Redemption Round 1: Zhou Zishu (Word of Honor) vs C!Grian (Third Life SMP)

[Propaganda Under Cut]

Zhou Zishu: Look, before he adopted took Chengling as his disciple, he was 100% his bodyguard. Like a dying man who he bummed a free ride off of told him to protect Chengling and escort him to Zhao Jing and even though Zishu is literally dying and just wants to spend his last days drinking, he agrees to take care of Chengling and fights off attackers because Chengling is the Jianghu's most wanted 14 year old orphan even though the 7 nails make it hard for him to fight. like the amount of times even in the early episodes where he pushes Chengling behind him in order to protect him or something makes me unwell. like he failed to protect so many people and yet he was able to save Chengling and he got to grow up and have a family and be surrounded by people who love him.

C!Grian: After Grian accidentally blew up Scar, he made it his life mission to keep him alive until he lost his own first life. Meaning, Scar was now on yellow, and Grian would be his bodyguard until Grian turned yellow as well. Except, soon enough, Scar plummeted and lost his yellow life, turning red. Scar gave him poppies and lilacs to keep their team afloat, and Grian reminded him that he had still to lose his first life. And so they continued being a team, Scar being... himself, and Grian protecting him at every turn. The others wanted to free Grian, thought that now that Scar was red, he would no longer be allied, but no. Grian didnt even want to "be free". Sure, it was tedious to be protecting Scar everywhere all the time, but he could break the rules through him. He could blow people up under the pretenses that Scar told him to do so, when in reality the red only wanted to steal everybody's armor (or clothes, as he put it) and ensure flimsy alliances in return. It took a while, but eventually, Grian lost his yellow life in the Battle of the Red Desert against Dogwarts, so that meant he could be free from Scar. But he stayed all the same. He stayed until Scar betrayed him when there were only 3 people alive and let the third person kill Grian because of a slip of paper guaranteeing a one time free pass on being killed. After that, Scar killed the third, but the damage had already been done. But when Scar told Grian to kill him and take the Enchanter, for all he'd done for him until then, Grian said he couldn’t do it. Even when faced with betrayal, Grian couldn't be the one to end his partner's life just like that. The ghosts wouldn't let him, either. In the end, they went home and took their armor off, set aside their weapons, and said sorry every time their fists hit the other. Grian won with a wail, and jumped off a cliff.

he forms an anarchist biker gang to take down corrupt people in power and does all sorts of illegal things to expose their villainy to the public, but also does more solo mission type stuff where he like severely beats up people and stuff. is kinda a wildcard in the gang with being much more intense, an asshole, and far less boundaries over what is acceptable to do. genuinely wants justice but is willing to bend the rules to get it
