In loving memory of Elvis (January 8, 1935 - August 16, 1977)
He was an extraordinary figure of his and our time, his legacy tremendous in terms of the music he created, his films, and as an entertainment personality. The generosity that he showed toward others is simply remarkable and I think it's these aspects of his character, his persona, that make him such a special person.

“When I was a child, ladies and gentlemen, I was a dreamer. I read comic books and I was the hero of the comic book. I saw movies and I was the hero in the movie. So every dream I ever dreamed has come true a hundred times… I learned very early in life that: ‘Without a song, the day would never end; without a song, a man ain’t got a friend; without a song, the road would never bend - without a song’. So I keep singing a song. Goodnight. Thank you.”

I want to celebrate his life. He was so gifted, I just cherish his memory, his generosity, and he was so private, like I am. He knew about honour, and respect, and was so considerate, and his manners, and the way he was so civilized. And as an entertainer he will never be repeated. - Ann-Margret

People can buy your records and hear you sing. They don’t have to come out to hear you sing. You have to put on a show in order to draw a crowd. If I just stood out there and never moved a muscle, people would say ‘well my goodness, I can stay home and listen to his records’. – Elvis Presley.
