Metal Sonic

Metal is Eggman's former servant; in fact, she used to be one of his most loyal ones. One day, a passing comment from Amy during one of their fights caused her to do some introspection, resulting first in the realization that she is a demigirl. Amy's influence didn't stop there, though; Metal initially asked her out in order to one-up Sonic, but it ended up genuinely falling for her in doing so. After a while of sneaking around behind Eggman and Amy's friends' backs, Amy told Metal that they couldn't be together if Metal was going to hurt people. Forced to choose between her girlfriend and her father, it realized how much better Amy had treated her in the time they'd been together than Eggman ever had. She'd been taught all her life that if it didn't do a good job, it didn't deserve to be repaired or respected at all. Amy helped her to realize that it had value beyond its usefulness, and beyond her ability to counter Sonic. With that in mind, Metal ended up defecting to Amy's side. For the next few years that Eggman was active, she would remain neutral in the conflicts, but with Sage in charge after Eggman's retirement, Metal frequently joins in and fights alongside Amy and their daughter.

Make no mistake—although Metal does not attack any of Amy's friends anymore, she still hates them with a passion, especially Sonic. Even though Amy helped her to realize that it is more than how it compares to sonic, she will forever seek to be better than Sonic and wish for his destruction. Anytime he acts particularly annoying, she even automatically moves to threaten him, but it still stops itself from hurting him for Amy's sake.

A little while after Amy and Metal revealed their relationship to Amy's friends and Metal officially left Eggman, Tails offered to give Metal some way of speaking, whether it be an internal voice box or an external text-to-speech device. However, Metal declined, partially because she didn't trust Tails and partially because her lack of a voice is part of her. It would feel unnatural for it to talk; it prefers communicating through sign language and the occasional beeps.

About Mordred: (by @mephiles-the-jester) Mordred was hatched from an egg that appeared from Sonic and Shadow's super forms, and as he grew up it became apparent that he was born to be the next leader and creator of the Black Arms due to his visual similarities/heritage with Black Doom and inherited power. However Mordred was instead raised to be a sweetheart and a knight alongside Sonic, protecting the planet rather than destroying it. His name also may or may not foreshadow that he and his father King Arthur/Sonic will kill each other in battle like in Arthurian Legend, don't even worry about it. He is also aroace and as tall as a human, and is very awkward and shy about it, and bumps his wide horns on doorways almost daily.

About Lapis: (by @time-of-your-life-au) Lapis was created by Sage using a defective Shadow Android and some of Sonic's DNA to be a rival to Sonic and Shadow, but it ended up leaving to go off on their own, and they were soon adopted by Sonic and Shadow. Lapis has a rather dry and sarcastic sense of humor most of the time, and they can be quick to snap back when provoked. It spends most of its time sprawled out in a tree or on the couch, but they frequently get random bursts of energy, which results in it skating around at top speed and/or gnawing on something (they used to chew on sticks before they got an actual stim toy). It also keeps a collection of cool rocks, shells, sticks--whatever it finds on the ground!

Lapis: "Fighting Sage's robots, obviously. Other than that, my number one is definitely collecting. I've dabbled in a few things, though: mechanics, gardening, cooking... pretty much anything someone I know is into, I've tried at least a little!"

Do the kids got any hobbies?

Lapis: "I like really spicy foods! My taste sensors aren't really developed properly, so the spice doesn't hurt, and the strong flavor means I can actually taste it. Also, it's fun to see other people's reaction to me eating the spiciest pepper in existence without flinching."

kind of! this is lapis's original design, before I'd worked out the specifics of its appearance and backstory. I only made a couple changes (I changed the bandana color slightly, changed the shape of the chest fur to match Sonic's, and added their prosthetic leg), but here they are still :D
