✨I hate San Francisco✨
Like. All these genuinely rich bastards are just walking around while people are fucking dying in the streets, and inside every building is bougie as fuck, and the culture is so selfish there's piss on the streets because no one will let a homeless person use the fucking bathroom.
And then they have the fucking gall to call themselves progressives.
While they're literally HARMING THEMSELVES bc they'd rather do that than just fucking take care of people
They'd rather poor people die and live on the fucking street than they have anything for free
And they act like they're some ✨bastion of liberalism and progressive politics✨
It makes me want to scream
And I can't help everyone and I'm fucking taking psychic damage every single time I have to go outside
And people are walking around, completely numb and unaffected by it
And I'm disgusted

Arkansas SB43, a drag ban bill, passed in the Senate and is now going to the Governor for signing. As a reminder, this bill was amended to remove any reference to drag and is now essentially a public nudity ban. Drag bans restrict access for folks who are gender non-conforming in any way. They loosely define drag as any public performance with an “opposite gender expression”, as sexual in nature, and inappropriate for children. This also pushes trans individuals out of public spaces.
Missouri SB598 is an under-18 gender-affirming healthcare ban intro'd yesterday. Arkansas SB199 was intro'd and sent to the Senate Judiciary Committee yesterday. A medical malpractice bill restricting gender-affirming care for youth. It has a hearing tomorrow 2/8 at 10am in Rm 171. Tennessee HB1378, an under-18 gender-affirming healthcare ban, was assigned to the Health Subcommittee. Montana HB303, a "religious exemption" bill that would allow healthcare discrimination against trans folks, was scheduled for a third hearing. Healthcare bills go against professional and scientific consensus that gender affirming care saves lives. Denying access will cause harm. Providers are faced with criminal charges, parents are threatened with child abuse charges, and intersex children are typically exempted.
Tennessee intro'd 2 school bills: HB1269, a misgendering bill and HB1414, a parental rights bill. Arkansas HB1156 has passed committee and is on the house floor. In Virginia HB1387 and HB2432 passed committee this morning with amendments and are on the house floor Schooling bills force schools to misgender or deadname students, ban instruction on sexual orientation and gender identity, and make schools alert parents if they suspect a child is trans. They remove life-saving affirmation and support for trans youth.
Texas HB1952 was filed yesterday. This bill forces a designation of male or female on birth certificates determined by sex assigned at birth. Sex designation bills make it harder for trans folks to have IDs, such as birth certificates, match their gender identity. They can force a male or female designation based upon sex assigned at birth. Some ban a non-binary “X” marker or require surgery to qualify for ID updates.
Virginia HB1387, a K-12 and collegiate sports ban, passed in the House today and is now moving to the Senate. An action item for next week: Nebraska LB575 has a hearing scheduled for Monday 2/13 at 1:30 pm in Room 1525. This bill bans access to locker rooms and bathrooms consistent with gender identity, in addition to banning trans athletes from school sports Most sports bills force schools to designate teams by sex assigned at birth. They are often one-sided and ban trans girls from playing on teams consistent with their gender identity. Some egregious bills even force invasive genital examinations on student athletes.
The following bills are all in committee in Oklahoma as of today: OK SB30 (forced outing/misgendering bill), healthcare bills OK SB129, OK SB250, OK SB252, OK SB345, OK SB613, OK SB614, OK SB408 (sex definition bill), and OK SB731 (abortion bill with sex definition language)
It's not too late to stop other hateful anti-trans bills from passing into law. YOU can go to <http://transformationsproject.org/> to learn more and contact your representatives

I noticed that if I checked a blog and there were tons of pretty innocuous liberal feminist posts, I would start to tense up, because i’d almost always reach something unmistakably terf-y. going back, I realized that 90% of the ‘innocuous’ posts were always about the victimization of women, invariably caused by men. and that terfs always seemed to show up whenever I or others made posts with that theme. and oh. the incessant focus on the villainy of every single man, that’s the gender essentialism jumping out, before they even announce that they’re terfs.

some disabled people can’t perform any type of labor and that doesn’t make them less human and it doesn’t make them less worthy of love and care and it doesn’t make them less important
and no , I’m not ‘devaluing disabled peoples labor’ and I’m not talking about ‘labor that isn’t paid’ im literally talking about people who are paralyzed or very very ill and literally can’t do anything except move their eyes or fingers. they are really not as rare as you think and I’m sick of folks erasing them constantly to prop up ‘disabled people who are productive’ while acting like it’s leftist

Any form of gender essentialism will come back to suppress not only trans people, but also gender nonconforming cis people, people of colour, those of minority religions, the disabled, the poor, and so many other kinds of people. Gender essentialism (and bioessentialism in general) is antithetical to a just society.

transfemmes i love you, and also please don’t assume that coming out as trans magically scrubs all traces of sexism and misogyny from your brain. we all, regardless of agab, grow up exposed to sexism and misogyny, and we’re all affected by it in one way or another. but we are all responsible for unpacking that shit so we don’t project it onto others. because what happens when someone comes out as trans but continues holding sexist opinions is this:
Tumblr media
no one, by virtue of their assigned sex at birth, is inherently biologically anything. this line of thinking is like basic reddit sexism. it upholds not only the patriarchy but white supremacy as well, and you are not immune from this just because you’re trans. if you find anything acceptable about the screenshotted statement, you need to go back to feminism 101.
i’ve said it before and i’ll say it again: trans people who were assigned male at birth are not somehow inherently more capable of sexism than people who were assigned female at birth. everyone is capable of sexism. but they are also not exempt from perpetuating sexism and misogyny just because they are trans, and they have just as much of a responsibility to unlearn it as the rest of us do. do not use being trans as a shield from consequences when you say things that uphold oppressive systems.

“sharing is not simply about morality, but also about pleasure. Solitary pleasures will always exist, but for most human beings, the most pleasurable activities almost always involve sharing something: music, food, liquor, drugs, gossip, drama, beds. There is a certain communism of the senses at the root of most things we consider fun.”

I'll believe "most cops are good" when bad cops believe it.
But as of now, bad cops are able to be bad in clear view of multiple other cops with full confidence that there won't be a single good cop stopping them or testifying against them.
And this is why they hate cameras. Unlike cops, cameras don't lie.

this is happening at my college right now. i’m in my third year here and everyone i know is like. haha, im in danger.
what they’re doing seems almost illegal, like.. considering desantis brought in the majority of the trustees in one sweep, we didnt even have a chance to dissent their new supermajority firing president okker with no cause. or if it isn’t, it should be illegal, there’s literally no checks and balances happening here. no democracy involved. genuine fascism at work, it’s actually absurd. extremely fucking filthy and despicable political ploy.
yesterday wrt the board of trustees meeting, a student commented, “The fact they are playing [the college president] like she's a game and she is sitting at that table CRYING is something that shakes me.”
this is who they replaced our president with
Tumblr media
they don’t care about education or the students at all. they don’t care. we’re chess pieces to them.
