Everyone has secrets, has something shady, something that stains clean slate ( should there be any white left, that is ). some might want to erase the stains from their slate, attempt to do so through furious scrubbing. Others might cover it up, pretend it's not there, that they don't even exist, if they can that is. Others fully embrace it, live up to it and gladly add more—- but even those have something they’d rather hide. Deeds so dark, so heavy on their conscience they share them with no one. What if someone threatens to release those deeds? What would you do if the threat of exposure loomed above? What length would you take to hide it all? Leave an even bigger stain behind? Would that be worth it?
Hello everyone! And welcome to our first writing prompt. We would love for you to play with the threat of sensitive information of any kind being released about them. What could be released? Would they attempt to run? To hide? Would they attempt to stop it all and if so how? As this will be done in self-paras, a character study to give you the chance to get in touch with your characters again; any information that is given in the self-paras would still be unknown to other characters. No one would know what your character attempts to hide or how they deal with the fallout. We are excited to read what you come up with! Annie & C.

It has been three weeks since a blood curling scream cut through the early morning commute alerting both authorities and the inhabitants of Dertosa. A body just a few streets off Mosaic, a robbery gone wrong from the looks of it. No phone, no wallet, ID or purse. From the looks of it, Jane Doe had put up a fight and lost her life over that. The coroner was able to confirm these first suspicions along with providing officers with her identity. Cecelia Rothschild—- Nightshade; we did send the family our dearest condolences on the day of her funeral last week.
Whether or not there is a connection between the death of her and her brother no one truly investigates nor believes; with everything pointing to a robbery gone wrong in Cecelia’s case. Sure, one could stage just that, but why bother going to such lengths? Still, it is an odd coincidence, don’t you think? As odd and as sad as it may be, her death is yesterday's news. The town’s already busy with a whole nother set of news. A robbery too, but one of a different kind.
A break-in, clean and smooth. No traces left behind, just a masked figure on a blurry security camera. Investigations are still on-going and there isn’t much one can pry from the authorities, as everything still is kept under wraps, but that doesn’t take much to gather that whoever is behind this, knew what they were doing. What they took? That’s a good question, a set of files one would assume, which ones and why or what for? Ah, so many more good questions. One doesn’t break into the police stations archives for nothing; that’s all we’re saying. Who knows, perhaps we’ll get to read those files soon? We wouldn’t be surprised if some of the city’s inhabitants find themselves being blackmailed or threatened with sensitive information, one way or another.

Hi guys! We — Annie & C, finally gathered our bearings after we very spontaneously and unplanned took over the group. The both of us love the Dertosa and it’s inhabitants and we’d love to see the group flourish and will do our best to achieve that. We have finally established a plot, the summary of which we have posted on the ooc-blog. Please make sure you stop by and familiarize yourself with the key points while we work on polishing the plot as well as tweaking the timeline here and there.
Everyone is welcome to re-write and tweak their characters, however, no one has to. Should you choose to tweak your characters please submit all changes to the main by September 17th so we can update all bios if necessary in a timely manner. Should you have any questions regarding what is planned in order to decide what you will do with your characters, please come forward, we are always happy to help!
In the meantime you are free to pick up old threads or start new ones, to plot and to post and send memes while we work on the plot and timeline. Later today we will post a first writing prompt to officially kick things off and get everyone started.

Whilst her flavour is typically for women, she ended up sleeping with a man and of course became pregnant. But Eris being cold and calculated as she is had the child and gave her away for adoption. Eris has often wondered about this child and yet has never met her since. How’d you like to rattle her cage by having her turn up?
EXTRA INFORMATION:
Eris would feel awkward about the kid and then would feel compelled to protect her because she has held onto guilt for many years about just throwing her one chance at being a mom away since she is now past it. Your character can hate her or is welcome to want to know her. It is likely that your character is a bright spark and knew where to go looking in records to find out about Eris. Eris would be impressed greatly by this.

Hey everyone! It’s been a long week and we hope for those who celebrate Labor Day, that you all had a good one with your families or whomever you spent the day with!
As the title entails, we are now back online! For the past week, we’ve been throwing ideas back and forth to refresh the concept of the roleplay and how things were ran. We’ve updated many existing pages, as well as added new ones! We are very excited to play out this new direction we’ve put forth and hope to strengthen our bonds as a TC family, and to further delve into the knitty gritty of all sanctions and those inhabiting them.
The roleplay shall now commence as per usual, and as stated before on our OOC blog, we will be returning to our weekly activity check six days from now. Which ultimately means that on September 7th or 8th we will be issuing an activity check and will be unfollowing members/characters on September 9th, respectively! For future applicants and current members, we will also be accepting auditions this coming Wednesday, September 5th!
Under the cut, we have laid out the gist of updates, consisting of pages that we encourage current (and future) members to revisit and to acquaint themselves with!

