Butch sat on the floor as Buttercup worked on the wound on his side. He didn’t flinch or wince. In all honesty the boy hardly felt it. He leaned back on his hands, looking at nothing in particular. He was almost unblinking. It wasn’t until he heard her say his name. It sounded far away. Then slowly it came closer.
He blinked and looked at Buttercup. “What?” He asked.
She knew that look to well. And she hated it. She was glad he hardly felt the pain but that meant he usually felt nothing, and coming down from that was a shitty feeling that Buttercup knew all too well. The super healing would start soon but she had to kick start by patching him up in the mean time.
“I said you scared the shit out of me.” She said. “And I asked what the fuck were you thinking?”

Buttercup was unphased by him trapping her against the wall. If she really wanted to move him, she could but she was so used to this. “Don’t need to wish, the reality’s right here.” She smirked. “Oh yeah? Does that mean I’m meant to trust you and assume you know what’s good enough me?”
