stxicherxics:
Shouto had always managed to lead himself right into inconvenient situations. His perception and hyper-awareness of most disturbances often curiously dragged him towards a certain noise or a certain smell or just about anything that could have been picked up by one of his senses and carried all the way back to the source.
In this case, it had lead him to a friend. One who was all but curled up on the floor. He blinked ( only once, a soft blink - like the one a cat gives you as a sign of warmth and affection, though yours holds much more confusion ), looking to the side momentarily before taking a few steps closer and kneeling to her level.
The behavior that Uraraka ( the name brings to you the same softness of the cat’s gaze and blink ) was displaying was all too familiar to him. Mismatchedeyes took a glance down at trembling hands and he let out a soft breath as she apologized once more. The first apology had gone right past his ears, brain much too shocked in the moment to process it but this one was much more clear.
“It’s fine,” he said softly, quietly.
Panic attacks were tricky, the cause was known to none but the very person experiencing it and the smallest thing could throw it back into action if not cautious. “Just.. Breathe. Um.. Follow mine,” he instructed, starting to breathe in and out slowly and visibly, making sure to make the few second pause between the inhale and the exhale apparent.
“Four seconds in.. Hold.. Eight seconds out.”
— ochaco listened to the bi - colored boy obediently , sure to breathe slowly as instructed . she was quite grateful for the other && appreciated his instruction greatly ; it meant a lot to her that he cared , && it especially meant a lot because in her state she couldn’t think clearly . though she wasn’t very happy about the other seeing her like this , her discomfort eased as she continued trying the breathing techniques , being sure to count each time .
as she carefully breathed , she found herself beginning to relax , && the thoughts that were so overwhelming in her head began to dull down , && she found herself beginning to calm . she wished that she would’ve tried this in the past , but the past was irrelevant . it was only the present that mattered ; a mindset that she needed to have normally .
( everything will be okay . )
❛ thank you , ❜ she said softly , wiping away her tears . she was still just a little shaky , but she was definitely better than how she was doing before . ❛ i - i hope that wasn’t too much trouble or anything . i appreciate it a lot . ❜
