By the way, a huge way to help people in Gaza is by donating an e-sim! Isnotreal has shut off the internet and this helps ppl to use technology for whatever they need and this is the ONLY WAY that journalists can share the atrocities happening in Palestine. https://gazaesims.com/
I’d just like to acknowledge that South Africa wouldn’t have such a strong case without the work of the journalists, both alive and martyred, on the ground in Gaza supplying the world with firsthand information about the genocide and that they deserve thanks for it.
Keep talking about Palestine, boycotting, get educated and don’t look away. Gaza is flooded bc Isnotreal shut down their sewage system. They were already starving and evading constant bombardment and now they’re freezing, fighting infections and sickness. Children have been a huge percent of the people experiencing sickness and have even been martyred due to hypothermia from the flooding and elements. People are in tents outside of target buying fucking pink starbucks stanley cups when there are people in tents in Gaza dying. Don’t look away and don’t stop talking about it.
To this day people will cry over the knowledge and works destroyed when the library of Alexandria was burned down.
And yet no tears are shed as Palestinian archives and libraries are bombed.
Saint Porphyrius Church, built in 1150 and the 3rd oldest church in the world has been bombed.
It's not an accident.
Israel aren't simply killing Palestinians, they are trying to erase that there ever were Palestinians in the first place.
Destroying their livelihoods, trying to to destroy their culture and history and pretend this land was never there's.
It's easy to deny someone's existence when there's no record of them.
Which is why it's so important to look at the atrocities and bear witness to what's happening.
But to also recognise that Palestine is more than it's suffering.
There is a living breathing culture, of art, history, literacy which all come from the Palestinians.
Traditions they've carried for centuries.
So while we mourn the dead, we shall fight for the living. Fight for the preservation of their crafts, amplify their voices as they speak on their culture.
Palestinian history and culture is alive. And no matter how much the world wants to erase that, they cannot and will not.
please keep talking about Palestine. we need a ceasefire NOW. it’s all i can think about, i can’t stop shedding tears for these ppl. please just end this genocide, from the river to the sea Palestine will be free 🍉🍉
Israel blows up Gaza's "Palace of Justice" compound which housed the Palestinian Supreme Court, the Court of Appeal, the Court of First Instance & the Magistrate.
100,000s of vital case documents are gone.
Deliberately targeting civilian infrastructure is a War Crime!
Israel's soldiers took victory images inside the Palestinian Supreme Court before blowing it up into pieces.
This proves the facility constituted ZERO danger to the Israeli military & no militants were hiding inside it at the time it was destroyed.
Again, a war crime!
These two kids are Hamza (the oldest) and Qusai (the youngest).
Their mother shares this video and bids them goodbye. They were both killed by Israeli bombardment 5 days ago. She says:
[Two days before Hamza and Qusai were killed, hamza asked me: "mom, when we die, where will I go?" And I told him: "you will be a bird in heaven, my love." He said: "and Qusai?" "Just like you inshallah."
And indeed, two days later, he left and took his brother with him. It's like he was preparing me for saying goodbye to both of them. Heaven is more beautiful than any place on this Earth, habibi. We will meet and be reunited one day, me, your dad and you two].
Our kids don't deserve to die already thinking about what will happen to them, they don't deserve to die already terrified, anticipating their death because the world failed them and decided their lives mean nothing. We are not numbers. Remember their names and their stories.
