in the spirit of black history month,
this particular post felt needed! 🤎
in the last year i’ve witnessed the underrepresentation of black characters in the tumblr roleplaying-community, as well as black MUNS being attacked for voicing their thoughts during black lives matter protests. from anon hate, to heated discussions, we have been made to feel silenced and belittled. my rp friends purposely do not disclose OOC information such as race and ethnicity (for this specific reason) on their blogs have received backlash when they speak up.
this is not sitting right with me at all. so in hope to counterattack, here is a google doc masterlist. featuring black and black mixed original, canon, canon-divergent, and fandomless characters. the mun does not have to be black to have their black character featured! (means non-black rpers have an abundance of black writers to reach out to)

the first time y'aleda had run away she had been six. if you ask her, she’ll insist she hadn’t really run away she just wanted to go look at the big ships being built across town. she didn’t understand why her parents & sister had been so worried, she was coming back. she was eight when she ran away for the first time for real, it was over a silly argument with her mum or her dad, that she can barely remember but she had packed a few snacks, the tool kit her parents had got her for her birthday and decided she would rough it on her own. she came back a few hours later when she ran out of snacks & hurt her knee. things got riskier as she grew up, she actually started causing trouble, some not on purpose, some on purpose. little pranks here & there, rigging the school intercome so it would only play music whenever someone tried to make an announcement. the older y’aleda got, the more restless she became with the place she lived, longing for adventure & to see the stars. things got worse when her dad died. she was seventeen when she left her home planet to see the stars, leaving without permission & skipping her graduation ceremony. she went home to visit her mum & sister every once in a while until the time that she stole a space ship with a time machine and accidentally time travelled, she was nineteen. she hasn’t been home since.
