Holy motherf'ing shit, this is The Edge. The genius of the band, the zen dude with his twenty something guitars and that signature U2 sound that has carried me through the good and the bad and many days and nights listening to all the songs in the car, in my room, in my space. Tonight was the opening for his photo exhibit at @arcane.space, displaying his personal photography taken during the Joshua Tree period. If you know me, you know how much the spirit of U2 inspires me and guides me and tonight I just lost my shit in the back corner, the way I did when I visited Hansa Studios in Dublin, where @U2 recorded Achtung Baby. "We had so many more questions than answers. But we had conviction and we had some crazy mission that drove us on, into landscapes so inhospitable but clean and clear and free of cynicism and world-weariness - where the streets have no name." - The Edge (at ARCANEspace)

LCD Soundsystem rocked on a g'damn Monday night, a day when everyone's barely getting their week started. This is how to do your art and if you don't do it like this, I don't want to be a part of it. So fucking good. (at The Hollywood Palladium)

This is Jerry O'Connell in probably one of my fondest memories working on a film set. We spent 14 hours on location working on an Adult Swim show directed by @kavutskiy and @arielgramner@and it was a lovely time. Mr. O'Connell was game for every joke and gag written for him for the entire fourteen hours, he came up with some hilarious ideas and he never complained about having to change in and out of fifteen or so costume changes. But the thing that impressed me the most -- this thing I rarely see anyone ever do, cast or crew --- he'd bump into a crew member and say in a gentlemanly way, "Hi, I'm Jerry, what's your name?" And he did that from crew call to wrap. It's the little things that really make a difference and I'll tell you, it helped galvanize a crew who were already quite weary from prepping what was looking like a twenty hour work day. Take note. Patrick Domingue, from Lafayette, Louisiana, is my oldest friend. We've known each other since college and competed on the same NCAA Division 1 gymnastics team together. After college, we spent six weeks in Ft. Knox, Kentucky for Armor Officer Basic Course before going our separate ways to be 2nd Lieutenants at our respective units. He went to Korea and I went to Germany. A few years after we left the Army, Patrick moved to LA and all hell broke loose. We've seen the sun go down, the sun come up and the sun go back down in the same outing. I drink Captain Morgan and coke in honor of his brother Michael. Something happened in his childhood with his older sisters that made him so fucking anal and once In college, I had to choke him because he didn't follow through with wanting to fire our gymnastics coach, even after years of complaining about him. We've been through many road trips, loves, music shows and most recently, a devastating game 2 loss at the World Series. Patrick is a good egg and his place is always clean. (at Hama Sushi)

Some people blush, some people get scared, some people mistrust, some people run away, and some people don't believe my sincerity. But if you know me, you know how sincere I am and that I always mean well and it makes me genuinely happy when you succeed. Except when you're not grateful. That fucking pisses me off. #idliketohaveawrdwithyou (at Fais Do Do)

Clear and precise communication is the most critical aspect of filmmaking, no matter a short film or a big feature film. Communication is the biggest money saver and the best problem solver and often, the best problem avoider. Communication reveals and resolves and creates unity and efficiency. I never take that for granted. (at Abominable Pictures)

I've been prepping on a comedy project that @maryhollandaise and @mrmattnewell created and are starring in with @ferniecommaalex at the directing helm. I'm overseeing the planning of the filmmaking logistics for this funny show and I'm excited to be a major part of the filmmaking team. We shoot on Wed and I'm excited to help make this comedy. After three years of House, I started dabbling in the comedy scene, starting with taking a UCB class and somehow the Universe has transpired to take me from dramatic television to a much more fun and witty comedy world where I've had quite the filmmaking experiences working with some heavy hitters. I can't even tell you how it all came to be except I just kept showing up for work early and often. I guess it started when I said "yes, and" a few years ago. 🤷🏽‍♂️🕺🏽 (at Abominable Pictures)

Until Thursday night on a school night, I had never heard Somebody played live. The last time I saw Depeche Mode was in Frankfurt, Germany, with Jamie Beardsley, in 1993, for the Devotional Tour. The first time I had ever heard this song, I was 15 years old and my crush at the time, a cute blonde named Jennifer who I met at the Glendale Y, had given me a love letter with the lyrics to this song. The lyrics were beautiful and it very likely shaped the way how I saw the perfect girl. I'm sure it screwed me up. It goes like this: I want somebody to share Share the rest of my life Share my innermost thoughts Know my intimate details Someone who'll stand by my side And give me support And in return She'll get my support She will listen to me When I want to speak About the world we live in And life in general Though my views may be wrong They may even be perverted She'll hear me out And won't easily be converted To my way of thinking In fact she'll often disagree But at the end of it all She will understand me I want somebody who cares For me passionately With every thought and With every breath Someone who'll help me see things In a different light All the things I detest I will almost like I don't want to be tied To anyone's strings I'm carefully trying to steer clear of Those things But when I'm asleep I want somebody Who will put their arms around me And kiss me tenderly Though things like this Make me sick In a case like this I'll get away with it (at Hollywood Bowl)

My man, Robert the bartender, serving me Cadillac margaritas at #elcompadreechopark. Fun to be at a Dodger bar among the locals and yelling #letsgododgers. I'm crapping my pants right now but the Dodgers are leading, 3-2, so I feel alright for the moment. (at El Compadre)

On Friday, the @dodgers embark on the tumultuous and treacherous journey to win 11 games in the postseason to win the World Series for the first time since I was a sophomore at West Point. Some of you weren't even born before the last time the Dodgers won the World Series. For the entire month of October, I will be all about the playoffs and if they don't make it to the World Series, you can bet I will plunge into a deep dark depression that will last for months. But we have unfinished business and this is our year. If you live in LA and aren't tuned in and rooting for the Dodgers, you are wrong. #LetsGoDodgers (at Dodger Stadium)
