The fighting separates them, but he doesn’t bat an eye as the swarms descend on them. Overcoming insurmountable odds has been their mainstay for so long, there seems no reason to expect anything different this time around. Suddenly, though, Elias is proven horribly, horribly wrong. He feels it before anything; the blade piercing Alana’s flesh as the searing pain of it tears through his own. He turns in her direction and lets loose a shrill wail as he watches her collapse lifelessly to the ground; his anguish reverberating with The Force and letting loose a massive shockwave that clears away anything and anyone between them. He’s at her side quick as lightning, but it’s already too late and he knows it even as he lifts her small, limp body in his arms. Their bond denies him even the illusion of there being any flicker of life left; of calling her name and begging her not to leave him behind before her spirit rejoins The Force. No, he is all too aware as tears fall freely from his eyes that all he has left is the hollow husk of what she once was.

Elias grips Alana’s body tight and rocks back and forth as he mourns. He mourns that the person who most wanted peace had to die in battle. He mourns for all the time she spent being burdened as The Living Force’s vessel; shackled by all the galaxy’s deaths and pain and suffering and kriffing purpose, bearing it all as though it was solely her burden. Most of all, he mourns the loss of her seemingly boundless love; big enough to be felt for every single living being in the galaxy and yet still somehow found the room to love him most of all. She who knew him more deeply and completely than even he himself yet never once saw fit to call him ’monster’.

He is only permitted a moment to indulge in his grief before their enemies regroup and advance once more, emboldened by felling one of their targets. His grief and his pain become fuel as he taps into a piece of himself long since locked away. His eyes become alight with fury as his sabers ignite and he lays waste to the assailants until he is the only living soul left on the battlefield.

When it is done, he falls to his knees beside Alana’s body, but he does not reach for it. A piece of him has been carved out from his soul, and without that familiar everpersence of her soul brushing against his, he feels empty.

He feels a deep chill set in that spreads through the whole of him, and knows with a devastating certainty that he will never truly feel warmth ever again.

No matter how skilled, how experienced, or how well armed, the one enemy no warrior can defeat is time. It’s a cruel truth, and crueler still is how Boba Fett and those around him have convinced so many for so long that it may not be so set in stone. It’s this all too convincing lie that leaves them all blindsided in the heat of battle when the mighty Mandalore is felled by, of all things, a lucky shot. A young punk fires a bolt and even though the once bounty hunter sees it coming, he’s too slow, too old, and it manages to slip through a gap in the armor not protected by the mythical beskar. The assailant is more immediately taken down as a well placed shot to the head is their repayment for the prior moment’s fortune, but then Boba drops to a knee clutching the still smoldering entry point of the injury torn clean through his torso.

It’s Elias who first clocks something is wrong, and he cuts his way to the other man and pulls him to cover while the rest of their squad fights on. An appraisal of the wound reveals its severity, and eyes meet where he knows Boba’s are with a pained concession in them as he knows how far they are from medical aid and how little time they have left to acquire it.

The old man withering away before him has been many things over a storied life; mercenary, leader, son, father. Of all Boba’s many titles, Elias has always cherished one most of all; friend, though such could not have always been said of the two of them.

In their first interactions, they could more aptly be described as involuntary co-conspirators as opposed to anything even approaching positive, yet even as he wanted to tear the bounty hunter’s head off The Fourth Brother held a begrudging respect for the other’s skill. That didn’t keep the Inquisitor from attempting to end the bounty hunter at any given opportunity, but it remained true throughout.

Even as time passed and they became new daimyo and would be mercenary, this… professional acknowledgement persisted. Elias was grateful when it turned out to be mutual to enough of a degree to earn him work from the newly self promoted crime lord; making Boba the first to take a chance on the aimless free agent whose craven appearance obscured any sense of competence from previous hopeful employers. At a time when resources were few and allies fewer still, Boba provided unexpected shelter from the storm.

And so things persisted; a cordial and professional relationship that pleasantly endured through the years, with something of a friendship forming over the course that gave each man someone to comm in a pinch. Little was shared of the lives they led outside their interactions, so the surprise Elias felt when one day Boba set foot onto Felucia and it turned out they both shared a bond with Rey; chosen daughter to them both. Elias would never have expected such a thing, and even less so did he expect the opportunity for the two relics to each see behind the other’s proverbial mask and find a spirit exceptionally kindred.

They’ve run the relationship gauntlet; from near enemies to true family, the latter of which each has so precious little. To lose such a bound fills Elias with a helplessness he is woefully ill-equipped to handle, but he manages to hold off from succumbing to hysterics.

and as their time together comes to a close, Elias mourns. Despite the sorrow he feels welling up, he does not dare weep while yet in the Mandalore’s sight. Instead, he reaches out his hands towards Boba’s helmet. There’s a moments hesitation before he removes the helm from the other man’s head and looks into eyes that hold not an ounce of fear for the encroaching dark. He places a gentle hand behind Boba’s head and closes his eyes as he brings their foreheads together

“You were supposed to outlive me, you old cockroach.”

