“THE TURN OUT’S GREAT!”
And there’s the boy. Rosa breaks away from Nate to give him a big squeeze, absolutely beaming. “HEY! WE GOT HERE JUST IN TIME? SWEET!” This is gonna be good. Rosa knows that big angry boy has ulterior motives too.

Nate was dressed in a clean t shirt, light jacket, and his jeans. Because he doesn’t have his usual visor on though, his hair actually looks fairly cute but still voluminous. Regardless, he pulls his snack bag closer to his body to try to save it from the smoke and hungry hands as he slips and slides through the crowd with Rosa to an empty table that’s been reserved for them.

And wow do they look so cute!
They put so much effort into looking nice and here’s Hugh, dressed as he usually is – Well his jacket was off so he was in his muscle shirt. So there’s a change.
“GUYS! YOU MADE IT! WE’RE IN INTERMISSION BUT MY GROUP IS UP NEXT! I’M SO GLAD YOU COULD MAKE IT!”

A small commotion at the door is quickly quieted by Rosa’s fast wit and connections. Once the duo were inside, she tiptoes and looks about for Hugh - It’s difficult for her to see over the crowd, being so short. She’s hanging onto Nate’s arm and wearing a soft pink dress with white socks and matching ribbons, complete with pink shoes.
In order to be heard over the crowd she has to shout, “DO YOU SEE HUGH ANYWHERE?” She could feel the music thudding in her chest and the air was musty, but not in a bad way. It was more like a mix of people stuck together, combined with cigarette smoke.

Today was the day – THAT day!
Hugh’s first ever gig! Three songs for him to play, on an original and he’d be up soon. Right now they were in intermission and he was simply laying on the stage in this fancy little bar, waiting… And waiting. And –
Were they here yet? HAVE they been here? He wouldn’t know, hes been backstage with the crew he had been paired up with for this gig. Gosh, his heart was pounding, palms sweaty moms spaghetti … … …
He sat up and looked out to the crowd hoping to spot his two besties or at least one of them. He hoped they’d be okay here too. Gosh diddly darn – UGH! Checking the time – Still sometime for intermission. Time to get up and go look for Nate and Rosa!

Hugh then inhales, makes a gross sound then – PTHOO. He SPITS on the person on the ground before standing up to dust himself off.
“It’s not fine. This asshole has no idea what they’re talking about.” Anger strikes once more and his foot is on the persons head, slowly applying pressure to dig their face into the ground.
He spares a glance over to Rosa and asks - “You don’t believe anything they said, do you?”
“...” Does she believe anything they’re saying about her? It’s hard to tell because Rosa keeps her expression neutral, and her gaze blank. “... no. Of course I don’t believe that.” She has to keep Hugh level headed or - At least try to, so she squeezes his arm and tries to drag him away from anon who totally isn’t her mun
“They’re just trying to get a rise out of you. It’s not worth giving them your attention anymore.” Sighing, she rubs her forehead and looks exhausted. “Same with anyone else who says whatever about anyone you care about. Okay?” But it did hurt very deep down because in a way, they were right. She wasn’t good at battling, and this hollow, empty career was a false attempt to be happy with herself.

you know, you were right when you said rosa likes to stick her nose in places it doesn't belong. she doesn't have any real talent, the only reason she's famous is she has a pretty face. i bet she slept with some of the movie producers ... how else would someone as bad at battles and acting as her get so famous? you really should have kept her from the movie career and not just the championship.

“I DIDN’T keep her from ANYTHING. I kept her out of harms way. I –” Was extremely unfair. Extremely selfish. A bad friend to her. My words came out wrong that day, I could never apologize enough. she shouldn’t forgive me, shouldn’t love me shouldn’t keep me around.
Anger. Anger at himself and the person DARING to talk this way about Rosa to him. With fists balled up, he throws the hardest punch to their teeth imaginable. That crunching noise shouldn’t be so satisfying… And yet, it is.
“She’s talented. She deserves that movie star spot. She deserves all she has and more, she deserves the world.” And a hard kick to the others nether regions. “She did NOT sleep around with the producers. She’s not like that. Rosa works HARD for what she has, for what she wants. She doesn’t cheat like others do. Don’t you EVER insinuate that she’d stoop THAT low to get what she wants.”
One more punch? Yeah, one more punch to their face.
With a heavy sigh, Hugh sits down and glares hard at the other as if daring them to say anything more, as if daring them to retaliate. And now he couldn’t help but to wonder…
Are Nate and Rose happy with the positions they’re in or did he push them into positions that made them unhappy…?
