Guess I might have to start using this site soon. Apologies to those who have been following here waiting for me to post something but it’s rare I have the chance to make longer posts. If things go south thanks to God Emperor Elon, I’ll be more active here. Or even if not.

Explaining a Long Hiatus

When I first went on hiatus it was because I thought I would be dealing with a tragedy at any moment. In reality it's been a lot worse.

For those unaware, I started my YouTube channel because I needed something to do. I moved back home when my grandmother's health took a downturn and someone had to take care of her full time. We live a thousand miles from any other family and we would never subject her to a nursing home, but both of my parents needed to work to keep the roof over their heads. I was between jobs so the option we had was for me to be the caregiver, as a temporary arrangement that was fine. But it's now lasted over 10 years and the longer it's gone the more of my life it's consumed. I won't detail everything I've had to do in that time, but unless you've had to take care of an adult who is unable to take care of themselves, you can't imagine how physically demanding it is, how much time it takes, and unless it was a close family member, how much of an emotional toll it takes. In the last five years she became bedridden, and everything became much harder. We deal with chronic issues every day and many that crop back up over and over, from bed sores to bouts of dementia, plus all the random things that crop up on us.

When I started my hiatus, it was because she was suffering from kidney failure and her doctors were bracing us for the end. Then my grandmother does what she does best and inexplicably recovers, but since then the daily upkeep with her has been exceedingly difficult, and at least once a week I wake up to some crisis that might be the end, but still isn't. Much as I try to get back into the groove of reviewing and script writing, it just doesn't happen. The thing about this job? My mental state dictates everything. If I'm distracted or depressed, then work doesn't get done, and when one of your loved ones is suffering across the hall, both of those things are hard to avoid. To compound this, my mother is now on disability so she has her own issues, my dad is getting on in years, and we're now in a position where I'm required to be here for my grandmother, there's no option. If you're familiar with the Sword of Damocles, my life has several hanging overhead that wrecks everything if even one falls... Yesterday one of them fell, and not any of the ones I mentioned, one I will keep to myself but it cuts deep, and I'm still waiting for more to fall. It's hard to explain how emotionally ravaging it is for so much in your life to be going wrong around you, the suffering of your loved ones, but being helpless to do anything about it except keep it going until it reaches it's end, just for it to never come.

This isn't me pandering for sympathy or new Patreon subscribers, I'm not trying to make excuses, my goal is just transparency. As a fan of online personalities that have just suddenly stopped making videos and offered no reasoning, I don't want to leave people wondering what's taking so long, particularly because I have Patrons who pay to let me keep going and I'm exceptionally thankful for their patience. This also isn't a retirement announcement, there's so much I want to do with the channel, it's just a matter of having the chance to do it. This is just to give context and explain why this has gone so long, if I was going to keep any form of mental health I couldn't worry about a release schedule, too, especially when I don't have the enthusiasm for the videos, I'd be forcing myself through them and that doesn't give you guys anything worth watching. I'll be back, at some point, but I have to take care of myself first.

Do i see future plastic addict victims in the cyberverse toyline?

Probably. We’ve crossed into a weird area, used to be there were gimmick figures as sub-lines of a Transformers series, usually based on the current cartoon or movie, and I banned those from Addict. Now the main line is full of gimmicks like it’s Armada all over again, so we’ve crossed the line where once again the main toys are being hampered.

Think there is a pre Beast Wars toy bad enough for plastic addict?

I used to say no, pre-Beast Wars the toys were very different and there’s no standard I can really hold them to fairly, but I’m starting to change my mind. The next Addict will probably address this.

How long does it take for clear plastic to become brittle and what kinds do so?

Really it depends. Some say it’s partially environmental, friends of mine up north claim to not have the issue, but I’ve had plenty of people message me about breakage due to long term stress. I find the thinner it is, the faster it happens, and the clearer the plastic the more likely it is to happen.

never heard your thoughts on this sentai before but what did you think of Gekiranger

I’ve got a soft spot for Gekiranger, there’s a lot of style to it I like, I love the villain designs, Bae’s play by play during the mecha fights, and GekiViolet ranks among my favorite Rangers.

with the rumor going around how would you feel about Kamen Rider Zi-O being a decade sequel if thats indeed the case

As long as it’s handled better than Decade I’d be fine with it, though we’ve had so many All Rider and Super Hero Taisen movies at this point the novelty of seeing the past Riders again has worn thin.

what is your favorite secondary rider belt for any series

Probably the Meteor Driver. Good sounds, good lights, just a fun belt all around.

What's your thoughts on Aqua Teen Hunger Force?

Random! I liked it early on but the longer it went the more the humor put me off, stopped watching long before it ended.

Toss up, GokaiRed and BoukenRed, depending on the mood I’m in.

Thoughts on Chou Super Hero Taisen?

Not too many, it’s one of the weaker crossovers. The Goriders themselves are fun but the web series follow up made better use of them.

since youve mentioned it in videos whats your opinion of Toqger ive noticed a lot of love and hate for it

Honestly the designs and themes didn’t do anything for me so I lost interest fairly quickly. I know it has some clever writing elements but nothing that drew me back in to try again.

if you ever had the chance too create a sentai team what would it be like and what theme would you choose

I’d go with a medieval theme, with Rangers based on knights. You give them each a weapon from the era, sword, lance, bow, shield, axe. Zords can be based on large-scale weapons, cannon, ballista, siege towers, with the red ranger getting a European dragon. The 6th ranger can be silver, a play on knight in shining armor, with a warhorse zord the Megazord can ride or combine with. Your carrier zord would be based on a castle. And to top it off, we can make the villain out of the black knight trope.

out of curiosity with them being the gimmick for WFC possibly what would you says your fav g1 micromaster team you wouldnt mind an update too

Definitely the Off Road Patrol, that was my favorite team as a kid and it’s a really diverse set. Plus it was one of the few proper monster trucks we got in Transformers.
