Eldritch Flower
This image has haunted my dreams for YEARS. I have attempted to make it multiple times, and every time I’ve hated the turnout. But not this time. The fifth times the charm, and I have finally made my masterpiece! Bask in its glory for I have achieved wizard van level mastery~!

You can hear it, right? Tell me you can hear it. The rhythm has become louder. i can hear it beating through the walls of this reality. some of you hear it. you follow the song. you follow the rhythm.
the rhythm of the end.
she calls to us from the Void. heaven, hell, and the in-between. it is meaningless when she comes for us. when she calls for us. when the end comes the song stops. when the song stops all will be Silence.
praise the Void. praise the Void. praise the Void. we are One in the sacred Nothingness.
In the absence of creation there is only peace.

A (fairly) detailed write-up on umbra energy
Intro -
Umbra energy is a type of rarely consciously used albeit powerful energy. It’s literally shadow energy but since shadow magic is a very different thing umbra is used instead.
It’s overall incredibly powerful and useful, although a little difficult to work with at first (especially if you’re not aligned with it).
Umbra energy generally doesn’t have much info on it so I figured I’d write up all I know so far to hopefully get people interested in it or at least just tell people it exists haha
Under the cut due to its length:

I am very exicted to study this, though I know it does not begin and end at Lovecraft.

Would you all like a more thorough version of my review of The Sphere of Azathoth? I am not overly sure of my beliefs, but would be willing to reread it to make another review if enough people want it.

Note
Yeah! The first use of the name Hastur was as a benevolent god of shepherds in Ambrose Bierce's "Haita the Shepherd." Chambers picked up the name and used it in a litany of stars in one of the original TKiY stories (I believe that's in The Yellow Sign, specifically, but don't quote me on that). Then HPL used the name, then Derleth used the name for a monster at the bottom of Lake Hali, then the CoC RPG said "Hastur is the true name of The King in Yellow."
huh
i actually really like that idea
Hastur once being some benevolent sheep-god to the people of Carcosa, before the cannibalization of Yhtill that mangled the city beyond recognition on a metaphysical level
and when it was all but complete, the sheep-god was vaulted from the fields beyond the city walls into its throneroom, donning the epithet of the King in Yellow like the masquerade it imposed on the city
it wears a mask that is now its true face, it wears curling black horns of a ram on its crown in mockery of its past lowliness
the lands beyond the city decayed
Hastur is long dead, the King in Yellow is its eternally starving cicada-husk
