Tawakkul is more than saying تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى اللَّهِ. It is to put your newborn son inside a basket and place it in a river. It is to place the slaughter knife at your son's throat. It is to migrate from your homeland while your enemies are plotting to murder you. It is to be stuck inside the belly of a whale. It is to be thrown into a well by your own blood. It is to believe Allah is Al-Wakeel, and that even if the whole world turned against you, nothing will be able to harm you.
Afiyah means well-being. Asking Allah for Afiyah means to be saved from Distress, Grief, Hardship, Test, and all pain and suffering in both this world and the hereafter. All of this is included in the short but beautiful dua:
"Thousands of years ago, Allah wrote your name beside someone who will make you feel whole, beside someone who will complete you, someone who will complete half your deen and become your soulmate, your bestfriend, your world. They will become your everything."
You only need Allah. No matter what situation you’re in, no matter where you are. No matter who you are with. You only need Allah. Put your trust in Him. Rely on Him only. Hold on to that rope, so tightly.Never ever let it go. You only need Alläh. Tell yourself that and believe in it. No one will understand you like He does, no one will help you as He does and no one will ever be there for you as He is.
May your mind find ease this Ramadan and cleanse your soul. May you find your light at the end of the tunnel to leave all of your worries behind. Ramadan Kareem!
