In this season supposed acceptance and pleas for justice and equity, I’m reminded that He who rose from the dead and out of the tomb fulfilled those fundamental desires of man by dying on the cross for our sins. “And when God counted him as righteous, it wasn’t just for Abraham’s benefit. Fear of something coming to an end? Or uncertain of something that’s new? Well the wait is over, for today we stand on the threshold of the great annual transition; the ending of 2018 and the beginning of the New Year. With that being said much discussion has begun about our goals for the new year. But for some reason I don’t hear the word “Resolution” as often as I use to. Is it easier to say “I’ll attempt to” rather than “I’m declaring to BE different”. Perhaps we’ve not always accomplished the goals we’ve set out to do, maybe because it was set as a destination and we just didn’t get there yet. A Goal is something to be achieved; a Resolution is a decision of something to be changed. No Goal can be achieved with out a firm Resolution to make the necessary changes to reach it. I’m not “hating” on Goals, I’m just pointing out that there’s more to hitting a target than just having one. We have to breathe right, aim right, squeeze the trigger or pull the bow right. There’s a process and method to accurately hitting the mark. So here is some good news for you. Inscribed on eternity’s news feed is The Victories and Success of YOU standing in the end (2018) and launching into the new (2019). My suggestion is to list all that you’ve over come and are leaving behind, acknowledge and dismiss it, shred or burn it; whatever accomplishes closure for you. Now start fresh and enthusiastic about all that’s ahead of you. His reason in All seasons... Today is a day of rejoicing , peace on earth and good will towards all men. This is not only because of the family gatherings, presents exchanged and holiday feast. We celebrate the birth of a child king, the savior of the world. No greater significance or relevance has eclipsed this day more than the story of Jesus being born. Loyalty is not granted to the superior that boast perfection but to the integral leader who is unashamedly transparent. None of us is perfect but if I can trust you I’ll follow you. Leaders may not always be right but they are accountable for their actions. No else takes the blame for the decision of the leader. With confidence we stand by the one who stands up for us. And the truly courageous vow to serve under leadership that may not have been proven by these standards yet, and our utmost loyalty is expected and required of us. The men and women who have served in our armed forces personify selflessness and submission unto death. This level of commitment is only matched by Jesus to His Church, and should be by a husband and wife. Today we honor the brave men and women who have served. We do not discriminate nor discredit do to length of service or the terms of their discharge. Regardless how or why their term has ended all were held to the same level of commitment and each one of them agreed.
