Hi, Thank you!
So in this au, Lumine's purification is through absorbing and transferring it to herself and she mostly does it passively/subconsciously (based on how they were surprised to find dvalin's tear purified).
So lumine has been (passively) absorbing corruption from so many occasions especially while in inazuma, the chasm, sumeru, and that place with upside down venti.
For Xiao, he feels calmer/free-er in her presence, because she's passively absorbing his karma. But because he's lived so long and accumulated so much, there's still a lot.
So he still does get attacks from his karma (like that one video mhy posted on yt) and I imagine lumine catching him in some and then actively purifying him (which means she gets to take on more corruption than she does passively)
I also think because lumine is getting more frustrated and angrier during her journey, it gets easier for the corruption to affect her (this girl is a pro at bottling up emotions pls make her stop).
Anyway, I think she does get corrupted away from Xiao's presence, she either flees knowing its affecting her or she thinks she's fine and proceeds on her journey until she gets consumed by the karma and other corruptions where she becomes a threat to Teyvat and so he finds her.

I get the feeling that prior to stranding in Teyvat, they never really formed any meaningful connections with the people of the Worlds they visited, because they always had each other.

Friendly reminder that Rhinedottir's final assignment for Albedo - to discover the "truth and meaning of this world" - is simillar to the Abyss twin's final assignment for Lumine from their last meeting.
Also Albedo's feelings about ascension:
In addition I would like to say that Albedo's/Lumine's attachment to Rhinedottir/Abyss twin is what I would call - poisonous happiness. They should (and must) find healing/love in each other.
What I like about albelumi is that these two have the closest connection/understanding among all others. Our journey is about self realization, finding a purpose in life and adventure. I saw someone described Albedo as a "character that indirectly puts the hero back on track when they're lost or the one that stands beside them when they are alone or feeling hatred/disgust for themselves" and this is another reason why I love Albedo so much. His intelligence. Albedo sees Lumine, hears her, understands her, appreciates her, supports her and loves her. He is committed, communicates clearly with her and creates a safe space to heal, grow and bloom together. He is someone who not only loves Lumine but also respects and supports her journey.
Albelumi is a loving and mutually understanding couple.
Also Albedo is a trickster boyfriend trope type. The tease. With Albedo, Lumine is forgetting what the word "boredom" means xD

It was unusual for the Adeptus to be so straightforward - especially when it involves chasing after his own pleasure or desires. More often than not, he refused to see himself as more than a just a weapon for others to use - someone who does not deserve anything nice in this world.
"Shh...It's okay. I won't stop. I just don't want to rush this either. I want you to enjoy every moment of it." She reassured him, pressing their foreheads together. "There's...something I'd like to try. Just don't freak out, okay?"
Lumine knew he was just as new to all of this as she was. However, just because she is inexperienced, does not mean she is completely ignorant. She has read her fair share of romance novels from Yae Publishing House and some of them depict more 'spicy' scenes as well.
After pressing one more kiss against his lips, she shifted positions to sit down in between the Yaksha's legs, one hand still wrapped around his length before she leant in and tentatively licked the tip, gauging his reaction.
Seeing him so eager and needy only spurred her on even more, one hand wrapped firmly around his throbbing length - pumping up and down - as she pressed soft kisses against his jawline all the way to his lips.
( Ah...His expression is so cute. I want to see more. )
Despite being just as new to all of this, the blonde was picking up on his reactions very quickly, picking up her pace as his breathing became more rapid. She could tell he was incredibly sensitive - most likely due to years of depriving himself from any sort of physical pleasure.

Now that was a tricky question. Should she just tell him that there is another 'version' of himself out there. Technically he should no longer exist in this timeline, but it isn't the first time something odd has happened in Teyvat and certainly it would not be the last either.
At first Lumine was surprised by it as well, but now she had gotten used to it. In her eyes, Kabuki was his own separate entity who could exist independently from the Wanderer.
"I'm sorry if it offended you. But now I no longer thing of you as strange, so don't worry."

Before the blonde even got a chance to protest, she had already been picked up - having no other choice but to let the commissioner carry her to safety.
"I said I'd be fine..." She muttered under her breath, just a little frustrated by his actions. Of course, Lumine knew he was only trying to help her - but she could be incredibly stubborn when it comes to accepting others' aid.
"Can you at least keep this a secret from your sister? Ayaka always becomes terribly worried when I'm reckless on the battle field." Amongst all of the people she had met and befriended in Teyvat, Ayaka was one of her closest friends, so she did not want to see the other girl sad.

"Allow me to help you, Lumine." He offered, he picked up the travler and took her somewhere quiet. "I would feel happier if you were somewhere safer." He smiled at her warmly.