Elias stays at Boba’s side until the other passes, and though he is still pained, he finds some solace that the warrior met their end in battle, and took down their killer on the way.

“ Ni su'cuyi, gar kyr'adyc, ni partayli, gar darasuum... Ret'urcye mhi, vod.”

With Boba gone, Elias makes the familiar conversion of his pain into focus, and sets out to unleash his fury on what remains of their enemies in the immediate area. Boba is dead, and he would never abide that death be an impediment in the protection of the living.

No swamps or deserts, the weather never gets super cold. i don't even know what kind of stories we'd write. but honestly, i'm living for the idea of salty bros that hate each other as fiercely as they'd fight for each other. because i don't know what elias would be, if he's from earthrealm or what, but i'm sure he's gonna wanna strangle the prince of alderaan.

actual princeling? of an entire realm? probably banished? homeworld probably got taken over by outworld? and the force mixed with the brutality of mk? he's gonna be a terrifying, jacked-up version of rain with a personality just as obnoxious ( i say out of total love for my edenian trash bag ). that versus elias? especially an elias who is the same age as him? i'm already cackling at the dynamic. they'd be so feral and it's already turned me soft. like, evil soft. because the destructive antics and cross-realm shenanigans? i live for it.

i'm kind of curious to see what the new movie is gonna be like. the storyline and such, maybe play around with something from that spin on the lore. but either way, i feel like the vibe of the mk world suits them and exploring them outside of star wars sounds like fun. because like, if elias also has force // force-like abilities, that could make him from the same realm. which, i don'T KNOW, MAN, I JUST REALLY LOVE MORTAL KOMBAT AND IT'S THE RANDOMEST VERSE EVER.

okay, we already talked about this on discord but i'm just putting it here because there will come a time i will randomly shoot you a starter of kylo ren armed with a red lyrium sword covered in templar blood because thedas seems like a fun continent to conquerer. it has an entire religious regime that wants to eradicate abominations, apostates, and mages ( "force-wielders" ) like him and he's esctatic about it.

so i don't know what you've got up your sleeves for elias in this universe, but i already know ren is gonna be fucking wild for him to deal with. a firebender with this huge beast of a zhanmadao who is part of a group known only as the ren. they function akin to hivemind, controlled by something they call "the voice of the dark" and their only defining characteristics are their weapons and masks.

i'm still trying to figure out what mask ren would have. oni for the sheer power of it is catching my eye but so is the symbolism of the fox and being this being of pursuit in immortality and power. both fit him so well so i'm debating. i'm thinking. i'm torn. but yes, we should absolutely do atla stuff because their canon prowess thrown in with martial elemental forms? fights and antics would be so fun to write.

jedi elias kanu and sith kylo ren being the same age? 👀 please. please.

especially since there is nothing anchoring him to the light side in this verse? it'll be so interesting to see how the affect each other. especially if they both still have their dyads. because ren does, and that's probably the one sliver of a thing that tempts him to be an incrementally better person to a point. also, elias meeting this version of tor valum where the sinewy bastard is an entire planet, and figuring out how to kill such a horrifying work of the dark side?

taking place during the clone wars. elias is an apprentice and so is kylo ren. and well...maybe they become friends. almost like brothers. and then, well, the tragedy is in the name.

like, this one would be an interesting one to explore as the tryad like the old republic. but unlike that era, ren doesn't start off on the opposite side. he starts off as a friend, brother, confidant for rey and elias. three black sheep jedi apprentices struggling to find their place in the order and survive the onslaught of a war that the very teachings their masters are drilling into them speak against.

and then they're attacked by the masked jedi killer who has been haunting the dark corners of coruscant for some time now. rey and elias feel something uncanny about the way he fights, but then one of them knocks off the helmet

and it's a familiar face hiding underneath.

“More than most.” The response shoots out nearly before he can think on it, a certain sudden curtness to his tone that jars even him; if only because he marvels at how raw such old wounds still manage to be. He takes a moment to try and set that all aside, body relaxing as he lets out a slow exhale. He can already tell this is the first of a million questions the girl will have now that he’s established himself as an authority, and he can’t treat each one like a slap in the face.

“There is much about the twilight of the Jedi you won’t find in a history book. Most accounts either paint them as near mythical warriors of justice who swept through the galaxy and combated evil at every turn, while others say they are power hungry zealots who betrayed their closest allies and thus were vanquished for the sake of peace.

Peace, bah.” He has to scoff, shaking his head and thinking back.

“The Jedi saw themselves as peacekeepers. Conflict generally was frowned upon, though being able to defend yourself was a paramount skill to be learned. Towards the end, things had gotten pretty cushy for them. They’d aligned themselves with the Galactic Republic, the seats of power for both factions being on the same planet not too far from each other.”

He stops to look around the place, an amused smirk on his face as something occurs to him.

