Finished the awl a little while back. Sadly, the tip bends when puncturing leather three layers thick. I want it like that for costrels, so that's frustrating. I'll be trying to see if I can fix it. I'm even making a video on dealing with failure, itself an exercise in handling failure in a healthy way.
Still, I learned more about forging delicate things, and I got WAY better at making handles. My riveting still needs work, but I did a better job at handling it than usual, so even there, I'm growing in my craft.

Since my old awl broke, I'm making a (relativly) accurate medieval awl. It works well on a single layer of leather, but needs a thinner profile. Not bad for a first try!

Thank you all for the warmth and kindness. She meant the world to me, and it's hard to see all the places she used to be, without her there. But she gave me so much love I'll never forget, and I'll keep going and always remember her so she can rest well. I'm so deeply lucky that I got to live so much time with her, and all of it wonderful.

Gonna try and get some stuff done today, but I lost my cat yesterday. Had her for 14 years, and she kept so strong. It'll be hard not having her there while I work, asking me to play with her. She was loved so much and gave so much love in return.
