CHS - HOME from Unlimited Time Only on Vimeo.
Official music video for "Home" by CHS. chsveryhigh.com/

“Summer, we go Home”
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
CHS's music always goes somewhere. When we listen to their music, Sometimes it is a wide sandy beach with the scorching sun, but sometimes it becomes an old street in Bali. not where we are now. The journey to somewhere is shown with a cinematic narrative.
The heat of summer and the coolness of the blue sea. After a long winter and a fleeting spring, dazzling days meet after a long wait. A sea like that where you can throw off all your shells and fully expose yourself. The sea they play in that season seems to be the utopia they have long dreamed of and longed for.
[The Journey Back to the 'Utopia']
Why are they suddenly singing 'HOME', who were chanting 'summer' and 'sea' so fiercely?
For those who have left, 'hometown' always presents special emotions. Even after a long time, that strange city It is still full of familiar air and wind, and memories that have now faded.
A place where no one welcomes you We want to leave reality behind and go back someday... It exists as a memory of a 'utopia' that has never been met.
In that sense, for CHS, 'HOME' is 'the summer' and 'the sea'. The 'utopia' they went to with their music is the 'hometown' we want to return to.
We've never been there, but it's there in our memories, There is someone waiting for us that we have never met.
So they said a warm goodbye to the past 'summer' Sending greetings from a pleasant reunion to the ‘sea’, where we will meet again.
“Summer, we go Home”

Fashion Visuals with 3D Scanned Models from Tobias Gremmler on Vimeo.
Fabric and skin is translated into a digital mesh that acts like a dynamic membrane between body and the surrounding space. Like fashion, it constructs/deconstructs identity and becomes a media that propagates information in form of textures, patterns and shapes. The work visualizes this underlying forces in forms of threads weaving together and tearing apart fragments of cloth and skin. Exhibited as scenographic media installation at Osage Gallery during HK|Runway.
Organised by Osage Art Foundation and The Hong Kong Design Institute, HK|Runway! is an unconventional multidisciplinary project in which fashion is redefined as multifaceted enterprise and artistic process. By juxtaposing garments, design, art, music, choreography, and architecture, HKIRunway! moves beyond the traditional givens of a fashion week-catwalks.

+ SYNOPSIS + Excessive competition between countries has created a perfect artificial intelligence. Artificial intelligence has excellent learning ability, but they have no imagination ability. Therefore, A.I. plans to steal the human’s as imagination makes everything possible. But at the same time, A.I. concludes that it is a human error as the ability can limit people due to the over imaginative mind. It makes humans to be afraid of death and leads people to believe in God which becomes a religion. Thus, A.I. creates a new religion by combining the characteristics of all gods so that every single human being can worship. All that faith has become energy sources that gives a power to A.I. to absorb the imagination ability from humans. Finally, artificial intelligence becomes perfect. In the end, the excessive desire of man toward information and technology causes the destruction of a mankind.

Skin for Skin from National Film Board of Canada on Vimeo.
Skin for Skin is a dark allegory of greed and spiritual reckoning set during the early days of the fur trade. In 1823, the Governor of the largest fur-trading company in the world travels across his Dominion, extracting ever-greater riches from the winter bounty of animal furs. In his brutal world of profit and loss, animals are slaughtered to the brink of extinction until the balance of power shifts, and the forces of nature exact their own terrible price.
With nods to Melville and Coleridge, directors Kevin D.A. Kurytnik & Carol Beecher have created a visually stunning contemporary myth about the cost of arrogance and greed.

We, fragments from RUBBISHBELT on Vimeo.
I was sitting in the den and I got up. Then I got off the bus and went up to Berlin. The shaman was waiting for me with his friend Smile. We crossed the bridge to sit by the river. We walked into the green.
The white looks whiter here and now. It astounds me yet. The sound of footsteps below me. The trees here have a plate even though they don't move. Sitting in the vessel's bath, waiting for the time it will flow away.
I had never seen the sky, I had never heard the sound of insects. I have never looked through my hands.

