I see nothing glamorous or interesting about a Twizzle. It usually calls for up to five three turns on one foot followed by the same number of three turns on the other foot. I have seldom seen it done with elegance or exciement. It is nothing more than a required, almost circus-like balancing move–except that in the circus, which is all about entertaining people, it would be changed to something else and made exciting. Under the rules, it is simply another way to demand some more points, yet does little more than test you to see if you will catch and edge and go Plop! (At least that could be entertaining!) Davis and White do it beautifully, but it is still not a beautiful move. In my humble opinion, a Twizzle is simply a less athletic, less exciting, less interesting move similar to a balancing act. Let skaters do it if it contributes toward some choreographic interest–which should be the skaters’ and the choreographers’ choice. If necessary, put it in the Short Program and forget rewarding it in the Long Program.

A couple of years ago, Joshi dressed as a blue exotic bird, which I did not care for at all. Against all reason, in 2014 she came back dressed like this - a purple exotic bird! While I don’t think it’s quite as bad, and the eye shadow situation has been fixed, that’s still not an endorsement. And no one’s ass should look like that unless she’s a Muppet.
