RIP Callie Kitty June 2010 to 6-Sept 6, 2022. Callie didn’t win her battle with cancer. We we going to put her to sleep yesterday, but she didn’t make it through the sedative, which she would have had take to do the treatment, so it was a no win situation for her, I just hope it was peaceful. We just couldn’t watch her go through this anymore. We’re just happy she’s no longer in pain. Play hard at the rainbow bridge little one, you are missed. This was so the could drain the fluid from her lungs and from around her heart ant to inflate the partially deflated lung. Callie Kitty… Isn’t she beautiful? 11 years ago someone threw her out like trash. The first thing we did was post flyers and take her to the vet to be spayed. The vet found 11 cysts and removed all of them. She’s had a great life with us, no more issues until the weekend. She had laboured breathing on the weekend. We called the vet 1st thing Monday morning, she spent all day and night there. The vet called today. She had fluid in and around her lungs and heart, one lung had a partial collapse. They tested the fluid from yesterday and it had cancer cells in it. So Callie has Cancer… where do we go from here? The vet says cats hide disease better than dogs, she was in to see the vet in May with an URI or so they thought. Anyhow we brought her home tonight with steroids and she needs to be seen be by the vet every 10 days. If she goes downhill again we have a DNR on her. Some people may think we’re being selfish but even the vet said we weren’t being selfish. Believe it or not the steroids can actually make her better. The vet said she’s seen stranger things happen.
