          satomi wasn’t sure how to say it. she’d never confessed her feelings to anyone before. well, that was because she’d never had feelings for anyone before. she’d never intended to have a high school romance. when she moved to tokyo, she wasn’t confident that she would even have friends.

          she glanced up at him and swallowed the lump that grew in her throat. “i’m not uncomfortable with it,” she said, voice still just a murmur. “it’s just, um… well, when we started this, i didn’t expect to fall for you…”

          immediately, satomi turned her gaze away, grey eyes falling to the floor. she shouldn’t have said anything, their friendship would be ruined now. 

     there were a lot of days and nights spent praying that this would actually happen. but now that is has, tetsurou isn’t sure how to proceed. in spite of his looks and attitude, he has little confidence in his prowess with girls that he’d better spend indulging in his passions. the confession makes him freeze, the tips of his fingers burning with anxiety as he stared at her, and she stared at the ground. 

     “ it’s not something that you have to sound so ... sad about. “  he starts, brows furrowing. rising from his chair, he approaches satomi slowly, as though she would shatter into a million pieces if he broke pace. reaching out, he grabs her shoulders and pulls her into his arms, enveloping her in a warmth that he never knew that he could offer. it feels different. strange. but it's good, and it feels right. 

     “ i fell for you, too. it was ... before we started this, and i couldn’t bring it up. i was too happy with pretending to date you because i couldn’t tell if you felt the same way. “

     “ cake!? “

          “u-um, kuroo-san…” 

          her voice came out quiet, hesitant and unsure. even though she’d rehearsed her speech over and over in her mind all day, her nerves got the better of her. her fingers fiddles with her sleeves and her feet shuffled awkwardly on the floor. 

          it was just the two of them left in the club room – everyone else had gone home, even kenma, who usually walked home with the captain. 

          “this fake dating thing… is it something you want to keep up? i don’t want you to feel like you have to do this for me, because i’m sure you’d rather have the opportunity to date someone you actually like.”

          if she had the guts, if she could psyche herself up to be bold just once, she could tell him the truth; she no longer wanted to keep up the act because she wanted to actually date him.

     even kenma had left him behind for the day. tetsurou surmises that it has something to do with how actively nervous their manager as been, and it’s easy to tell that it most definitely is his problem. he closes the folder of logs when she addresses him, not knowing what to expect. it feels like it’s been a while since she’d had anything this serious to say. 

     if the happy little world that he’d built around their situation had a time to crash and burn, he really wished it wouldn’t be now. 

     his stomach sinks, and he falters to come up with words that can appease the both of them — especially when they aren’t sure of each other’s feelings.

     “ i’m content, though. “  he states, nerves touching the edges of his words.  “ this isn’t really out of my way, but if it’s something that you’re not comfortable with, then we don’t have to keep it up. what’s on your mind? “

this blog is still super low-activity and i’m really sorry!! i just haven’t had time for writing in general because i recently became a business owner and am closing on a house soon. there are a lot of changes and stressors in my life right now that make it hard for me to settle down and write, whether it be from actual obstructions or just not having the right brain space for it. i’m still lurking and can be found on discord, but things should start getting better for me in the next month or so.

    as  lovely  as  seven’s  presence  can  be,  especially  in  chatrooms  where  his  energy  is  practically  booming,  miho  couldn’t  help  but  stare  at  concern  at  the  response  she  was  given.  how  the  redhead’s  brain  functioned  was  a  enough  of  a  mystery  in  itself,  though  she  couldn’t  help  but  deeply  frown.  sure,  she  was  being  a  hypocrite  given  how  she’s  the  farthest  thing  from  healthy   ——  however  !!  she  at  least  tries  to  stuff  her  stomach  with  something  that’s  fairly  healthy  from  time  to  time  when  it’s  practically  crying  for  decent  food.

     essentially having raised himself, saeyoung’s judgment in what he should be eating in which quantities raised valid concern from all directions. both rika and v had tried to at least steered him in the right direction; but despite his willful stubbornness to eat his favorite snack at all times of the day, he was still fit and strong, and somewhat healthy. there wasn’t any way that they could complain when he was coming out just fine. happily, he continues to indulge with his treat, the end of his fourth bag of the day on the horizon.

     miho’s head emerges from the doorway into the view of the cctv camera. for a moment, he catches himself thinking about how cute she is — but just as quickly, he shakes the thought out of his head. there are more important things to do than to fantasize! keeping an eye on the situation at rika’s apartment is important, especially when he’s hardly made any headway with the situation regarding the hacker that had gotten her in there in the first place.

     kiyoko only touches his face for very specific reasons, the gesture articulate enough to draw him in as he stares into her silver gaze. what she wants is something that he will not deny her — not now, and not ever, if only because the same question circles his mind in the exact same manner. he could not imagine a time where he would not want her affections, and so he indulges, hands laying upon her hips and drawing her closer. he leans down, offering himself to her as though he were surrendering to her, and allowing her to place a kiss upon his lips.

     hajime has lost count of the number of sit-ups he’s done. at some point, he’d begun to focus solely on the effort to rise from the floor, supported by his girlfriend’s weight that keeps his heels locked to the floor. he wonders if she is keeping count at all, or if she’s just staring — the way that he meets her gaze at the peak of every repetition only serving to drive him further; if not to impress her, than to impress himself. he had already allowed her the upper hand in a treadmill, and now boasts the muscles that are more necessary to him.

     on his final repetition, his aching muscles begin to stutter, burning as he struggles to make it up. a growl slips between his gritted teeth, a drop of sweat trickling down his brow. with what feels like the last of his abdominal strength, hajime pulls himself all the way up, and then forward to catch his breath. a few moments of breathing, followed by a soft「オツカレ」that comes with his bottled sports drink. he brings down his legs, sitting cross-legged as he accepts the bottle, taking a few gulps. he stops, though, when he feels kiyoko’s hand make contact with his belly, perhaps complimenting his efforts.

     「あんまり触るな。俺、汗臭いよ。」

     “ well ... i’ve been told worse. “  zagreus shrugs, a sheepish smile on his lips. he isn’t sure how proud he should be to earn a respect that doesn’t feel like respect. he does not feel like what he is doing would warrant any deference from the people of the house, but it is alright to be wrong from time to time if it means getting a pleasant surprise.

    “ h-hey, orion!? “  paimon gasps, weighted out of the air by the affectionate gesture. she lets herself come down to the seamstress’s level, fingers brushing hair out of her face. it has been a long time since anyone has dared to make contact with her in such a manner. the little god feels awkward, unsure of how to console her.

    she could think about what might be the cause for orion’s tears, but doesn’t have the will to put her omniscience to it. instead, she focuses on her dearest friend, hoping that anything would stop her from crying.
