Thinking about how L’Manburg was built on a riverbed. The ground would’ve been swampy, especially when it rained, reeds and river grasses growing naturally. Houses on stilts even before Wilbur had his way, keeping their floors from sinking into th marsh. boardwalks with lanterns hanging to light the way, frogs in the evening and fireflies bringing the stars to your doorstep. flooding when it rained and all the kids rushing outside to play in the puddles, wading through water that lapped over the boardwalk.
a land of defiance, not only defiance of those who ruled, but defiance of nature

HELP A DISABLED TRANS WOMAN ESCAPE FLORIDA
BEFORE IT GETS ANY WORSE
Florida recently passed horrific anti trans laws including felony charges for using the "incorrect" bathroom, and getting your gender marker changed counts as "identity fraud". Also, HRT meds are no longer eligible for refills. With trump AND desantis in Florida, and this being an election year, it's looking like the political environment is about to become even more hostile. Like most trans people are feeling now, it seems like the closest is the safest place to be.
In order to relocate to a new home in a different state (one that welcomes trans people), I'm accepting donations starting now to raise funds for moving. Estimated $2000 cost to move essential, irreplaceable items, and also includes flight ticket fees and miscellaneous other things.
I'm setting the deadline at Sept 1st, before the election starts becoming a thing, and also before the weather turns too cold for heavy lifting during unpacking.
Any amount is hugely appreciated. Reblogging for visibility would also be a huge help. I'll queue this post to reblog itself regularly, and provide updates with reblogs in my pinned post.
