The Right Arm (A TMR Gally and Beth One Shot)
The first thing to hit Gally's senses was the strong smell of rubbing alcohol. He groaned as he opened his eyes, his chest in a massive amount of pain.
"Finally, he wakes up. How are you feeling?" A girl asks as she sits beside him on the bed he's lying in. His eyes instantly widen at the sight of her. She has sparkling hazel eyes, and long brown hair that sweeps across her shoulders and flows down to her waist. Her lips are thin, but all Gally could think about was kissing them. "Hello?" The girl waves her arms around trying to pull him out of his trance. He shakes his head softly.
"What did you say?" He asks. The girl rolls her eyes, but smiles.
"How are you feeling, stick?" She asks again. He looks up at her confused. She bites her lip for a second. "Oh, right. I forgot no one understands that slang here. Just, I meant how are you feeling?" She clarifies. He swallows hard.
"Fine. Where am I?" He asks, gazing into her eyes as if he never wanted to look away. They instantly captured his attention. He can barely look away even just to take in his surroundings. Once he's finally able to, he notices he's in some type of infirmary, with beds lined up and tables between them filled with medical supplies. He looks down to notice his shirt is off, and frantically pulls the blanket up to cover himself. The girl smiles.
"You realize I've been taking care of you for, like, three days without your shirt, right?" She reminds him. His cheeks grow red from embarrassment and she rolls her eyes. "Don't know why you're self conscious, after being trapped in the Spring with only Aris it's almost weird seeing a guy with abs and a toned stomach," She tells him. He looks at her confused. She looks up from the cotton and rubbing alcohol bottle in her hands to meet his eyes. "Welcome to the Right Arm."
"The Right Arm? What is that? Who are you?" He asks question after question, trying to piece things together to make any bit of sense.
"We're an army. We're trying to keep people safe from WCKD. I'm Beth," She explains gently.
"How did you get into the army?" He questions. She sets the things in her hand down on the table beside Gally's bed.
"I was in the other maze. Group B. We got out a few days earlier than you guys, and the Right Arm broke into WCKD's headquarters and saved us. I was the head of the medical icers in the Spring, so they put me in charge of you," She tells him.
"What happened to me?" He asks, pushing the blanket back down to see his chest wrapped in gauze and tape. Beth sighs.
"When we found you, you were on the floor of WCKD's old lab with a spear through your chest. Vince realized you were immune, and started screaming for help to try and save you. I guess we did an okay job," She smiles at him. He feels fireworks going off in his stomach from that smile.
"What happened to the other guys from the maze?" He asks, concerned. Beth looks at him, upset.
"I'm sorry, but we think WCKD captured them. But don't worry, you're safe here with us," She places a hand over his and gives him a reassuring smile. "Now, I've been watching you sleep for three days without knowing anything about you, other than the fact that you were in Group A. What's your name?" She asks. He looks up at her.
"Gally," He replies simply. She crosses her legs and looks back over at him.
"And your story?"
