i feel like the td fandom only likes alternative characters if being alternative is their only personality. Duncan and Gwen are both alt and they actually have flaws and are complex characters but everyone hates them. Crimson and Ennui are praised in the fandom but they don't have much to their characters other than the fact that they are goth.