“ It’s funny to think about this temple, a supposed holy place for meditation and education to be located in a city that spans the entire rest of the planet, one that includes the center of galactic politics and the worst and most crime-ridden slums in the galaxy. Such a strange contradiction, this place’s very existence. Anyway, the order in its last days was a far cry from any legendary status they’ve gained nowadays. They were….people, really. People who adhered to a strict code. One made in, I’d like to think, an ideal time for an ideal situation. It put them in a bubble; one they never imagined would pop until it did. Then, the Clone Wars happened. It wasn’t even their war, not really, but as peacekeepers and allies to the Republic, they felt they had a duty to intervene. Keeping the peace meant waging war. That is how holy men became generals. How masters became murderers. It became a murky time, and the Jedi way wasn’t built for murkiness. It made them unable to fathom the war was anything but what it presented itself as, and by the time they saw anything more to it, it was too late to stop what was in motion. They ‘ended’ the war, but the Republic, now the Empire, took all the credit. A Sith Lord sat at the highest seat of power and systematically dismantled his greatest allies and his greatest competition: the Jedi. The council didn’t see it coming at all, so caught up in their own self-importance and chasing their own tails to see the threat right beside them. A lot of good people….people who had just been doing the best they could, were lost in the Purge….and only the lucky ones of those were killed. In the aftermath, both the Empire and those who remembered the Jedi were able to spin their own stories…their legends. Who would tell either side where they were wrong?

And so, here we are; nearly a century later with a mix match of stories told by scores of people who weren’t there and don’t know but are all absolutely convinced of the ‘truth’ of their accounts. Does that satisfy you as the ‘whole story’, youngling?”

TheKojiIsHere there'd be a noticeable lightness to him a weight off his shoulders he'd be clearer and more focused, his drinking would lessen considerably he'd be softer, kinder without prompting and he wouldnt be so angry i can't stress that bit enough like im sure they'd both get used to it as just how he is but for ones so in tune with the force they'd be able to feel that Elias is always angry under everything even when he's drunk and laughing and poking fun he is always angry he's just been carrying that for years, just beneath the surface that's why when something actively irks him, it's so fast to the ground starting to shake and his fists clenching bc his anger is always there, waiting for an excuse and he has to reign it in but he finds that balance? the anger's gone consequently, I think his dark amplify would be more difficult to pull off and would take longer to build up he wouldn't be starting with as much negativity to get the loop going

TheKojiIsHere Yea Elias'd probably settle on like primarily if not only using it when with ben When he's the one controlling t he loop alone it takes longer, isn't as potent but both of them pinging off each other makes it way more viable also, they grow to have that innate connection man I can't wait til we progress to that point in threads when their tryad is in full swing that constant sensory flow that the kids are only just settling into with each other suddenly having a third and elias, after years of only being connected like that to alana, suddenly having two others to know him and to be known by him on that level another reason he holds onto them so tightly the rarity of such connection he covets it

TheKojiIsHere Also man I just imagined something really powerful So that mirror of Ben and Ren Imagine that was something Ben was out through, some sort of trial put forth or something And in it Ben accepts both parts of himself and it inspires Elias to, after all those years, stop running from the Fourth Brother So he goes through the same test, and instead of fighting he accepts himself at last Fourth brother charges with a feral roar to cut Elias down, and Elias just stands with his eyes closed and when Fourth Brother comes in close Elias raises his hands, not to attack but to suddenly pull his shadow self into a tight embrace Fourth brother tries to pull away, snarling and snapping, but Elias doesn't let go He starts crying, and at length just softly says "... I'm sorry." Fourth brother keeps fighting and Elias keeps repeating his apology until slowly but surely the beast calms, confused And then reruns the embrace before sinking into Elias Oh wow this got away from me

1- KoR/TFO weapon Elias Alderaan isn't enough to wake him up When the Empire crumbles he's sorta just abandoned, maybe a shuffled around asset among surviving moffs and generals and the like before ending up in one of the groups' hands Feral but still trainable 2- Fully dark Elias At some point comes out of his stupor on his own, but is no less angry and vicious Ends up turning on his masters and takes over a cell or the empire for himself when the top two fall. Now hes the one cracking the whip, and he's even crueler to his subordinates as those who made him And he is always angry, like the kind of angry that shoots past flailing tantrums into eeerie seeming stillness, but you can't mistake it for calm when he casually snaps a neck or cuts someone in half for any minor inconvenience or failure

hackett. So i think its a little bit like that line from ratatouille. Anyone can use the force. Powerful force users can come from anywhere, be anyone. Even if its genetic for ben solo, doesnt mean thats how it happens for everyone. Like disney changed the canon that everyone is sensitive to the force but not everyone is force sensitive. It probably manifests in different ways. I think everyone can improve, heighten their awareness and control, but everyone has a cap. Not because theyre weak or pathetic or meagor, their strength is just elsewhere like all talents and abilities Which is why elias in any verse being able to compete with ren makes sense without it feeling like a "god mode"