WHAT IS NEW / UPGRADED?
AESTHETICS
The main has a new sleeker look! Graphics have been replaced as well as headers to give off a more refined and ambiguous feel to the main. We’ve added a music player for people to vibe to while they browse our many links, as well as a Pinterest widget to further the experience.
TIMELINE
The timeline has been altered with more specifics! This time around, it includes the seasons and years of when each sanction came to be, as well as events leading up to where Toxic City stands now. As the roleplay progresses, the timeline will be updated so that everyone will be on the same page. Feel free to take a look at it to inform yourself of the history of your character’s sanction!
PROMPTS WILL NOW BE IMPLEMENTED
A set of monthly prompts will begin to drop to further develop characters and to prevent a lull in the roleplay! They will be open to self-paras or between other members, usually regarding the current plot drop or to give members suggestions as to what to write and what direction their characters should be going!
UPDATED AUDITION FORM // OCS & WANTED CONNECTIONS UNLOCKED
The aspect of skeletons are still present, but to accommodate wanted connections, we’ve opened up OCs! Two separate forms were created for our skeletons and for our OCs/wanted connections. You may find both forms here, and to submit a wanted connection, look here.
We’ve added the option of creating your own labels to put on the graphics in both audition forms! A list of taken labels will be linked in the DESIRED SKELETON/IN CHARACTER INFORMATION portions of their respective forms.
Speaking of labels and graphics, the following characters’ labels have been changed on their graphic, some based on their answers to the statistics task and some based on both their skeletons and their bios: Morphine, Ecstasy, Dimitri, Simon Chun, and Peyote. If there are any issues regarding these labels, please let us know and we’ll be happy to change them to your liking!

Sanction pages now have ‘a remaining OC slots open’ portion to keep a cap on how many of each sanction we will be accepting!
WINNING PLOT DROP
After much anticipation, the results of our recent plot drop poll has come to The Serial Killer! This means Dertosa will be plagued with more bodies than the city mortician deals with on a daily basis. The victims don’t seem connected, save for the fact that they have been found within the city limit. Toxic City is on edge and there are no possible leads.
In a few days, before our official plot drop post is posted, we will be issuing a good ol’ fashioned chatzy to involve members on the happenings of this event! We will be discussing matters that need your ‘yes and no’s’ as well as implementing a new practice to better our communication with you all! Following the chatzy, the plot drop post will then be posted to commence the event with details you will need to know in order to flourish in this event, along with prompts to help further dive into it!
We know this week couldn’t have been slower, as we’re all itching to get back to writing, so we want to thank you guys for not only being patient but encouraging us along the way in order to bring forth a successful revamp! We’ve taken advice and suggestions given by various members seriously, as we hope you guys are pleased with all that has been reinvented! We love you guys and are looking forward to our bright future!

"Things keep getting better!” ♫
Good afternoon, members and future applicants! As you know, Toxic City is getting an *extreme* makeover, Queer Eye style! And yes, that means from head to toe, inside and out! We’ve noticed the lack of activity and muse lately, and although every roleplay goes through their dry seasons, we wanted to use that as an excuse to give our beloved home a fresh new coat of paint! But, our look is not the only thing that will be going under construction!
Toxic City, as a whole, will be going under renovations that involve opening our roleplay to wanted connections, original characters, as well as an upgraded plot and timeline, with new skeletons to hit our sanction pages (in the near future)! Members are welcome to return to their threads and characters after the revamp, but we will also be welcoming our members to rewrite their characters (if you so wish) or dropping them to create someone new! We want to encourage our members to do as they please to refresh their muse, whether it takes grabbing someone new or rewriting their characters to appease your desires! However, that doesn’t just mean that Toxic City itself will be going under the knife! We have put up a poll for our members to decide what our next plot drop will be as it will be hitting the dash a day or so after the revamp is finish! So, that being said, let us recap!
Toxic City will have not only have a new look but an upgraded plot and timeline too!
We will be opening our roleplay to original characters and wanted connections!
Members are welcome to rewrite/drop & pick up their characters (if they desire to).
A new plot drop will be hitting the dash after the revamp is finished! (vote here!)
New skeletons will be introduced in the near future!
We will be making a second post to notify our members that the revamp is finished and the dash can continue. Which means, from August 26th to September 3rd, the dash will be put on hold during renovations. Which means, yes! You have an entire week off to catch up on replies to store in your drafts, or to rethink where you want to take your character after the revamp! Our second post will also notify our members to refresh their memories on our rules and various other pages, as they will be upgraded as well! We thank our members for being so patient with us, as we know it’s tough for muses to thrive when real life has gotten in the way of our roleplay dreams. We hope everyone is excited for this revamp as much as we are, and are looking forward to Toxic City’s bright future!

“The Serial Killer” - Plaguing the people of Dertosa with unpredictable killings, the city is on edge as The Serial Killer leaves clues as to who their next victim is. Are they targeting certain sanctions? Are the victims connected?
“The Dertosa Arsonist” - At first, it was assumed to be a freak fire in the woods of the Amber District, but lately, certain business and homes are being targeted every week. Who’s next to go up in flames? Is your home or business next?
“The Destruction of Neutral Ground” - A sanctuary, a home to many, and to all, neutral ground amongst the people of Toxic City. On Sunday morning, church-goers find their beloved building defaced and destroyed, tagged, and brutally demolished. Who’s to take the blame? What sanction is to fall because of it?
“The New Threat” - They were here from the beginning, amongst the citizens of Toxic City as regular people, hiding in plain sight. Now, their leader has come out of the shadows that reveal themselves as Toxic City’s newest threat-- The key player in the murder of Anthrax.

do the admins have any plot drops or upcoming things in mind to shake things up? it seems like a lot of people are losing their muse
We are currently in the talks of doing something pretty big, so yes! I don’t want to give an exact time stamp as to when that would happen, but hopefully, all of our planning will be done before the end of next week!
However, we would also love to point out that while we are doing our best to aid our member’s muses, that it does take two to tango! So, if you guys have trouble figuring out what to do with your character and are feeling a bit stagnant, you are 100% welcome to come to us and we’d love to throw you some plot ideas that your character can tackle, development wise! – Syd
