i can’t believe i missed this entirely i think tumblr wants me to die a death of complete non-interaction with anyone on flumblr 😭 SO! here i am at last.
35. how does your character behave around people they like?
i think the general has *very* dry and slightly macabre humour by virtue of the horrors of war, and i equally think he’s aware that this is not quite socially acceptable (particularly in the rather high society situations FL loves to put PCs into). so that comes out a lot more. he’s not exactly chatty on terms of small talk or life updates, but he’s willing to get into discussions or debates about almost anything. he absolutely argues with people as a form of bonding
the diplomat… she’s very effusive and expressive. she uses a lot of words to say not very much, and that doesn’t stop when she likes you. but i think generally when she’s friends with someone she talks less and listens more - it’s only polite to engage with them on equal ground! she *will* drag you out for functions and teas and promenades whether you like it or not, and if you don’t like it she will loan you a book on etiquette so you *learn* to, if not like it, at least do it correctly.
36. how does your character behave around people they dislike?
the general is absolutely and totally transparent when he doesn’t like someone. every sentence becomes curt and abrupt, he only says what’s necessary, he’ll pepper his speech with “sir” or “ma’am” or your ungendered title to an extent that honestly makes it feel more like he’s making fun of you than respecting you. he will be snide, he will side-eye you. It Is Obvious.
the diplomat becomes, if it is possible, *more* eloquent. she either runs circles around you (if you have less status than her) or carefully evades stating any contradictions directly (if you outrank her). she has a particular way of using her body language to make it seem like she isn’t getting any closer to you than absolutely necessary for fear you might either soil her pristine self or reprimand her for being uncouth. the general treats you exactly the same if you’re a noble he doesn’t like as he would if you were a particularly annoying street urchin. the diplomat knows how to communicate exactly *how* she doesn’t like you, and how to make it work in her favour according to your status

Fallen London and Sunless Seas/Skies fans, please check this out

Not only is it a very well made song about a semi-obscure piece of media that I love with all my heart, but it's an entire 12 minute musical, with at least four individual character's songs. Did I mention full set and costumes, excellent word play, and that it's just full of bangers?
Plus in true Fallen London style, all of the characters featured (except Mr. Pages) are OCs of Stupendium, with some very cool queer rep too. Also I can just tell this had a lot of effort put into it and I love it a lot and want more people to see it and ahhhh
And don't worry about spoilers! It doesn't spoil anything about Fallen London or Mask of the Rose (which I have not played yet so that is much appreciated.)
