And the worst part is that because of how the township is structured they can’t just kick her out until the next election. Because she has the power to prevent her own recall election.

I punch her name in every so often, roll the dice on if it will be crazy, corrupt, or arrested.
Never boring at least

An "unrealized capital gains tax" can and will be used to seize IP from creators by corporations.
Imagine if Apple showed up on Brandon Sanderson’s doorstep and bid $2M for Mistborn. I'm not sure he has $500k sitting around for taxes. And thus he will be forced to sell even if he doesn’t want to.

Deeply dispiriting post: testimony from a DOJ antitrust action reveals the entire book publishing industry is celebrity memoirs, established franchise authors like James Patterson, children's books, Bibles, and back catalogues (e.g. Lord of the Rings). Publishing new authors is not even a rounding error; you get the sense it's only done anymore out of a vague sense of obligation, and the moment one of the Big Five decides on the defect strategy, and stops doing that to save a few more bucks, it will end entirely.

I wanted to thank you for introducing me to the Martyr Made podcast. I have been listening to it a lot more and it some very in depth stuff. Thank you it's legitimately good.
You’re welcome. I found it thanks to a reblog on Twitter. I don’t agree with him on everything, but his episode on inner city conflicts between African Americans and Jews was too good not to recommend considering how relevant it is to events happening right now as we speak.

BoTW and TotK had character motivations and dialogue outright reomoved in the English version. Ganondorf’s motives in TotK are removed and Link’s thoughts about his journey are removed in BoTW.
The same issue exists for Fire Emblem but worse. Entire support conversations will be changed, romantic relationships with loli characters are turned into “friendships”, and dialogue is “punched up” in a way that makes characters radically different from their Japanese counterparts. And this has been a problem in every Fire Emblem game since Awakening was a smash hit.

So, I recently saw a new CriticalDrinker video about how major gaming studios are actively making female characters uglier out of some collective dea delusion that anything else is "non-inclusive", and honestly? I wrote it off. I assumed that it was him combining a couple big instances of this(Lara Croft was the big one, and I know Tifa in FF7 Remake got something like it as well) with the masses of dumb shit on twitter and assuming that meant this was a wider trend when in fact that's not enough to suppose a connection. Literally the day afterwards I see this, which if you don't know was a stealth-drop update to Pokemon Go that basically ruined the characters. Assuming the account shown in this video isn't some sort of deepfake troll, there apparently really are dea groups out there pushing for this exact thing just like Drinker said. It does suck that this had to happen to a Nintendo series when Nintendo has been one of the relatively few big developers who haven't gone in for the culture war cash grab attempts, but I'd say this still isn't the biggest issue with Pokemon and third-party devs, given that their MOBA is made by a Chinese firm that's legally required under their home country's law to give the Party your data at any time for any reason.

Bad Nintendo translations have been a problem for a while now. Especially for Fire Emblem and the most recent Zelda.

The difference is that Niantic is not apart of Nintendo. They have a license with the Pokemon Company to make Pokemon Go and the Pokemon Company is not likely to rescind that license no matter what Niantic does because Pokemon Go makes too much money.
And Nintendo isn't immune from criticism either. Nintendo of America's translation division is full of these types. I actively dread the release of the Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Door remake out of fear that they will retranslate it.

Money was probably given to third party intermediaries who then pocketed the money or merely pretended to do something. Same thing happened to the Salvation Army after the Haiti earthquake. They thought it would be easier to give money they raised to people “working on the ground” because creating the necessary infrastructure to house and feed people takes time to build. They just didn’t do a good job vetting those people.
