Bugs Bunny isn’t your conventional trickster god - he doesn’t steal or lie; rather he inflicts on us a societal hubris. He traps us in the rules, conventions and expectations we’ve made. Forcing us to go through the niceties of the barbershop or DMV at the times most inconvenient to us. If we didn’t have these rules - if it was twelve thousand years ago and all we had was a snare and a knife, Bugs would be nothing more than a mortal rabbit. But now we have built so much and he has become a god.

Azeban, the Raccoon, is a trickster animal of the Abenaki and Penobscot tribes. His exploits are mischievous, funny, and fairly trivial. Azeban is the main character of many stories aimed at children. He often behaves foolishly or causes trouble for others, but unlike animal tricksters in some other tribes, Azeban is not dangerous or malevolent.

So this whole thing started with this tweet by Twitter user Katie Henry (KT_NRE). I started plowing through newspapers to find every mention of her - and found most that were out there, but a man named Todd Sanders, who had access to Pennsylvania libraries, found quite a few more. All of this takes place in October and November of 1922, before timeskipping to September 1923 (her third escape), October 1923 (her guilty verdict), and March 1924 (her escape attempt with Roxie Starcher).

I have been unable to find her obituary or anything else out there about my new hero.

some of y'all don’t want to improve or get better because you don’t want the responsibility of thinking of people other than yourself as important and worth considering in your actions. you use dysfunction as a cover to be self-centered and bratty and then wonder why no one wants to treat you like you’re important or worth knowing.
