So I recently met this tall, dark, and handsome black man and we hit it off really well since we’re both social butterflies there was lots of laughs in the beginning. Then we reached one of those low days when the giddiness of meeting a new person wears off and so I asked him “what’s your preference?” He asks what do I mean. I say “your type. If you have one” let’s call him Q. Q tells me: “I used to have a thing for short, thick, Hispanic girls.” And that was like a shot to my heart. And of course I get a little upset and ask him why? He tells me that from his experience with black girls, most have fit into the stereotypes of being loud, obnoxious, ect. and that he just wasn’t attracted to them because of how they sound. I was seething with anger. I’m tired of black men not having any love for black women yet expecting us to swoon for them. Bullshit.
