@seudxnimx - Continued from HERE The gig wasn’t an unusual one for her, a corporate event she’d been hired to provide live music for – some jazz standards, a bit of classical, perhaps something a little more contemporary later in the evening. None of it was terribly taxing on her and she’d found it easy to just disappear into her music and drown out the throng of voices and moving bodies for the most part. That was until she was on a break and happened to hear a familiar voice speak to someone else in passing before falling silent again. Short as it was, it was enough for her to immediately recognize the familiar tones even if it had been a little time since she’d heard them in person. And so she’d guided herself closer and meekly asked for a dance.

Standing on the dance floor now, swaying in time with the music over the speakers, Lily lifted a shy smile up at Lucian. Everything else seemed to go a bit quieter as she focused on her dance partner. “The confidence is a work in progress still, Sir, but I do hope it’s coming along a little.” A blush rose to her cheeks but where she might have demurely dipped her head to hide the color before, Lily maintained her stance. “I’ve been mostly well, thank you. Classes and gigs are taking a lot of time and energy but I’ve also been making time to volunteer at a couple local schools to offer free or low-cost music lessons for kids. It’s been feeding my soul like nothing else…” She did stop herself then and her head did, in fact bow a little, “But I’m rambling as usual. I’m afraid I haven’t shaken that particular habit. How have you been, Lucian?”

Cassidy Harris had the natural gift of witchcraft in her blood, passed down through the women of her bloodline, but she’d spent so many years denying the truth of what she was capable of and trying to repress it. As a result, she was a late bloomer to embracing and taking control of her craft that and sometimes…well, mistakes happened. Usually, those mistakes were mild at worst but sometimes they could become just a tad more than mild. This particular mistake had stepped over mild entirely and leapt straight into wild territory without blinking. She’d knelt in the floor of her living room to cast a circle and perform a simple protection ward for her property and home, or so she’d thought.

Something had, quite apparently, gone horribly awry when smoke and ash filled the room. For a moment she thought something had happened to her fireplace but as the smoke dissipated, she came face-to-shin with something…someone…who hadn’t been there just moments before within her circle. “Oh for fuck’s sake…” she muttered as wide blue eyes trailed upward until they found the gaze of the other and she offered an awkward, “Um…hi. Sorry, but afraid not – I like a good joke, but definitely not kidding around here.”

Carefully so as to not disturb the circle of salt she’d laid down around her working space, Cassidy rose, never taking her eyes off of the person who’d just materialized her in her living room amidst her chaotic piles of books and blankets and photo projects. He looked wholly out of place in the cozy light cast by her fireplace and with her worn-out, patched couch lounging behind him. Clearing her throat, she commented as calmly as she could, “You aren’t what I was expecting to conjure up. Sorry, not that I don’t love having pretty men in my house, but who the hell are you and how’d you get yourself into my circle?”

He could feel it in his bones, whatever this person was doing - they weren’t done yet but Silas knew it was him being called and it’s been a long time since he’s had to deal with a summoning. It was rare that someone got to him and it was either very specific or there was some high demand on demons at this very second.

He excuses himself from having his lap filled, not out of consideration so their seat wasn’t ripped from under them but for his own sake of being ripped from space and time to be shoved in another. It’s a gut churning feeling, his skin crawling with the magic pulling him and he doesn’t fight it anymore, there’s no point. He does, however, come through prepared for the worst.

Being summoned means it’s tricky to get out of doing what’s asked, it’s near impossible to break free of the binds a summon has at first - eventually, after he’s been used, he can break free pretty easily but that would take some time unless whoever was on the other side was ready to get this going. He comes through in his human form, smoke and ash covering the floor at his feet - instantly defensive of what might be asked, a scowl on his face as he looks at the…. Very surprised witch. “You gotta be fuckin’ kidding me.” Still defensive and not making a move to step closer or further but he watches her more than anything, seeing if the surprised look is an accident or she just didn’t think it would actually work.

He can’t tell if there’s any new wounds and if so they might have already healed. The moons can be rather exhausting when he doesn’t belong to a pack or a mate and it’s fine by him, it’s how he prefers it but its still a recovery process for him.

He’s laid out, the sun peeking over the edge of the mountains as his eyes stare off the the color changing sky. He’s watched it for over an hour now and just can’t find the means to get up yet. He can sense and smell them before they are even close enough to approach, just before and just after a moon being the height of his senses. “I’ll be okay.” He offers, eyes shifting to where they should be coming from, a tired smile given with it.

“You know, I do sometimes get wayward hikers out here,” Cassidy commented with an arch of a brow and an amused smirk resting on her lips, staring down at the prone man in her little stretch of woods. “Might give them a bit of a shock to come across you like this.” Poking his side with the toe of her boot before kneeling down next to him and extending a still-steaming thermos of coffee his way, she held it just out of his reach as if to lure him at least to sit up. “Besides, I have a really comfy hammock or guest bed you can rest in rather than looking like the start of the next Criminal Minds episode in what’s essentially my backyard.”

Cass took a minute to observe him before cocking her head curiously, “Long night?”
