Probably stalled by the Hive Fleet
Would it ever be possible for something as heavy as a terminator or dreadnought to benefit from jump packs? Im talking SUPER jump packs here, the kind of shit that the techpriests of mars would keep a secret from everyone
With the Adeptus Mechanicus, nothing is impossible. I refer you to this post.

Top 10 Imperial Guard regiments you would like to write about?
Again in no order:
Drookian Fen Guard/Finreht Highlanders: Because Scottish Imperial Guard.
Tumblr media
Fornus Lix Fire Drakes: In my mind they’re sort of a cross between the Salamanders and the Volpone Bluebloods.
Tumblr media
Bar-El Penal Legion: Just because their name is a big in-UK joke - Barlinnie Prison, nicknamed Bar-El, is Scotland’s most infamous jail. So Scottish penal legion.
Harakoni Warhawks: Goes without saying.
Tumblr media
Praetorian Guard: Again goes without saying for anyone aware of what I study.
Tumblr media
Teutonians: Prussian Imperial Guard with a penchant for super heavy tanks.
Necrumonda: Yes, Necromunda doesn’t just have gangs, it has hard-as-nails Guard regiments too.

Why go with the Sisters anyway? They have better things to do then exterminate these xenos. Bring in the crushing might of the Guard.

Solar Auxilia, screw the Legions
If I was going to start a Horus Heresy army, which legion would I choose (bearing in mind I’ve already decided on the White Scars)?

I recommend a mass bayonet charge. Very little feels better than stabbing your lasgun's bayonet through a Tau's gut.
What is the most satisfying way to kill Taus in the holy name of the Emprah? Purge them with flame, slay them with power sword/axe, smash them with power fists, annihilate them with bolters or make them blow up with a rocket launcher/melta charge?
I would say pulping with powerfists sounds fun to me.

The Emperor approves
If you where given the chance to retcon/rewrite any part of the 40K setting, what would you chose and why?
Well I enjoyed the rewriting of the Necrons. Obvious rewrite Damocles so the Tau get massacred.

With any luck, the next Hive Fleet will swallow the whole damn Tau "Empire"
Never forget the Mont'ka Campaign, because it won't forget you. It'll forget your Chimeras, though. And your psykers, and your aircraft, and three Companies of Raven Guard, and any semblance of Cadians having tactics, and any semblance of Assassins being even remotely effective. It won't forget how powerful Stormsurges are, of course, because the only time a Chimera is ever mentioned is when a Stormsurge blows it up. Yes, I'm still a bitter Guard player.
Mate, feth the Tau.

Light infantry are good at beach landings, but every footslogger prefers dropships to landing craft.
Can't think of any scenario worse than shooting at Xenos after nearly drowning when your landing craft gets a hole blown in it... Except maybe fighting in an Underhive
Cadians excel in Urban Warfare, right? So like, House to House, street by street type battle, while the Battle of Carentan would be more Harakoni (Being an elite airborn Division airdropping in and taking a settlement (well, that was the plan. Didn't work so much in practice.) What type of Reigment would be ideal for storming say, a beach, like on D-Day? IIRC Kreigers are more trench warfare type guys, right?
Yes, to an extent, though the Cadians are so famous that they’re pretty good at just about anything. Beach storming would probably be best done by regiments that fall under the category of light infantry, who aren’t overburdened in shallow water and are accustomed to operating without immediate heavy support.

Not necessarily, Saint Pious is a Perpetual, so who the hell knows if he's actually dead or not, since it says he disappeared in a flash of light on the Vengeful Spirit.
If you ever get around to writing guardsmen, pls do us a solid and bring back good ol' Pious.
That’s specifically Horus Heresy though - I pray I get such an opportunity.

There is no such thing as overkill, just open fire and reload
Are we going to be seeing books featuring the Harakoni Warhawks from you? Because if we are I'm going to be all up in that.
I’d love to, though I’m unsure as to how to go about it. I’m hopefully writing a series of Militarum Tempestus books next year, and I was going to feature the Warhawks as a prominent supporting regiment. I sort of want to give them their own book though, but writing Militarum Tempestus and Astra Militarum books side-by-side may be overkill. We shall see, but one way or another they’ll feature, eventually (as shall Staff Sergeant Carson!).

That, and I thought that Bolters were .75 Caliber
The injurious recoil of boltguns is nothing more than propaganda! The size and weight of a bolter would counteract a large amount of the recoil. Furthermore, Commissars are unaugmented humans without power armor, and are able to fire bolt pistols without injury. A bolt pistol uses the same .50 bolts, but is smaller and lighter, and thus would have a stronger kick. It disappoints me greatly to see such falsehoods being spread. ~a Mechanicus Adept
If I may humbly propose it, notable Adept, the bolt pistols provided by the hallowed Mechanicus for use by unaugmented humans are smaller in size than those used by the Angels of Death.
