructed with mechanically jointed double -strength sash corners with a combination of internal cleats and a wraparound corner moulding block for extra robustness and rigidity a construction that ensures solid fixings for all hinges, locks, handles, shoot bolts and rollers
Tumblr media
custom engineered hinges and rollers in from extruded aluminium allow easy installation and maximum security
All screw fixings are precision engineered screws and they are designed to secure to the aluminium frame to guarantee a solid fix every time.
Seamless gaskets bedded in grooves that run through the entire construction makes for continuous weather seals
The manufacture and construction of the frames is so robust that they can accommodate both double and triple glazing as standard options.
Quality stylish handles and secure locking systems round off that final aesthetic feel.
In order to guarantee strength and security samples of all doors undergo “independent third party testing” which allows us to use the specific accreditations of PAS 24 and Secure by Design Compatibility as part of our sales statements – these two accreditations are the industry standards for security, strength and durability.
Every new WarmCore Homes Bi fold door carries the above ERA “Five Star” security guarantee – a guarantee that runs for ten years and covers you for forced entry through your new bi fold door to find out exactly how far the cover extends visit the “Security “ page of our web site
Bi- Fold doors on line the best buying experience for Bi fold doors without barriers and all from the comfort of your home and of course once installed your new doors will look pretty spectacular.
