On Buddha Purnima, may the divine grace of Lord Buddha always be with you. Happy Buddha Jayanti! Buddha Purnima commemorates the birth, attainment of enlightenment, and passing away of Lord Buddha. Also called Buddha Jayanti and Vesak, the festival is observed on the full moon day of the lunar month, which corresponds with the months of April-May. One of the most vibrant celebrations can be witnessed in Sarnath, Varanasi where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon to his disciples. Monasteries and temples are all lit up with bright lights, decorated with flowers, and welcomes devotees, pilgrims, and visitors from around the world. To mark the day, a large fair is held here and relics of the lord are taken out on caparisoned elephants for display. This year due to Covid-19 the event will take place online. Priyanshu Singh #ArtistsAgainstCovid @priyanshusingh.27 is a journalism student and a patient observer of the serenity from Varanasi. He's an adventurous spirit with a camera in hand who not only loves to capture moments of wonder and serenity but also discovering some unsaid stories of the city. His love for photography has also begged him a lot of recognization from platforms like Better photography GoPro challenge 2020, 100 untold stories of India, 35 awards BnW 2020, etc..to name a few! Priyanshu, who is also one of the core team members of @varanasiguru has been working tirelessly to bring beautiful stories of Kashi in form of visuals. Priyanshu along with 11 other artists is trying to raise funds for various under-privileged COVID stricken families who are either having financially hard times or are facing resource scarcity. If you'd buy a print, you'll be sharing a heart for the cause. Probably, we can gift some relief, resources and restore hope to those underprivileged people, children, and families. While you take a keen look at the photographs which are up for the fund-raising cause, you'll find it full of life, yet placid, compassionate and harmonious. Let's hope for the same, for our people, for our Kashi & for our Nation! If you’re unable to donate at this time, there are many other ways you can support us! Tag your friends, family, and favorite influencers in the comments. You can advocate for us by sharing our mission in your circle. Even a quick mention/share on your social media would mean the world to us. #TogetherForKashi #varanasicovid19 #varanasi #banaras #uttarpradesh #uttarpradeshtourism #incredibleindia
