I've always thought that Tobirama was the one in charge of raising Kawarama and Itama, that's why he was so mature from such a young age, he even defended hashirama from their father. He needed to mature from such a young age TT

god the concept of the scroll of seals is so funny. tobirama keeps inventing stuff and hashirama is like no we can't have people using that!!!! and into the scroll it goes

for the tbrmweek day 1: nostalgia / bonds / survival

⸺ once a year tobirama finds some time to revisit his childhood home. a couple of families decided to stay right there, in the village senju had occupied for centuries instead of moving with the rest of the clan to konoha. those were mainly elders and farmers, people who were always in tobirama’s life, and who looked forward to his visits. they thought his gratitude was sweet but unnecessary, after all tending to his estate and family tombstone was only reciprocation for the head of the clan’s hard work. but for tobirama, arriving at his clean and warm home felt as if his little brothers were just about to run from around the corner to greet him and ask “what took you so long?”. when he’s falling asleep in the bedroom the four of them shared, he feels an aching nostalgia. he wonders what would itama and kawarama think of the man he has become.

⸺ tobirama knows hokage’s schedule by heart. he won’t go to see his brother if there’s a chance madara might be with him already. last time he met them together, the room went quiet, hashirama exchanged looks with his friend and then changed the topic to something trivial. it was enough for tobirama to understand the message: “we don’t want you here”. so now he skips the main office altogether, if hashirama needed anything he would just come to his brother, which he rarely did. he also rarely replied to tobirama’s proposals and theories, and if he did it was just to say he doesn’t approve of them or that it’s just a waste of time. everyday tobirama was being pushed farther away from his brother, his clan and konoha. he wonders, when did their bond weakened, until he realises that they were never really close to begin with.

⸺ tobirama was afraid. it didn’t make sense, he won the battle and survived, so why was his brother raging at him afterwards? he went back home alone, took his armor and dirty clothes off and then bathed until all the blood and dust were completely washed off. he tried to recall if hashirama was ever as protective of him as he was of the defeated uchiha. where was the relief when izuna was the one to lose? where was all this anger when tobirama was about to be killed in the name of peace? why didn’t hashirama care about how he was making his little brother feel when he was about to take his own life? it wasn’t really the first time that tobirama wondered if everything would end better if he was the one to die.
