Small Sins

Buffalos kill 7 people every year. Lions kill 500 people every year Hippos kill 800 people every year. Spiders kill 5000 in people every year. Scorpions kill 7000 people every year. Snakes kill 10000 people every year.

Guess what? Mosquitoes kill 2, 7 million people every year. The smallest are the deadliest.

Small ‘sins’, hardly noticed by us, are the most deadly to our spiritual life. Avoid excuses for not serving Allah. Sins of omission are just as deadly as sins of commission. White lies, gossiping, small lies, are committed more frequently and are deadly. Mind those little compromises that we do daily. They are the ones that will bring us downfall.

When lovers are not able to meet, the best thing is to send a book or a letter. The lover reads that letter over and over. That is what the Qurʾān is - a book, a letter from Allāh (ﷻ). From the Beloved, to you. And because you love Allāh (ﷻ), you read it over and over.

Dan setiap orang dimudahkan segala sesuatu yg untuknya sesuatu itu diciptakan. Mungkin ketika sudah sama sama menggapai mimpi namun bisa jadi justru dipersatukan untuk menggapai mimpi bersama. 15 things i’ve learned in 2015:

wait for Allah’s choice. you won’t be disappointed. 

there are years that will teach you patience and years that will teach you gratitude. both are equally important. 

be open to new, scary things. 

solitude is one of the biggest blessings in a busy world.

those extra prayers will bring you so much peace. 

don’t run after anyone who doesn’t make an effort to make you feel wanted and loved.

being unable to make friends at a new place doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with you. or them.

travel. explore. realize how small but important you are to your Creator.

life is about taking risks and being vulnerable and embracing change.

stay lowkey about every blessing you don’t want stolen from you. remember that “not everyone deserves a seat at the table of your life.”

social media is a curse more than it is a blessing. 

be patient with yourself. you’ve come so far.

Jika Tuhan yang Mempersatukan, Lalu Kita Bisa Apa?

Sekedar share: Kira-kira begitulah salah satu hikmah yang saya petik dari perjalanan saya ke negri turunnya Islam. Dimulai ketika saya akhirnya memutuskan untuk berangkat umroh bersama ibu dan adik saya. Ya kami bertiga berencana berangkat bersama, ditambah nenek dan paman saya. Situasi nya saat itu saya benar-benar dalam keadaan emosi yang sangat labil, karena baru saja kehilangan pekerjaan. Well not literally loosing, tp lebih tepatnya saya mengundurkan diri. However, that's kind of 'loosing jobs' anw. untuk ukuran bocah 23 tahun kehilangan pekerjaan itu cobaan yang bisa dibilang lumayan mengguncang jiwa. Bukan berarti tidak percaya kalau rezeki sudah ada yg mengatur, tetapi honestly sempat mengusik emosi dan kepercayaan diri saya. (well we're not going to talk about that) Ternyata cobaan ga berhenti disana, Allah masih ingin menyapa. Sekitar 2 minggu sblm keberangkatan hati ini di ombang-ambingkan. Satu hari travel agent yg saya gunakan mengatakan saya bisa berangkat bersama keluarga saya, di hari lainnya mereka mengatakan tidak bisa. Beberapa kali berubah hingga jujur saya sempat menyerah. Hingga akhirnya saya terpisah rombongan dengan ibu dan adik saya. Saya berangkat tgl 23 Dec dr Jakarta sedangkan ibu saya berangkat tgl 25 Dec dr Yogyakarta via KL. Bagaimana rasanya? Sedih tentu saja. Berkali2 saya berusaha meyakinkan hati saya bahwa memang ini jalan terbaik menurut Allah meskipun dalam hati masih dongkol2nya bahkan marah kepada travel agent tsb. I feel so lost. 22 December ba'da maghrib (kurang dari 6 jam sblm penerbangan ke jeddah.) Dalam perjalanan menuju makan malam keluarga saya mendapat telfon dari biro perjalanan yg menginfokan kalau penerbangan kami dibatalkan karena permasalahan visa. Innalillahi. Sudah habis rasanya air mata ini. Kering. Keajaiban Allah, alhamdulillah 25 December kami berangkat menuju Jeddah. Keesokan paginya setiba di Jeddah kami langsung menuju madinah. Pukul 4 seusai sholat tahajjud sebelum subuh, iseng mengirim SMS ke ibu saya menanyakan apa beliau sudah tiba di madinah. Surprisingly! Beliau membalas : Ibu sudah di masjid nabawi, di depan pintu 24-23. Semenjak saat itu, kami selalu pergi ke masjid bersama2,baik di madinah maupun di makkah. Kebetulan hotel kami juga bersebelahan. Sungguh sesuatu yang tidak pernah disangka-sangka. Subhanallah! Maha Besar dan Maha Kuasa Allah. Manusia berusaha memisahkan tapi jika Allah yang Mempersatukan, kita bisa apa? Selalu selalu ada hikmah dr setiap musibah yang bisa kita ambil. Tulisan ini sengaja ditulis untuk teman-teman yang mungkin sedang putus asa, menghadapi masalah atau kehilangan harapan. Please love your self, never loose hopes and put your trust in Allah :)
