3 Poems by Taylor Carr
economy
what could make humans be
kind to one another always
I don’t believe that exists when
we can’t even figure out how
to share armrests together
it’s a video
who am I in ten seconds
will you know me in two weeks
weightless and forgetting
names on a breeze
echoing the self’s traces
am I a minute or gone at last
chicory
when this life bit back
the taste got you angry
I think you stopped chasing flame
wore time like a top hat
desire changed their number
wanted nothing’s everything
always never needed down pillows
scowling at full moons from new cars
watching photo’s colors fade
too hard on a well lived life
or softly feeling it slink upstairs