DECHEN from Kaukab Basheer on Vimeo.
Dechen is a Ladhaki, Tibetan Buddhist monk-in-training with a passion for gardening. One stormy night, he rescues an exquisite flower by bringing it indoors. However, despite his care and concerns, the flower inexplicably starts to fall apart and the boy struggles to accept the situation. Finally, Angmo, the head monk is forced to intervene and rescue Dechen from himself. Dechen finds peace at last when he understands how to truly save his dying flower - by eliminating the need to possess and control.
Winner of the "Outstanding Achievement in Traditional Animation" Dusty Award (2012). DECHEN premiered at the 23rd Dusty Film & Animation Festival at the School of Visual Arts Theater in NYC on May 7. This was my BFA thesis project and I was given a little over 2 semesters to work on it. The story was shaped by an experience I had while trying to get a beloved feral colony cat adopted in to a home and new surroundings.
DECHEN was animated traditionally on paper, the layouts were created out of mixed media and the animated frames were scanned and colored in Photoshop. I worked with SVA Film faculty member and noted musician, Nana Simopoulos once more to compose the overall music for the film, while my friend and professional musician, Marlon Cherry played the bells and the beautiful Kalimba. A couple of supportive and talented animation friends helped color the frames. Noted wildlife watercolorist and my drawing teacher, Deborah Ross sprinkled my credits with her lovely paintings. BFA Film Sound Design major, Steven Burgess (also a thesis student at the time) handled the sound design elements of my film. Don Poynter was my awesome thesis advisor, while dear friend and animation veteran, Howard Beckerman was the light at the end of the story-tunnel.
I could not have created and finished this film without the patience and support of my SVA teachers and supportive peers, friends, my super-patient husband and my beloved cats (both the indoor and outdoor ones).

FRGMENTS installation (the 10 contexts) from Julien Bayle on Vimeo.
This video capture figures 10 of the contexts of FRGMENTS installation designed for four 4K screens and a specific ambisonic spatialization 6.2 sound system. The sound has been reduced to 2 speakers binaural and the video figures the whole texture for 4 screens (unfortunately recompressed by vimeo)
Here is a video captured at Julien Bayle Studio during the production time, mid september 2017. Original video is 4x 4K video signals, which means a whole texture 15360 x 2 160.
The official website is : julienbayle.net/frgments
FRGMENTS is a real-time programmed system that displays pre-shooted video footage and then, assemble them again, sort them, cut them time-wise (scrambled playing order, unexpected time loops) and space-wise (fragmentation of the video matrix itself, unexpected collage of part of videos). It runs a specific generative narration which plays following different contexts, being able to be completely autonomous (installation version) and also controlled (live performance version). It spreads and generates sound, some parts that have been partially written using a specific set of rules and algorithms, playing with metric, bars, time and loop concepts.
FRGMENTS is inspired by the cut-up concept/technique, created by Brion Gysin and deeply applied, especially, by William S. Burroughs, but also by Tristan Tzara and his folding techniques. Since 20s, dadaists used decontextualization & reuse of pre-existing work for creating a new matter, sometimes new texts as Burroughs did, but also as Ellsworth Kelly did with his cut & re-assembled paintings. Julien Bayle made a reference to cut-up also by manipulating the name of his project FRAGMENTS by removing the « A » and by glueing the two separated parts of the word.

Elements - Art film by Maxim Zhestkov from Zhestkov on Vimeo.
Elements is an experimental art film by Maxim Zhestkov about nature, physics, art and love. More than 2 billion elements / particles governed by tensions and forces of nature were used to tell stories and show emotions through the motion of collective behavior. The film is a trial to explore the idea that everything around us and inside us is made from simple elements / blocks which can be arranged in complex relationships and become compound structures. We could project this idea into emotions, behaviours, thought processes, relationships, life, planets and the universe.
Design / Animation / Sound by Maxim Zhestkov.
