My older brother recently moved out and as a kid he was super into DBZ. My younger brother and I found his old figures today in the attic and we’ve been cackling about this Vegeta because Look At Him

I think it’s Akira Toriyama’s tendency to give the same face to all of his characters. I mean, even this Master Roshi figure has a similar look!
Seriously weird figure. The sculpt is gorgeous but Gohan’s facial features are totally wrong, and while I know he’s wielded swords in the canon neither had a design remotely like that.
Worse though is this Gogeta-
Again, it’s beautifully detailed but since when did he wear shorts?

Sephiroth? Who’s that? Here’s a nice figure of Trunks though. It really captures his dangerous yet beautiful charm!

To continue my series of Dragon Ball theme park merch, here’s a Vegeta eye mask sold at Universal Studios in Japan. Ah, nothing like glaring intimidatingly at people even as you sleep! …with the image used having Vegeta’s head at an angle, there is no way for his eyes to line up with the wearers, so it looks goofy as heck if actually used for its intended purpose.

So! As I mentioned in my prior post, a Dragon Ball themed amusement park has been announced, and I am using this as an excuse to make a series of relevant posts.
A few years ago Universal Studios in Japan offered a special attraction for Dragon Ball fans, “Dragon Ball Z The Real 4-D.” It was one of those short movies where the theatre interacts with the film by hitting the audience with water/air blasts/ whatever to ‘enhance’ the experience. You can find the 3D animated video from the attraction on youtube and I recommend you do, it’s worth a watch. But more importantly, they released a bunch of merch you could only get in the park!
….or on ebay, if you’re me and couldn’t manage a trip to Japan.
My favorite item?
Behold the glory of my Frieza… cup? You strap him on to your body and sip the fluids.
Mine has a busted horn, these things happen when you buy used. I intend to repair him some day. Wait, Muffuletta, did YOU break him?!
How do you drink? Why, you suck on the straw of course! Which happens to be his tail.
Yeah.
Well, I have done extensive research (by which I mean read a lot of naughty fanfic) and can confirm he is okay with this as long as you don’t bite!
Will this smug guy be available to buy in the new park? Probably not. But he’s relevant and so I am finally posting about him after meaning to for… literally years. Whoops.

Ages ago I was asked about the other wall and keep forgetting to share it but yeah. The Dragon Ball Super cast watches you pee and critiques your hydration status then Naruto and friends make sure you wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
...this is a real bathroom in a restaurant in Little Tokyo that I visited yesterday.
I had to drop my pants with the cast of DBS watching.

Completely devastated to hear Akira Toriyama has left us. Dragon Ball had an incalculably huge impact on my life. Rest in peace.
Of course I find out while I’m on vacation and don’t have access to my figures to take a nice proper memorial post photo, but here’s a serene pic of Crotchku on the beach. I hope it’s beautiful and peaceful wherever that man’s soul is. Thanks for everything.
