“Hmm?” She looks up from the small pile of paperwork on her desk to meet Hilbert’s deep-set eyes beneath furrowed brows. Whatever it is he wants to discuss must be important.
She sets her pen down. “Uh, sure. I’ve got a minute. Is here alright?” She gestures around the Champion’s office. “Or would you prefer somewhere else?”
“This is fine. Probably best since you’re already sitting down. Sorry to impose like this”
There’s a sigh as hand lifts to rub the nape of his neck. At the very least there’s someone left doing the right things, it’s almost like he can see a bit of himself in her work ethic...or should he say who he used to be. No more joy in in the fight, less desire to help people because of their own stupidity.
It almost begs the question why even show up here then? Rosa was different than the rest of the sheep. No, she was far superior to every single one of the who even considered that ridiculous talk they both went through.
He doesn’t other sitting himself. No point.
“You look great by the way. Unfortunately I’m here to sit you down about what happened as someone who understands in a way. Not that we went through exactly similar things but I’m your best bet for finally accepting it. It’s time to talk about it and let both our scars heal.”

“It could be~.” it’s soon after he bursts into laughter, “Kidding. I have no interest in bribes or any need for them. So it would seem this is useful information to you and no one would suspect the man from out of town. Call it a...win win. As for the flower-” he fumbles in his pocket before pulling out a rubberband and using that to tie the flower to her...head? Hilt? Trivial detail, “Call this a gift from a new friend.”

It is indeed not helping but, it’s not like Xavier holds a grudge over it or anything. Granted Hilbert’s Unovan, not Kalosian, so Xavier holds not really much authority over him. But it’s hard to shut off the want to make people happy, from within Kalos and outside of it.
“I only know the most basic of details I will admit,” he attempts to explain. “But… frankly a royal family shouldn’t act the way Unova’s did. It shouldn’t act the way Kalos’ does either though, so I guess we’re even?”
He shrugs helplessly, but happily nods to the second question.
“When I was still a new trainer I’d visit a lot of regions pretty often and so I visited the Battle Subway plenty.”
Originally the topic switch was meant to put it behind them as it isn’t as if he’d hold any power over him either way but there is a blank stare as he states Unova’s royalty shouldn’t act that. A few blinks as the guy continued but Hilbert’s too baffled to immediately respond, instead still looking at Xavier like he has seven heads.
Well at minimum the two were likeness in naivety.
It’s then he starts into a fit of laughter. One may assume it’s disrespectful or as if he isn’t taking the other seriously but it was truly funny to him. Maybe this guy has extra benefits to his personality than previously thought.
“Hahaha, ahem.” clearing his throat he took a breath, “You think Unova has a- man that’s funny. You see the ‘royalty’ Unova had was some crazed old man labeling a specially chosen man a ‘king’ to try and rid us of our only defense in our Pokemon by saying it’s hurting them and we are selfish. Something out of weirdo left field right? Luckily that ‘king’ smartened up when psycho ‘dad’ revealed his true plans.”
A sigh. Reliving that was never a fun time but at least it was lead into with a laugh. Not that he knows where N went after they reunited after helping out the next hero after him but that’s neither here or there.
“As far as even we were never uneven, I just make it a habit to not trust anyone right off the bat anymore that’s all. Doesn’t mean you can’t lend a hand when needed though right? But good you have experience with it, great! What’s say one day you and I meet up in my home region and get to know each other better there?”

“Oh no you’re not intruding, frankly I appreciated the call back to reality after that.” He replied with a nervous laugh, though he was finally starting to feel more like himself.
The idea that’s offered to him however… he does think about it a little bit. He feels a bit guilty about it but then again, maybe it’d get a laugh from Jon at least? Or would it just be insulting? Maybe that’d be a question for Dani…
“You might have a point there. I have no idea what would ever startle him though, he doesn’t seem like he’s scared of anything. Like he thrives on fear.”
Hmm thrives on fear? Sounds kind of like some psychopath he crossed paths with but while he’s skeptical there has to be a difference right? Well again it isn’t his problem so worst case scenario it’s up to the other to handle it.
Though to get to someone like that would take knowing him well enough. Thinking about it his first guesses ae control or even kindness, but the most logical would be not showing fear which is...well judging by the recent state not practical. Man Cheren would be really useful here.
“Everyone’s got something that will get through to them. Fear is just the most basic, I know a few that kindness is their weakness. Your best bet is to see if anyone you know might have a clue as it doesn’t seem like a straight threat from someone intimating is enough.”

Well that’s not entirely a good sign but if it’s harmless it’s not really any of his business, “That right? Well pardon my intrusion I didn’t intend to interfere.” he moves to turn but halts for a second, “You know, a good relationship is fifty-fifty. Maybe what you need is a one good payback.”

PROMPTS I’D LIKE TO RECEIVE, PART 1.
[ 🤝 ] how does your muse approach intimacy? are they hesitant, or do they like it? what types of intimacy do they like and dislike? (ex. physical intimacy, sexual intimacy, emotional intimacy, etc.)
It is weird when it boils down to it. Platonic intimacy is natural to him as long as he knows you and he’s very showing of it with hugs, hand holding, and the like. Standard viewpoints of such a thing held only for a significant other is an idea he believes is only hurting people.
Romantically the physical touches are are surefire way to ground him and he loves it. Even during moments where it may seem like it’s not working, it’s one-hundred percent it. Here is where hesitation starts to set in on his part as he doesn’t want to come off as clingy or seem overly attached.
To say sexually he’s not curious would be a lie but as poster boy for virgo the virgin inexperience means confusion. Not that he cares much about it in the first place. Would it be nice? Sure, he guesses. Does it matter? Nor really.
Emotionally he’s a mixed bag. For those that know him it’s easy to see Hilbert latches onto the few emotional connection he has, yet it is easier to form these with his Pokemon than with people. There is a reason his Serperior and Liligant are so protective/worried about him because he’s searching for the tie that will give him that stability he lost. Cheren and Bianca being the only outliers
