I hc that sweet pea is dyslexic, and not many people know cause he's embarrassed but Fangs and Toni know and they help him with school &get really protective if anyone gives him shit for it, and that Fangs was terrified of the dark when he was a kid and he was shocked when sweet pea found out and didn't tease him, even when Fangs cried and panicked cause of a blackout when they were 13. It was less severe as they get older but Fangs still got scared in the dark and stayed close to sweet pea.

Sweet Pea Head Canon

his dad packed up and left when he was seven years old

he didn’t even get to say goodbye to him

his mom was devastated and cried herself to sleep for weeks

Sweet Pea’s older brother dropped out of school to support his mom and little brother

they moved out of their apartment into Sunnyside Trailer Park where they met Fangs and his family

Sweet Pea’s brother could not make enough for them to survive

his brother refused to join the Serpents and joined the army instead to receive benefits

Sweet Pea begged him not to go and held his brother for a long time

his mom would lay in bed all day and go out every night, leaving Sweet Pea to fend for himself and take care of her

he grew close to Fangs and his family

Sweet Pea was eleven when he got the news that his brother had died in battle

it pushed his mom over the edge and she left Riverdale, leaving behind her son with the black hair like his father and brother

Sweet Pea had to move in with Fangs and his family

Fangs’ mom did her best to make him feel apart of her family, but every once in a while, Sweet Pea would cry to himself when no one was awake

a wall went up in Sweet Pea. Betrayed and abandoned by his own parents. Losing the one person who always truly cared about him. Forced to grow up too soon.

Sweet Pea was given his brother’s dogtags and wore them all the time

Fangs’ older brother told Sweet Pea and Fangs about joining the Serpents when they were older

Sweet Pea was hesitant just like his brother but over the years, he realized this is all he had left for him

Sweet Pea and Fangs met Toni when they were twelve and the three of them became inseparable, those were Sweet Pea’s people

at age fourteen, the three of them joined the Serpents and their bond became even stronger

they went through everything together and were always there for one another: initiation... freshman year of high school... the night Sweet Pea spent in the sheriff’s office...

he grew used to this life in the Southside and the family he made. Sweet Pea would think about his brother everyday though, still wearing his dog tags. He strived to do his best in everything he did. He vowed that now he would protect and take care of those he loved. Though he never shows it, he’s scared. Scared he will lose another person. He lies in bed at night thinking about it, and every once in a while, a single tear will fall at the thought. He is strong though. No matter what, Sweet Pea will look after those he loves because they are all he has left and are who he is.
