They may work for electrical contractors, utility companies, or government agencies, and their work may involve anything from installing new electrical systems to repairing existing ones and ensuring that all electrical components are functioning safely and efficiently.

How do you install a bathroom fan without attic access?
Bathroom Fan Installation Shoalhaven
Tumblr media
Not a good idea. The fan itself can be installed by simply putting screws through the side of the box into the ceiling joist above. The real issue is the function of the fan. The whole reason to have a fan is to remove damp air from the bathroom, and send it somewhere else. If you let that damp air into your attic, and hope it finds its way out, you are practically begging for mold issues in your attic, and eventually rot will become a problem. A pipe must be attached, and the other end of it directed into vented soffit, or a gable vent in order to get all of that damp air to the exterior.
Tumblr media
There is an alternative…you can take up some shingles directly above the bathroom, take up a small amount of sheathing, and attach the fan to a ridgid pipe that extends through your roof. Then install a roof pipe flashing while reinstalling the shingles.
For those who don't take my advice…well, you all keep me in business! Please feel free to call me when you notice mold blooms on your ceilings…or when your roof sheathing starts to rot. I don't mean to be rude, but fixing that sort of thing helped me buy my new trick!
Seriously, though…open up some more drywall or the roof if you have to, but make sure the vent pipe for that fan gets to the outside of your home!

Do I need an electrician to finish a smoke detector installation?
Smoke Alarm & Detector Installation | Nowra NSW
Tumblr media
Smoke Alarm & Detector Installation Smoke alarms will detect most fires more quickly than heat detectors. They use a different technology entirely to sense a fire, and there are three types of smoke alarms currently sold:
Ionization smoke alarms contain bits of radioactive material that emit ions that create a faint electrical current between electrodes. When smoke of any amount enters the internal chamber, the current flow is interrupted and the alarm sounds. This type of alarm works best for very fast, fierce fires.
Photoelectric smoke alarms operate using a light source and a photoelectric sensor. When smoke enters the optical chamber and interrupts the path of the light, the light is scattered about by the smoke particles and causes a sensor to activate the alarm. This type of alarm works best for slow, smoldering fires.
Combination smoke alarms use both ionization and photoelectric technologies. The NFPA recommends using smoke alarms that combine both technologies for the best protection.

A level 2 electrician basically is an electrician who is more than qualified and authorized to install, repair and maintain both underground and overhead services which run between the customers and the electrical supply network.
