I'm just curious, but why did you decide to write Melanie as bipolar? Are you going to explore it more in dmc?

ron is actually bipolar, and saw a lot of traits in her! it definitely reads as something she's on top of and knows how to manage for the most part, but the way her fear of the slaughter manifests as fear of her own capabilities read to him a lot like the way bipolar people are treated as unpredictable and ready to lash out at the drop of a hat. the way she is an absolute freight train of a woman nods to manic periods as well (stuff like her breaking into the trainyard alone without much in the way of a plan or just dropping everything to skip to india alone). i'm gonna get a lot into her mental health journey in dmc, yep! her bipolar disorder is just one facet of a lot of other stuff she's juggling in there, but like i do with tim's home life growing up the point of that story is to show them knowing something is wrong and taking steps to recover

sex-neutral: you don't really have an opinion about freedom of sexual expression. this is about people in general, not you specifically.

sex-indifferent: you don't really care if you personally have sex or not, you could take it or leave it.

sex-negative: you only want people to have a limited sexual expression.

sex-averse: you don't want to participate in sex.

positive/neutral/negative refer to your stance on how sex is treated within society.

favourable/indifferent/averse refer to how you personally feel about participating in sex.

you can be a sex-averse asexual and still be sex-positive.

there's a common misconception that aces, especially sex-averse aces, are all "anti-sex", but some parts of the ace community still hasn't learned the nuance of these terms either. i still see people call sex-favourable aces sex-positive when they mean different things.
