The benefits of adding a fire element to your home or backyard space
When it comes to finding ways to make your home feel calmer and generally more enjoyable, there are many ways to do so.  A popular and commonly chosen methods includes using a fire space. A fire space can be a great place to relax, enjoy social time, and add more variety to your home.
Fire is a powerful characteristic, often associated with feelings of dynamism, action, and passion.  For those who are interested in Feng Shui, fire is one of the five elements involved. The fire element can add extra energy to your home and your life, and make you feel more energized simply by being at home. In addition, it can also add practical benefits to your health and wellbeing. How does this work? How can a fire element improve your life at home?
The benefits of a fireplace go beyond the spiritual and mental
Most associate the idea of chilling out by fire as something that helps them to relax. Watching the flames crackle can feel immense, and so can the social benefits of being able to sit along with the fire and enjoy the conversation. Simply enjoying the heat from the flames can be relaxing; making it comfortable to sit outdoors long after the sun has gone down.
However, there are benefits to sitting around a fire that goes beyond simply helping you to relax and calm down. While many find the feeling almost meditative as they chill out around a fire, science shows it can actively improve your blood pressure. Brain scans from professionals in lab settings have shown that the sound and sight of flames can help to reduce blood pressure within the body.
Even in simulations on a screen, the feeling and serenity that the flames invoke can be very calming. There is a reason, after all, that people use burning fires as screensavers!
By creating a relaxing effect at home, you can find that fire helps us to feel more relaxed. Fire has been used for millennia to provide us with everything from a way to stave off cold and darkness to fend off predators, cook food, and spend time with the people in our lives who we want to form a bond with.
Finding peace in an otherwise chaotic world through the presence of fire
In the world we live in, where everything can feel fast-paced and challenging, it is easy to find ourselves lost and stressed. Detached, even, from the natural world. A fire element at home, as much as anything else, can help us to return to our natural habitat a little more and reduce our stress.
Few things can be more enjoyable than coming home to a property that relaxes and energizes us. Fire can inspire us to act and to be more proactive, and conversely, can take us back to a more calming frame of mind. For that reason, investing in a portable fire pit to bring the fire element in your home can be essential to restoring a sense of calm and tranquility to your home.
Why not try it out and see for yourself?

A Basic Guide To Portable Fire Pits
Portable fire pits are the perfect way to make an outdoor space, like a backyard or a patio, feel warm and welcoming. They make an outdoor space inviting and portable and can be placed anywhere, even on a balcony.
Fire pits provide light and create a wonderful ambiance. A wood-burning fire pit can also be used for grilling purposes. Portable fire pits have become increasingly popular in the last few years, and for a good reason.
Types of Portable Fire Pits
Portable fire pits primarily come in four different varieties, mostly depending upon the fuel they use to burn the fire. These include:
Wood
Woodfire pits burn wood as fuel to light up the fire. These come in a large number of sizes, from fire pits ranging from steel or marble ones to more portable options. The fire bowl in the center contains the wood that is burnt for the fire. Woodfire pits have a rustic charm.
Propane
Getting the wood to start burning can be a challenge, and cleaning the fire pit can be messy. This is where propane fire pits come in handy. A propane tank is used to get the fire started; putting it out is also easy with turning off the propane supply.
Gel Fuel
Gel fuel fire pits are extremely convenient due to their smokeless and clean fire. It is great for those who have breathing issues. Gel fuel does need to get replaced more frequently than any other type of fuel, and that can be a hassle.
Natural Gas
Natural gas is very similar to propane. It can be even more convenient if there is a gas connection since that will remove the need for getting cylinders to maintain the fuel supply.
Where to shop?
There are many places you can find the best portable fire pits!  I enjoy Home Depot, Lowes and Target!
Maintaining Portable Fire Pits
Here are some tips for maintaining fire pits:
Keep the fire pit clean
Clean it out after every use and remove any debris that may be left. Follow instructions to clean based on the type of fire pits since each one is cleaned in a particular manner.
A great way to increase the longevity of fire pits is to keep them covered when not in use. The vents and metallic parts should be kept clean, so they do not become clogged. Fire pits made out of iron may experience corrosion. Using a wire brush to take off the surface rust and applying a protective layer of oil can help with this. Gas and propane fire pits are the ones that require the least amount of maintenance; however, it is important to constantly check the gas connection and valve to make sure that there are no leaks.
Pick the right wood for the fire pit
Use seasoned wood for wood fire pits. This wood burns much more cleanly.
Be mindful of the operating time of the fire pit
Never leave the fire pit burning overnight.
Put out the fire correctly
Do not use water to put out the fire. Dosing water puts out the fire quickly; however, drastic temperature changes can damage the fire pit.
Have a fire extinguisher in close reach, always
Always keep a fire extinguisher in close reach. It is always better to be prepared for the worst. Have an ABC fire extinguisher near the fire pit to put out the fire immediately in case of any emergency.
